Re: ►►► OFFICIAL UFC 158 - March 16th - GSP / DIAZ / Condit / Hendricks / Marquardt /

Ive been in fights.

Ive trained and been in boxing, kickboxing and judo competitions.

I dont need to let your idiotic statements sink in.

Getting whupped but winning is getting tagged regularly but pulling out the W. Thats what Hendricks did.

What actually happened is GSP dominated the fight but Diaz got in some flush shots in the few good moments he had over 5 rounds.

Trying to pull rank by asking me if Ive ever been in a fight as opposed to you is just more failing on your part by the way. That shit is lame.

you have to be lying about your experience.

cause one thing ALL fighters know, that you can win and STILL take an ass whooping.

if you say GSP didnt take that ass whooping, ESPECIALLY in the 3rd round, you're either punch drunk or just lying.

gtfoh.

Re: ►►► OFFICIAL UFC 158 - March 16th - GSP / DIAZ / Condit / Hendricks / Marquardt /

Got his ass whooped? He took a handfull of good punches in the 3rd round, after that, he was home free for the rest of the fight. GSP dominated in the first 2.5 rounds until Diaz hit him with a couple of rights at the end of the 3rd round. 4h & 5th round, GSP took Diaz down and controled him for the win.

Also GSP has a great jab, he tagged the shit out of Diaz the entire night!! For someone who has supposedly trained with the best boxers in the, I was shocked that Diaz doesnt know how to slip a jab.

a handful of punches did all that damage?

okay mayne.

y'all mustve had tvs that photoshopped Diaz out of the fight.

Re: ►►► OFFICIAL UFC 158 - March 16th - GSP / DIAZ / Condit / Hendricks / Marquardt /

More and more, Condit reminds me of the legendary Marvelous Marvin Hagler. Win or lose, this guy always came to fight and gave you his best.

marvin-hagler-intimidation-o.gif

A LOT of Condit's losses are bogus. Even though he beat Nick Diaz soundly, I wish he would have fought more aggressively--that's something Hagler never failed to do.

It's weird that you would say that if you saw the fight.

Yes, a handful of punches did that damage.

GSP landed much more punches and controlled the fight, you saw it yourself.

That should tell you that GSP bruises more easily, that's it.

If you don't like him, that's fine, me neither, but lets not kid ourselves. He won, flat out. Not even Diaz would say the shit you're saying lol

judges scorecard: 50-45 decision for GSP.

a +5 strike margin of victory is HUGE.

but it also means he got HIT SIGNIFICANTLY 45 times.

that sir, is an ASSWHOOPIN'.

GSP wasn't JUST BRUSIED...he required stitches over his eye and his nose.

it doesnt matter if i like someone or not, what matters is GSP's style opens him up to TOO MUCH DAMAGE as he goes on to win, and SOMEBODY is gonna to hit him harder than Diaz.

UFC has no official strike count.

50-45 only refers to GSP winning the fight 5 rounds to none. Nothing else.

So WTF are you talking about?

GSP only outlanded him by 5 strikes? LMAO !!!

So where are you getting your figures from? :hmm:

okay then, according to fight metric Diaz landed 41 significant strikes.

is that better?

GSP landed 105 significant strikes.

Diaz looked like he lost a fight. he was supposed to.

GSP looked like he was assaulted by multiple attackers.

because he LEAVES HIMSELF OPEN and takes too many hits.

even his CORNER told himthat after the fourth. they said STAY AWAY FROM TRADING PUNCHES.

shit, i'm not against GSP, i call it as i see it, and that motherfucker got his ass kicked during a fight he WON.

if you CAN'T understand that, you are either a doddering asshole, a liar, or too stupid to comprehend that in the fight game and many other sports EVEN WINS can be PHYSICAL LOSSES.

You just outed yourself.

So you thought juges scorecards referred to landed strikes, but you wanna pretend that you got something to teach me about MMA???

Any novice could have told you that GSP outlanded Diaz by alot more then 5 strikes. You still found the nerve to type that shit. Did you even see the fight?

Im thinking you didnt. Cause you keep talking about he looked as opposed to what happened in the fight.

Do your homework. Is 41 strikes and 0 takedowns over 5 rounds more punishement then the average? Go find out before you answer!

In no way, shape or form did GSP take any kind of physical loss. He took some shots flush to the face and he bruises easily. Other posters tried telling you that.

Go watch the fight and enjoy.

Re: ►►► OFFICIAL UFC 158 - March 16th - GSP / DIAZ / Condit / Hendricks / Marquardt /

The thing about post-fight gifs is that they're cherry-picked. Looking at these, you'd never know Hendricks put in work on Condit and GSP's fight was a snooze fest.

Mad props to Condit, for real. He's easily become a fan fave with many, and it was great to hear the audience appreciation for them both PRE- and post-fight. Condit having gone 25 minutes with GSP in Nov. 2012 and being a respectful fighter. HENDRICKS having KO'd Kampmann at that same card in 46 seconds. Both Top 3 easily. They delivered on the hype. I was just glad that HENDRICKS didn't catch him early. Condit being a former WEC champ. He's scrappy and durable. Shit ... Fitch lasted 12 seconds ... Kampmann 46 seconds ... against Hendricks. Condit went 25 with GSP, and 15 with Hendricks.

I respect Condit, but I don't think he would have got the full 15 if Hendricks hadn't hurt is power hand. Hendricks clearly had him in the grappling area. He took him down at will. Pair that with a vicious ground 'n pound... lights out. Still, getting injured in a fight is part of the game. Hendricks hurt his hand and Condit capitalized on it. Kudos to him. It was a great fight. I think, if Condit ever tightens up his take down defense, he might be ready for another run at the title. That's seems to be his Achilles heel.

Well said, MFH.

If memory serves correctly ... Hendricks has hurt his hand(s) a few times in recent years. All part of the game, no doubt. He definitely had that wrestling working for him with the 12 total takedowns. Those do add up, no question. As for Condit ... I liked what he said in the post-fight presser. One of the press asked him what he thought he might need to shore up moving forward. His reply was basically - "I think it's pretty obvious ... I need to work on my wrestling", and then elaborated a little bit. I always sort of underestimate him a little bit ... I think it's because of his height & sometimes his posture or movements. He doesn't move the most fluidly, but has that power & grit. Kinda like when you look at someone like George Roop. Very athletic and all ... but he's got more awkward movements being 6-feet plus, and always fighting at 135 - 155lbs over the past years.

Re: ►►► OFFICIAL UFC 158 - March 16th - GSP / DIAZ / Condit / Hendricks / Marquardt /

Another thing that Condit and Hendricks have working for them is that they don't cut & mark up as badly as some of their peers. Even in the tougher fights they've been in. It's amazing how some bodies bruise and mark up in comparison to others, athlete or not. Blood flow, musculature, bone structure, circulation, elasticity of skin, etc.

man, if you want to live in fantasy land and think that GSP aint take a severe ass whoopin from Diaz (and Condit to boot) be my guest.

YOU just outed yourself as either a comlete fanboy, a total idiot, or just a contrarian.

BTW, Ali took a SEVERE asswhoopin from George Foreman during their fight, but ended up winning. he said himself he was pissing blood for WEEKS after taking all those body blows.

is it that in YOUR mind when you win you NEVER take any injuries?

i guess after fights the WINNERS NEVER go to the emergency room for cts, mris and other tests?

i can admit i got the fight metric numbers mixed up with the judges numbers as i was reading both of the at the same time and misidentifed what i was reporting...but i been following fighting for 30 years, and what i say stands.

GSP got fucked up on his way to win that fight, and if you say anything else youre just lying.

Id say your reading comprehension is on par with your MMA knowledge which is poor to say the least.

I specifically wrote that Hendricks, as a winner, took a beating. Guys taking beatings but pulling out Ws happens regularly. I wrote that. So save your rant for someone else.

What I did say about GSP is that he didnt take a beating while winning. There is a difference between taking some hits in a championship fight, and getting your ass whupped but winning anyways.

Lets compare GSP and Hendricks fights last weekend, just to simplify things, using your website no less. Condit nailed Hendricks with 42 significant strikes, threw 201 total over 3 rounds. Diaz nailed GSP with 41 sig str, threw 176 total over 5 rounds. Neither was taken down. Hendricks lost a round while GSP lost none.

Yet Hendricks looked better then GSP did after their fights. Why is that?

If you hit GSP flush, you will leave a mark. Thats all.

But overall Diaz moments were few and far between, and at no time was GSP in any danger of getting taken out, or even appeared shook by any of Diaz shots. Only one round was close. His corner told him to stop trading with Diaz cause that was the only way Diaz got any work in.

Taking 41 strikes and 0 takedowns over 5 rounds aint shit. Go look it up.

Don't forget, as impressive as Hendrick's recent KO streak has been, and it's VERY impressive, he 3 times more decision wins than Condit!!

I watch it every week.....Im not a fan of the business venture with TNA...but whatever

I like how they let the curses fly....Saad Awaad looks like a fuckin beast. I was never really into Will Brooks. Im not a fan of dude who "just wrestle", and thats what he was looking like in his his last fight. Reminded me of Woodley before the Heiron fight.

Big fan of Chandler.....I dont think they have a lightweight over there that can hang with him.

I know people dont like Askren, but Im a fan now..since his last fight

and Shahbulat Shamhalaev looks like nobody can touch him..I think Pat Curran is going night night

his impersonation of GSP was hilarious

The whole thing is funny...but the UFC stuff starts around 23:00

Re: ►►► OFFICIAL UFC 158 - March 16th - GSP / DIAZ / Condit / Hendricks / Marquardt /

Good points, Johniz. I guess I meant more like one of those bullshit QUICK stoppages. I.E. - Jung in 7 seconds over Hominick. Hendricks in 12 and 46 seconds respectively over Fitch & Kampmann. Those types of quick-ass finishes. Not a fan of those as they don't tell you much about either fighter. I always scratch my head at Hominick going 25 minutes with Aldo (a true P4P'er) and 7 seconds with Jung (very tough guy) who got head-kick KO'd by George Roop of all people in the WEC (who lost in 3 minutes or less to Hominick in the UFC who blasted him with body shots, etc). GSP-Hendricks should be fun. As for Condit ... I was pissed last year when the Diaz nuthuggers were saying he was a bitch and running away from Nick. No ... not the case. He's just following a gameplan. Do people want to wrestle with GSP? Do they want to box with Nick? Do they want to try and sub Benson Henderson? Nope x3. :D
