Why are there so many haters? Y can't y'll just appreciate his music his vocals might no be the shit or legit but his lyrics are good. I bet not one of you all cannot say you didn't like not one of his songs. Plus he's getting money and you''ll fools not. GET OFF HIS DICK AND MAKE YOUR OWN BREAD.
Nigga please. This is a joke thread meant to make you laugh and have some fun. Shit is not that serious.

And please stop with that he getting paid bullshit. Calling people haters because this dude can't sing, how stupid is that?

you must be 12.

and for the record i make my own money. But it doesn't rule me. this dude is a fraud and you can't handle the truth. oh and I don't even listen to him so i don't like or dislike his "music"

bottom line if you're supposed to be a singer, the most basic ability you need to have is the ability to actually sing. Just makes the whole process easier.

But we know he getting paid and MONEY IS GOD!!!!!!!!!!

I like you Freaky! Your hate for the south is unbiased. Singers, rappers, producers...next it will be the cooks or something like that.
It's not hate, I dislike people without skills. And I didn't even know he was from the south because I don't listen to his music.

Andeyhollawho said:
On the real though...If you can't listen to any T-Pain record and tell that his voice is altered you slow. It's part of his act. That whole "I can't sing so I'm using this computer, but I write hot ass songs" thing has been him since day one. Hell the name of his first album was "Rappa Ternt Singa". First song he said about ten times "I can't sing ya'll".
First of all I knew about the effects processor. second like I said before I don't listen to his music. You know damn well there people who think this dude can sing. you know how stupid people are.

Andeyhollawho said:
The thing is he doesn't hide it. Dude showed you that whenever he went off pitch that's when you got that "T-Pain/broke man Roger Troutman" effect.
Like I said I know what it does, the thing is if he doesn't hide it and says he can't sing and he still is getting airplay, who's the bigger fool? The fool or the fool who follows him?

Andeyhollawho said:
How many times do you hear that "effect" during a T-Pain song?
I don't know you would be able to answer that one better since you obviously listen to and like his "music"

Andeyhollawho said:
Did you not think that sound was a computer generated effect?
I think I answered this already.

Andeyhollawho said:
If you hear it all the damn time and you know it is c-gen, why would you expect him to sound worth a shit live?

Think homeboi! :smh:
Ok if you know this dude can't sing and you are co-signing him, I'm not the one who needs to think. I support real skills. And another thing I don't hate the south, I don't like people who are frauds on the mic with no skill. One of my favorite emcee's is Cee-lo Green and Andre 3000, but I guess they don't count if it's not Lil Wayne, right? Yeah I'm just a south hater. That's just stupid.

I'll give you that one. I mean he do mention Tallahasse alot. And that song is a snap song, but I can't front you on that one.

First of all I knew about the effects processor. second like I said before I don't listen to his music. You know damn well there people who think this dude can sing. you know how stupid people are.

If you don't listen to his music then why in the hell did you make a thread "exposing" him as a fraud????

Why would you give a damn? Why should we?

Like I said I know what it does, the thing is if he doesn't hide it and says he can't sing and he still is getting airplay, who's the bigger fool? The fool or the fool who follows him?

Hasn't that been the thing for the last couple of years in hip-hop? People who can't sing singing hooks? So you mad that a rapper who used to sing his own hooks (on his underground tapes) decided to make a career out of what people like to hear? Are you serious?

Here's a list before we get too deep off subject...

Ja Rule
50
Eminem
Busta Rhymes
Nas
Common
Kanye West

All of these people can't sing, but have tried they damn best to sing a hook for radio play. I know I'm missing a whole shit load of them, but you get the point.

I'm not saying you are a "south hater". I am saying you are hating on the south. Big difference. Don't know if you notice, but the only music you have something bad to say something about is southern hip-hop. Just an observation. I mean serously.

Check it out mayne,

I don't know how old you are, but I grew up in the golden era of Black music. We had all kinds of variety. Hip Hop was still a baby, if you liked Funk, you had funk, if you liked Soul, you had soul, if you liked R&B, you had R&B, if you liked Pop, you had Pop, if you like Hip Hop, you had Hip Hop. More importantly, damn near every singer in my era was classically trained. I believe it was Stephanie Mills who said that you don't have any business coming near a mic if you hadn't had at least 6 years of vocal training.

Todays music? First the production started sucking. Niggas got to lazy and didn't want to learn how to play an instrument so then we were stuck with Romper Room minimalistic beats. But you all excused that away by saying "oh, the lyrics are tight". Then song writing took a nose dive (thanks to the south) and niggas literally started singin' and (c)rappin along to nursery rhymes. Now muthafuckas literally cannot sing.

It's like you've been eating the finest foods and the finest wines for years. Then all of a sudden, something bad happens, and you have to eat Ramen Noodles. Niggas trying to dress it up with ketchup and pepper and spam chunks n shit, but no matter what you do to it, IT'S STILL RAMEN NOODLES.

Now as far as I'm concerned, nuthafuckas my age ain't got no business listening to this shit they play these days. It's horrible. People my age only listen to this shit cuz they haven't grown the fuck up and are trying to be hip.

Don't see you hating on that new Kanye single. He singing that chorus too by the way. Pitifully if I may add.

Plus the south hating is the only thing you respond to? Call me biggie if you want Stevie!

Not all hip hop is crappin as you put it though. just the mainstream southern shit they playing. not all southern rap is garbage either but they are just choosing to play all the garbage shit.

I don't listen to this music today, except for the people who i feel can sing and rap, the others don't even get a nod from me.

Why are yall acting butt hurt it's obvious that these people are just referring to the voice effect by mentioning Roger & Cameo not comparing the actual musicians behind the sound to t-pain smh

You must not check the soundscans then. You should look into that, because rap and R&B sales are through the floor, not the roof. You guys love to hollar record sales like the artists are actually getting anything out of it. I'm trained in music business and have even wrote contracts for people, so i know of what i speak. That record sales argument is weak. no on is selling well enough to brag on.

Just so happens that they are playing a bunch of non talented southern artists, if it was a bunch of non talented other region people getting played I'd say the same thing. I said no biggie as to say not a big deal. But I guess that's too far above your southern education to understand.

Interesting.

I could sit here and give you a list of people from the south that have contributed to this hip-hop thing with both lyrics and stellar production. I am pretty sure though that this rant is targeted at the people I wouldn't put on my list so I won't go there. I feel where you coming from...I think.

As far as the untrained production goes...I think sampling killed that whole training thing more than the south. We still have some of the more talented producers down here who play instruments and orchestrate songs more than any other region. But we are not talking about them.

As far as untalented lyrics go...I believe New York was the father of the "gimmick" rapper. And I think Cali was it's stepson. Now think back since you say you an old schooler. Don't think about the people from either coast who had long lasting careers with classic material.

I'm talking about them...who gives a damn about them. Do you feel me homeboi.

T-Pain is a border line them. He write good hooks. I remember plenty of people who wrote good hooks and had tolerable lyrics. The first to pop in my head is Naughty By Nature. Not legendary, but made memorable songs for the time period. That's what I think T-Pain will be 10 years from now.

in other news, i dont have any proof but i think these negroes are up to shenanigans

This was a play on words. You see "Biggie" was a major part of a Total song entitled "Can't You See". You said that I see what I want to see. Therefore I made a cross reference. I even pulled the music reference together by putting in a reference to Stevie Wonder who was BLIND. Get it? :smh:

For me when I say these southern dudes suck, it's not an indictment on the whole south and every rapper that came from the south just these wack one's they choose to play instead of the one's with talent and skill. I could make a list to, but like I said before it would matter if I don't put lil wayne on it.

True there were gimmick rappers everywhere, but how many of those got respect back in the day? not many. You can't blame NY for the gimmicks everywhere has gimmicky rappers, it's nothing new. the new thing is passing off said gimmick rappers as real emcee's.

Check it mayne,

this thread is TESTAMENT to the musical ignorance of today.

THE ONLY MUSIC THESE ASSCLOWNS TODAY KNOW IS (C)RAP MUSIC.

When we argue that music isn't like it use to be,
they bring up old school hip hop.

We say there's no more Chaka Khans and Stephanie Mills',
they bring up some yamp singin hooks on a (c)rap song

We say there are no more funky basslines and guitar riffs,
they bring up some premade "beats" found in Pro Tools

They have no Funk, no R&B, no Soul, no Rock n Soul, all they have is (c)rap music and that's the only platform they can argue.

Yeah I'm just messing with you Chi-Town. Like I said it just seems you get a little extra on the southern hip-hop. They just gimmick rappers with something that is hot right now. That shit will pass.

My thing is...the better rappers could learn a thing or two from the T-Pain's of the world. The hook is where it is at on the commercial front. You can be intellectual as hell (Nas) and not sell records for shit because you can't reach your audience (Nas again!). Southern "rap" is selling because people don't have anything better to listen to. If you gave them Nas (real Nas not that Oochie Wallie shit) with a hook that had the impact of a T-Pain...Hip-hop would be right back in the pocket for me.

Damn how old are you?

This is a hip-hop discussion. T-Pain is a "hip-hop singer". A hook man. They are not uncommon in hip-hop. See Nate Dogg for a better illustration. They are called "singers" for lack of a better words. They are more of moaners or some rap/chant hybrid shit.

People are not that stupid. To compare Aaliyah to Chaka Khan is a fucking joke to anybody who knows anything. The argument is that we have as much love for Aaliyah as your generation had for Chaka Khan.

The reason music sucks now is because of three very important reasons...

1. The record companies do not spend the type of money or have type of time to "develop" artists. They are not going to discover a Whitney Houston and train her to become the "next". They are not going to give him/her two years to put together a album. They do not have millions to pour into one person/group because the tens of millions are not on the backend anymore.

2. Carry on of number one...Producers are getting paid out the ass right now. The only way to get a track cheap is to give a producer a label and let him produce his own talent. Take Timbaland for example. Missy and Ginuwine first couple of albums he was all over it. Now he may drop a track or two. It's because the demand for a "hitmaker" is high. So now you are depending on producers to find talent. Do you think they have the time or money to "develop" acts?

3. Records are not selling. It's not that slow grind anymore. It took Nas almost two years to go platinum with that first album. That shit is unheard of today.

You got a catchy song, then record companies don't have to push for radio play. Get a buzz, less promotion. Dollars are made right there. Damn if the man got something to say or is any good at music.

That shit is universal. Back the hell off the South. They'll be in Iowa doing the same thing if Iowa could make it hot.

For me when I say these southern dudes suck, it's not an indictment on the whole south and every rapper that came from the south just these wack one's they choose to play instead of the one's with talent and skill. I could make a list to, but like I said before it would matter if I don't put lil wayne on it.

Sampling is an integral part of hip hop. There are taleented musicians all over the world, the south is not unique in this.

True there were gimmick rappers everywhere, but how many of those got respect back in the day? not many. You can't blame NY for the gimmicks everywhere has gimmicky rappers, it's nothing new. the new thing is passing off said gimmick rappers as real emcee's.

I got a respnse to that...uh, WHAT?

Naughty By Nature will still be getting royalty checks in the mail and T-Pain will be pumping gas somewhere

New York was immune to the talented musician disease for about five years before it's demise. I call it the "Jiggy/Puff Daddy" phase. Anybody remember that?

The "them" I am talking about was in response to the line..."Don't think about the people from either coast who had long lasting careers with classic material." AKA the gimmick rappers. People tend to confuse those.

I don't give a damn how much you liked Shabazz the Disciple, Blahzay Blahzay, Craig Mack...I could go on...they did not leave a lasting impression on hip-hop, but had hot flashes of talent. Those people are gimmicky to me. They caught something that was hot and rode it.
