You sound like someones father...seriously. You have to remember music changes over generations. What was cool for one generation will not be cool for another. Sounds like you are older and are use to hearing a certain sound and style of music. The Snap music is what is cool this generation. Sampling is also cool this generation. For example the New Jack Swing sound was what most people grew up on who was born between 1977 & 1981. That sound and style of music is dated.JD Walker said:Check it out mayne,
I don't know how old you are, but I grew up in the golden era of Black music. We had all kinds of variety. Hip Hop was still a baby, if you liked Funk, you had funk, if you liked Soul, you had soul, if you liked R&B, you had R&B, if you liked Pop, you had Pop, if you like Hip Hop, you had Hip Hop. More importantly, damn near every singer in my era was classically trained. I believe it was Stephanie Mills who said that you don't have any business coming near a mic if you hadn't had at least 6 years of vocal training.
Todays music? First the production started sucking. Niggas got to lazy and didn't want to learn how to play an instrument so then we were stuck with Romper Room minimalistic beats. But you all excused that away by saying "oh, the lyrics are tight". Then song writing took a nose dive (thanks to the south) and niggas literally started singin' and (c)rappin along to nursery rhymes. Now muthafuckas literally cannot sing.
It's like you've been eating the finest foods and the finest wines for years. Then all of a sudden, something bad happens, and you have to eat Ramen Noodles. Niggas trying to dress it up with ketchup and pepper and spam chunks n shit, but no matter what you do to it, IT'S STILL RAMEN NOODLES.
Now as far as I'm concerned, nuthafuckas my age ain't got no business listening to this shit they play these days. It's horrible. People my age only listen to this shit cuz they haven't grown the fuck up and are trying to be hip.
The only coon is you! How can you call someone a coon for making money and providing a better life for themselves. You have to remember the general public dictates what is popular and what is not.JD Walker said:Fuck you nigga. Fuck southerners, and fuck your music.
You talking about the south's contributions to hip hop is like 1st grader's crayon sketch of their interpretation, or "contribution" to M-Theory.
All I see is Lil Boosie, some coon singin Krispy, another T.I.P. porch monkey, Franchise coons, Dumb Joc, and a plethora of other below IQ southern minstrels destroying Black music.
It also takes talent to SING a hit song too. Obviously he can't, but like I said, no standards.BrownTurd said:You sound like someones father...seriously. Saying someone does not have talent is moronic. It takes alot of talent to write and produce a hit song. You have to understand that you have out grown music of this generation. That does not mean that the artist suck and have no talent. You just like a particular sound to your music and there is nothing wrong with that. The music that you like the generation that was older then you did not like your music.
MONEY IS GOD!!!!!!!!!!!BrownTurd said:The only coon is you! How can you call someone a coon for making money and providing a better life for themselves. You have to remember the general public dictates what is popular and what is not.
Music is subjective. How can you trash people for having an opinion when you are in the Minority. Yes you are in the Minority!!!! Record sales, radio spins, and production tells me that the majority of people love T Pain. They love T Pain because of his sound. Almost ever hit record out on the market today T Pain is on there. Some of the biggest names in the music business said that working with T Pain in the studio was amazing. For those who don't know T Pain is a trained musician and can play multiple instruments.freaky_1 said:It also takes talent to SING a hit song too. Obviously he can't, but like I said, no standards.
freaky_1 said:Again you're missing the point. I said in my first post in this thread. "As if we didn't know." Reading is fundamental, and comprhension is key.
Secong as I said this is a joke thread, not to be taken seriously, just to have some fun.
WHOA Leroy back off man, you got too many enimies on here you don't need to add one. If you weren'tt alking to me, then cool, my bad. let's leave it at that.Leroy Soup Nutz said:You keep thinking I'm talking in reference to you...and I'm not...reading is fundamental...good so then read...where did I mention your name or even allude to you...your comprehension is way off...there are other dudes in the thread that were making excuses for his performance on Kimmel as if they're surprised dumbass...
The faggotry in this post knows no bounds. Is this Blunt? This fool co-signing this no talent hack. I don't care if I'm in the minority. Being popular is not something I care about.BrownTurd said:Music is subjective. How can you trash people for having an opinion when you are in the Minority. Yes you are in the Minority!!!! In an Interview T Pain stated that he learned how to play multiple instruments as a child growing up. He also stressed that artist coming up should learn how to play instruments if it is only just a piano. He also mentioned that producing and writing is where the money is at. He stressed that he knows he will not be hot as a artist for long. He said his production and song writing will keep him paid for years to come. T Pain also said he never really liked the sound. Most of the time he would record the song in his normal voice and when they mastered and mixed the song they would put the sound over his voice with out him knowing. On his 1st album he only used it on one song. He said it became so popular that he decided to run with it and use it. He also said that he didn't think his album would sale huge because of his sound and his song writing might not go over well with the public. His production and sound writing ability has earned him the award of the most in demand producer. Everyone wants him on their songs.
Are you on his street team or something. you acting like this is a serious debate or something. It's a joke calm down. You're still president of the fan club and it's not shutting down any time soon because you fans won't allow it.BrownTurd said:Here is a series of Interviews with T Pain. Why do you keep getting his worst performance?freaky_1 said:The faggotry in this post knows no bounds. Is this Blunt? This fool co-signing this no talent hack. I don't care if I'm in the minority. Being popular is not something I care about.
It seems to mean something to you, because you just want to ride with what's popular and not saying anything against it. So iI guess radio spins and such means he can sing. So what if he can play instruments? He can't sing. If you're passing yourself off as a singer, you should at least be able to and not have to rely on a crutch like this to get over.
Like I said before todays music fans have no standards.
Watch it again and you tell me if this is a great singer or musician

You how it is to young black kids raised on this form of BET.JD Walker said:"BrownTurd" ha?
You want me to give props to a non talent gettin paid ha?
Money by any means necessary ha? If this nigga T-Pain wanted money,
he would have chosen another profession. But he chose entertainment.
He wanted the spotlight. Now he must deal with all that comes with that type of attention, which is criticism. And it's irrefutable that homeboy sucks and swallows and couldn't sing to save his life. The nigga sounds worse than Cassie. But a faggot ass fanboy like yourself wouldn't understand that, you piece of shit.
Like I said.Leeeeeee said:In my world, being a musician means you can play your instrument.
No one's hating cause he making money....that's cool...but just because he makes money doesn't MEAN HE CAN SING.
Your ears tell that he can't.
The nigga can't sing, but he is still making money. No argument with that.
A generation of kids is coming of age who never knew musicians who had real bands and played real instruments. Can we fault them for not knowing that the voice is just another instrument?
These yongn's have no idea how hard it really is to play music live.....breathing, playing, singing and still making that shit look easy.

you really expect the public to THINK that much just to enjoy a song??Andeyhollawho said:I like you Freaky! Your hate for the south is unbiased. Singers, rappers, producers...next it will be the cooks or something like that.
On the real though...If you can't listen to any T-Pain record and tell that his voice is altered you slow. It's part of his act. That whole "I can't sing so I'm using this computer, but I write hot ass songs" thing has been him since day one. Hell the name of his first album was "Rappa Ternt Singa". First song he said about ten times "I can't sing ya'll".
The thing is he doesn't hide it. Dude showed you that whenever he went off pitch that's when you got that "T-Pain/broke man Roger Troutman" effect.
How many times do you hear that "effect" during a T-Pain song?
Did you not think that sound was a computer generated effect?
If you hear it all the damn time and you know it is c-gen, why would you expect him to sound worth a shit live?
Think homeboi!![]()

I know "he getting money"
Is that the only thing that matters? You don't care that our culture our music and our lifestyles are being disrespected? As long as they getting paid it's cool right?
Like I said
MONEY IS GOD!!!!!!!!!
that should be the south's motto.
dicblack said:It's agreed that Tpeezy cant sing,
All he did was use the same effect that "Cher" made famous years ago and made it his signature sound unlike cher who did not want to have sound as her way of singing![]()
I will say his style of singing will NOT last BUT his songwiting will keep him in the just watch![]()
