Cause it looks like peeps from the south took offense when trash was called out.
Then dudes talking about UGK. For some reason it doesnt seem to creep into the heads of some southern folk that Niggas are tired of the trash. NOT ugk . NOT luda, NOT oukast, NOT scarface. Tired of the D4L, Frachise Boyz, Yes TPAIN. that is all. weed out the trash.

Why in the HELL is this thread 8-9 pages long?

For real that's their new catch phrase. They hatin the south. It's not our fault that you bams can't differentiate between good music and trash and think it's all the same.

How in the hell did this shit get to five pages.

Aight let's cut the "Money Is God" shit for a minute.

When people say that someone is "getting money" that does not mean they are paid out the ass from selling records. It means that they have chose a profession which involves hustle.

I am not co-signing T-Pain as a vocalist just as a singer. That's it.

Aaliyah was not a vocalist.
Donnel Jones is not a strong vocalist.
Whitney Houston can sang her ass off.

Now everybody want's Whitney and Chaka to be the only people to create music now a days? Or their equal right?

95% of music from any generation is made up of Donnel Jones type of people. Nice voice but not the best. Don't front and say the 70's and 80's didn't have a few Aaliyah's sprinkled in there.

BUT we loved Aaliyah. RIP. Didn't matter if she couldn't sing...we loved the effort. She put in work. T-Pain is putting in work. I like what the man is trying to do for the game. It's just somebody having fun. No one is going to say T-Pain is our generations Luther Vandross. No one is co-signing his vocal skills.
You just contradicted yourself. How can you not co-sign him as a vocalist but do co-sign him as a simger? That makes no sense.

They are one and the same, just different terminology. You like that he is one of the many people with no skill in the game? No wonder music is so fucked up. You like what he's doing for the game.

Music is not a hustle, well at least it wasn't. Now you got people who don't care for music or have a passion for it but they got FL Studio so now they are producers with no musical training. I hate those people.

I like talent and ability, period. I don't care where you come from if you have skills I will support you. As it should be. These artists don't have to prove themselves anymore because of idiot fans not demanding more from them.

In my world, being a musician means you can play your instrument.

No one's hating cause he making money....that's cool...but just because he makes money doesn't MEAN HE CAN SING.

Your ears tell that he can't.

The nigga can't sing, but he is still making money. No argument with that.

A generation of kids is coming of age who never knew musicians who had real bands and played real instruments. Can we fault them for not knowing that the voice is just another instrument?

These yongn's have no idea how hard it really is to play music live.....breathing, playing, singing and still making that shit look easy.

damn, that dude tore it up!

This is part of what happens when you take music out of the schools. These kids don't know jack shit about music and they try to argue their way or make excuses for their lack of knowledge instead of just LEARNING. If you can't play an instrument, YOU ARE NOT A MUSICIAN. Period. End of story. It has nothing to do with sensitivity. Its your own lack of knowledge. You can't pilot a plane if you don't know how; you can't play music if you don't know how. The whole industry is full of fakes who try to cheat and make music instead of learning the right way and in the end, these kids are just cheating themselves. White folk will take over rap/hip-hop, R&B and everything else and dumb ass nigga will have nothing.
Mutha fuckas learn just enough to get by and the millisecond they ask for more money, they get replaced by some other dumb mutha fucka that knows just enough to get by.
I grew up in the 80s and the one thing I can say about my generation's artists - the great ones were great FOR REAL. Stevie, MJ, Prince, Whitney, etc. Their music speaks for itself. Nowadays most niggas just get on the mic and launch a marketing campaign on how great they are to hype everybody up into believing it. Weak ass no-talent BUSTERS. That's why a CD won't last till the end of the year anymore.

The people who you just mentioned such as Whitney, Stevie, MJ, Prince had someone write all of their music. They were place holders more then anything and you call that talent? MJ and Whitney could not produce or write a song to save their life. Most of the acts that you guys say made good music never wrote any of it or produced any of the music The music that you say is good is dated by todays standard.

Times have changed. The days of being a place holder artist are gone. You can't afford to allow someone to write all of your music because of publishing deals. How many successful artist are out now that can't produce or write their on material. You will not find many. One of the few that are around that can not write or produce is Usher and guess who writes for him......T Pain does. T pain has written 6 songs on his new album along with Whitney, Bow wow, Britney Spears, Charlie Wilson, Chris Brown, Joe, k West. R kelly
and alot more.

Playing and instrument does not make you a musical producer.

You have just confirmed that you don't know shit about music. Why did you even come back to post this dumb shit?

Your opinion on music is invalid from here on.

MJ or Prince didn't produce their own music? Place holders? Stop it man you're killing me.

All hail the President of the T-Pain fan club.

Dude, you're a musical dumbass.
dunce.gif

Prince wrote and produced ALL of his music. So has Stevie. They are REAL musical geniuses, not silly ass so-called "self-proclaimed" geniuses like P-Shiddy and R Kelly. Your generation doesn't have ANYONE that can compare to them - NOBODY. NONE. MJ plays on his HIStory and Blood On The Dance Floor albums and has produced a lot of his own songs as well as written his lyrics and vocal arrangements. Fuck proving it to you - google it, schoolboy. There's a video of Mike singing and playing "Ben" on piano when he was younger. If you want to see it, go find it. I'm not going to work for you. That's what's wrong with you lazy brats. The reason I mentioned Whitney is because this whole thread was about T-Pain's weak ass voice. Now are you stupid enough to sit here and compare Whitney to T-Pain? I thought not. How about Mariah? She writes all of her lyrics and sings the shit out of them.
Also, I didn't say shit about being a producer. That term is bullshit. Anybody who can pay musicians and put a record together can call themselves a producer. Being a producer does NOT mean you have musical knowledge. Being a musician does because you have to know how to PLAY SOMETHING. See, if you knew any damn thing about music aside from how to steal from greater songs (sample) and ride true hits with a beat or write shitty songs that go out date faster than open milk can spoil then we wouldn't even be having this conversation. There was no Autotune back in the day. Singers had to sing FOR REAL. Musicians had to play and producers usually knew as much about music as the musicians playing. You are right about one thing - those days are gone. Music is suffering for it.

Dear Red States

We've decided we're leaving. We intend to form our own country, and we're taking the other Blue States with us. In case you aren't aware, that includes Hawaii, Oregon, Washington, Minnesota, Wisconsin,Michigan, Illinois and all the Northeast. We believe this split will be beneficial to the nation, and especially to fans of real hip hop.

To sum up briefly:

You get Texas, Oklahoma and all the slave states.

We get stem cell research and the best beaches.

We get Hip Hop. You get coon hop(entertainment for whitey).

We get the Obama's You get the Bush's

We get the Statue of Liberty. You get Dollywood.

We get Intel and Microsoft. You get WorldCom, Enron

We get Harvard. You get Ole' Miss.

We get 85 percent of America's venture capital and entrepreneurs. You get Alabama.

We get two-thirds of the tax revenue, you get to make the red states pay their fair share.

Since our aggregate divorce rate is 22 percent lower than the Christian Coalition's, we get a bunch of happy families. You get a bunch of single moms.

Please be aware that New U.S will be pro-choice and anti-war, and we're going to want all our citizens back from Iraq at once. If you need people to fight, ask your evangelicals. They have kids they're apparently willing to send to their deaths for no purpose, and they don't care if you don't show pictures of their children's caskets coming home. We do wish you success in Iraq, and hope that the WMDs turn up, but we're not willing to spend our resources in Bush's Quagmire.

With the Blue States in hand, we will have firm control of 80 percent of the country's fresh water, more than 90 percent of the pineapple and lettuce, 92 percent of the nation's fresh fruit, 95 percent of America's quality wines (you can serve French wines at state dinners)

90 percent of all cheese, 90 percent of the high tech industry, most of the U.S. low-sulfur coal, all living redwoods, sequoias and condors, all the Ivy and Seven Sister schools, plus Harvard, Yale, Stanford, Cal Tech and MIT.

With the Red States, on the other hand, you will have to cope with 88 percent of all obese Americans (and their projected health care costs), 92 percent of all U.S. mosquitoes, nearly 100 percent of the tornadoes, 90 percent of the hurricanes, 99 percent of all Southern Baptists, virtually 100 percent of all televangelists, Rush Limbaugh, Bob Jones University, Clemson and the University of Georgia.

We get Hollywood and Yosemite, thank you.

Additionally, 38 percent of those in the Red states believe Jonah was actually swallowed by a whale, 62 percent believe life is sacred unless we're discussing the death penalty or gun laws, 44 percent say that evolution is only a theory, 53 percent that Saddam was involved in 9/11.

Sincerely,

You really need to educate yourself on our music. Music is like anything else, education matters.

Prince not only wrote and produced all his music, he was the youngest ever to have complete artistic control over the final album. That's a big deal.

When MJ did Thriller with Quincy Jones, MJ had many songwriting credits on the album...and if you think record sales matter more than the music, then check this out:

According to the Guinness World Records, Thriller is the world's best-selling album of all time, with sales estimated at 104 million copies.[3] The album is also notable for being one of only three albums to remain in the Top 10 of the Billboard 200 for one full year (along with Falling Into You by Celine Dion and Jagged Little Pill by Alanis Morissette), spending 80 consecutive weeks in the Top 10, 37 of which were at number one. "Thriller" is also the first album of only three in history to produce seven Billboard Hot 100 top-ten singles, and the first and to date only album to be the best-selling album of two years (1983 and 1984) in the United States, according to Billboard. The album continues to sell an estimated 60,000 units in the United States per year [4].

HOw much is T-Pain paying niqqas to defend his ass?

Bragging about his money as if you're getting a cut.

Anyway, who didn't know this?

It's summer time. Anyone could sound like T-Pain if they stand in front of the nearest spinning fan and start to spit.

If a million people believe in a foolish thing, it is still a foolish thing. This analogy pretty much sums up how I feel about today's music consumer. These zombies just hop on what's hot. No one cares about skill and talent. No one cares if they make shit that is dated and not classical(meaning years from now people will still be say "that's that jam"). No one cares about the genius that came before them or the sacrifices that they made.

This thread proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that money = quality to these braindead idiots. The fact that an industry that is not controlled by the musicians themselves. Ofays and Yehudis on the record label board of directors are calling all the shots and they are selling you a musical culture which has become stagnant/repetitive/uncreative and some of the shit they peddle is pure mind mush and self-destructive.

What you just stated was a personal opinion and nothing was factual about your statements. Going by your logic a person would have to be an actual programmer to be considered great in using Photoshop. You don't have to have extensive knowledge of being a programer to be great at using photoshop. Playing an instrument has NOTHING to do with being a musical producer. The arrangement of different sounds and rhythms is what makes a great producer.
A great producer has an ear for piecing together arrangements and sounds along with melodies to make a hot song. Because a person can play an instrument does not make them a hot music producer. It take talent to hear sounds and place them together to make them sound good.

Without a doubt Prince and MJ where very good at what they did. Prince during his time was considered a musical genius....but prince time has PASSED and we now have a new generation of musicians and producers. Producers don't have to spend tons of money for musicians and live bands anymore because technology has advanced so much to the point where a person can create a track that would normally take weeks to make...in about 10 minutes. Music is music. The only thing that has changed is the way music is made and produced.

Prince did not produce all of his songs nor did her write all of them. Prince had alot of ghost producers who did alot of his most famous tracks. You ever wonder why he can't come up with a hit to save his life now?

Are you calling Prince a hack.........You have got to be kidding me. Seriously though man, how old are you?

I'll admit I am no fan of his feminine dressing style and will say it in any Prince's fan face without holding my tongue but to say he had people write all of his hits is very misleading and suspect. Also Prince's catalog is large enough with timeless hits that he can perform anywhere in the world and pack a stadium. He does not ever have to make another hit in his life. T-Stain and the rest of today's posers could only dream of having 10% of Prince's success.

Prince was a bad man but he did not write all of his major hit not did he produce them. He has been sued before for this. But he was a musical genius because he did produce some amazing songs. But all of them were not his
