self snitch:lol:

:smh: I am amazed that he has the discipline to do MMA and train for triathlons! This dude is out of his mind!

Take if from me, the interest on taxes is insane. If Nick didn't pay taxes on thousands of dollars, he's not passing go and going straight to jail because very few could afford what he would owe.

Exactly....Nick will owe hundreds of thousands of dollars. I guarantee there is someone that will follow up with this Monday first thing.

There was a guy on the Howard Stern show that admitted on the air that he did not file taxes for one year. He ended up doing 1 year in Federal prison for saying that on the air....and that was for one year! The way Nick put it, he probably hasn't paid taxes in 10 years.:smh:

props on the link.

Though Diaz is off, I am glad he finally spoke out on the whole takedowns and letting Hendricks know he felt he lost that fight.

ha!

I think its all subjective, and the UFC has it's rules. If that helps wrestlers, so be it. If fans fall off because of it, and they decide to change that, thats cool too. I don't have an issue with it. I see the art in it.

Re: ►►► OFFICIAL UFC 158 - March 16th - GSP / DIAZ / Condit / Hendricks / Marquardt /

Props to Diaz on the hype, pre-fight presser, conference call, and post-fight presser.

Just wish he would have delivered more given he knew who his opponent would be. Did his camp not think he'd spend plenty of time on the ground, or defending takedown attempts? Have they not watched tape of the past decade (especially the past 5 years) of GSP's game? That's what irks me. It's not a boxing match. The world champ is not gonna stand and trade with you.

Diaz don't care, but that was a funny post fight news conference. Diaz and Rampage are right about takedowns though, some fighters just take you down and hold you the entire fight.

So do the Gracies, who are against the stand-up rule. But there is no art in SIMPLY tasking someone down ... and no follow up? AWhere's the art in that??

Royce was a master at the whole show. Time will tell.

Re: ►►► OFFICIAL UFC 158 - March 16th - GSP / DIAZ / Condit / Hendricks / Marquardt /

Well said, Johniz. Royce and others in their prime were beasts with the ground work and angling hard for the subs. Constantly working to snag something.

Re: ►►► OFFICIAL UFC 158 - March 16th - GSP / DIAZ / Condit / Hendricks / Marquardt /

Did anyone else notice this last night? Diaz said a number of time during the interview "Its funny. Its like George knew every move I was going to make before I even did it. I dont know how he was able to do it."

I swore that Diaz was going to claim that he thought he had a spy in his camp who was reporting back to GSP. He kept making that statement over and over again. We all know JBJ had a spy in Rampage's camp before their fight, so I thought for sure Diaz was going to say the same thing about GSP.

like I said, it's subjective. Thats good for the Gracies.

Takedowns are hard.

holding down Jui Jitsu pros, and avoiding subs is hard.

Controlling someone for 3 to 5 rounds and scoring points on them is hard.

knowing that takedowns are there to avoid takes away other weapons.

Taking away elements takes away from how fightin actually works.

I agree with you wholeheartedly
its not takedowns it about octagon control and dicatating where the fight happens.

gotta give credit to the fighter who imposes his will and controls the fight on his terms. It may not always be fan friendly but it gets cats Ws

did you notice anything else he said last night? He was making more excuses than I've ever heard.

GSP knowing his moves means he's been watching him for years like he's supposed to

I dont like wrestlers but, MMA has been around long enough for these guys to know that TDD is the most important skill to have if you want to get and hold a belt in any top promotion.

Re: ►►► OFFICIAL UFC 158 - March 16th - GSP / DIAZ / Condit / Hendricks / Marquardt /

Yoooooo, I just checked out ESPN
Did this nigga Diaz really say he doesn't pay taxes, on national TV???
IRS gonna be all over his ass, worse than GSP
Damn thats a dumbass mofo

:smh::smh::smh:

the ufc started to show which art was most effective- BJJ dominated a while, now wrestling is dominating. Boxing has it's place, but it only opens up when you have good wrestling and BJJ. Muay Thai as well.

Re: ►►► OFFICIAL UFC 158 - March 16th - GSP / DIAZ / Condit / Hendricks / Marquardt /

There's really no debate about it: GSP is a boring ass points fighter.

This...they need to take points away for stalling....and penalize the one who is in control if they aren t doing anything to further the cause

Re: ►►► OFFICIAL UFC 158 - March 16th - GSP / DIAZ / Condit / Hendricks / Marquardt /

He is, and I can't wait til someone BEATS him out of that spot. I hope it's Hendrix.

Hendricks aint gonna best him he was gassed by the end of round 2.....how is he gonna hold up for five

Man that statement is too dumb to even argue it.

Hendricks power hand getting messed up early altered his attack and he still went 5 action packed rounds with a very game Condit. Which is pathetic that he was able to deliver a more exciting fight with one hand than GSP could against a lethargic Diaz. We learned last night that Hendricks is a great take down fighter--not just a one-trick pony-- and can take a punch. GSP has a suspect chin, damages too easily from the neck up (which makes him vulnerable to TKO doctor stoppages) and simply fight to win, not to eliminate his opponent. Hendricks throws that left with very bad intentions. GSP is content with pounding away at your gloves, fore arms and shoulder on the ground to score points with the judges and excite his home crowd (who cheer whenever he blinks at an opponent). All it takes is a great wrestler, with good BJJ and a punch like a hand grenade to expose GSP. That sounds a lot like Hendricks and/or Ellenberger to me.

he takes far too much damage winning his way.

Re: ►►► OFFICIAL UFC 158 - March 16th - GSP / DIAZ / Condit / Hendricks / Marquardt /

- 2nd time Nick Diaz has "retired" in the past year and change (Feb. 2012 / March 2013). How does someone of his general stature in the sport apparently avoid paying taxes like the rest of us bums in society? Sure word got back to the I.R.S. after his comments on the damn post-fight presser :lol:

- Hopefully Hendricks' hand heals up quickly.

- Props to Condit ... he's been putting on exciting fights over the years (and was always fun to watch in the WEC as champ there too).

- Ellenberger's still legit at 170lbs. Still in that Top 5 / Top 6 range.

- GSP's probably got a couple of years left. Most of us think we'll see JONES/SILVA in a superfight at catchweight before we ever get GSP/SILVA.

- Nate Marquardt will either get released, or have 1 more fight. He looked great against Woodley ... awful against Saffedine, and got taken out quickly by Ellenberger. He fought Anderson Silva years ago (around 2006/2007 wasn't it?) and pissed the UFC brass off hardcore back in 2011 or whatever with the whole shit surrounding the televised main event on that card w/ Rick Story (needed to be replaced by Charlie Brenneman - who came in and upset Story at that time).

Re: ►►► OFFICIAL UFC 158 - March 16th - GSP / DIAZ / Condit / Hendricks / Marquardt /

GSP played this fight very safe. Nick gave up his back and GSP even claimed he wouldn't take it. He didn't want to get into any positional scramble with nick as he knew nick would best him there. He also was smart not to throw combo's coming forward at nick and he would have been better in the boxing. Everyone knows the Diaz brothers weaknesses are strong athletic top control wrestlers with good submission defense. Like his younger brother before him in the scrambles with Benson Henderosn it was nate who found the subs, he just couldn't complete them. Nick had a smart game plan he just chose to implement it late. He should have started defending the takedows a little earlier and he should have thrown GSP off his game and shot a take down himself just to have GSP worried about it, then he could have went to town with his boxing.

It's definitely interesting with the Diaz brothers. I remember being a huge fan of Cerrone's work in 2011 and thinking he'd have NATE's number. I was totally wrong. Nate schooled him for 15 minutes straight in Dec. 2011. I didn't take into account it was Cerrone's 5th fight of 2011 or whatever, and that he was probably running on fumes a bit. That said - I thought Cerrone's experience and muay thai & kickboxing tendencies would serve him well. Nope. NATE boxed the living shit out of him. Then when NATE matched up with Ben Henderson in Dec. 2012 I knew about the stylistic match-up. I went with HENDERSON. He's strong, quick, athletic ... can wrestle & essentially is UNsubmittable. So I knew that would serve him well, and it did & he dominated Diaz for 25 mins (whereas DIAZ had dominated Jim Miller & Donald Cerrone in those fights). It's definitely all about the stylistic match-ups and how they play out. GSP would have been a fool to scramble with Nick on the ground, or to try and straight box with him heavily. He gave it a try at times, but his bread and butter = jabs / occasional Superman punches / takedown attempts / ground control via his MMA-centric wrestling (not having any high school or collegiate wrestling to draw upon).

Ive been in fights.

Ive trained and been in boxing, kickboxing and judo competitions.

I dont need to let your idiotic statements sink in.

Getting whupped but winning is getting tagged regularly but pulling out the W. Thats what Hendricks did.

What actually happened is GSP dominated the fight but Diaz got in some flush shots in the few good moments he had over 5 rounds.

Trying to pull rank by asking me if Ive ever been in a fight as opposed to you is just more failing on your part by the way. That shit is lame.

:lol::lol:

Nick is crazy man.. " I wont make excuses" then makes every excuse possible...

I will say this, Diaz did not look himself in that fight. Even when he was standing he wasn't nearly as aggressive as usual. It could have been because of one of those reasons he listed, or it could be because he's a front runner, and mentally quits when he's behind.

I think Hendricks lost to Condit, but has the style to beat Gsp. If he lays them paws on Gsp, its lights out.

I also think Rory McDonald could one day beat Gsp too. But they likely would never fight.

Re: ►►► OFFICIAL UFC 158 - March 16th - GSP / DIAZ / Condit / Hendricks / Marquardt /

I'm really disappointed in this fight.I really think Nick could ave won this if a few things went differently in and out of the cage.Nick has entertained us and made alot of people a whole lot of money over the years and I hope he lands ok when everything is said and done.

been waiting for this Hendricks vs Condit fight
interesting matchup

entertaining fight so far

what a muthafuckin round!!!

We may have a new fight of the night! Hendricks throwing them thangs!

Now this is a good ass fight.....

The first round of the Condit/Hendricks fight is better than half the fights tonight combined.

Hendricks is gonna TKO Condit.

Hendricks about to be my favorite fighter if he can pull this off...he fights like a caveman that got drunk and then went to the bar looking for mess.

this is MMA at its best

I agree. If the third round of this Condit fight is like the first, Condit/Hendricks will be in the running.

Great fight, 9 takedowns
Hendricks better stop lunging
before he gets caught with a knee strike

oh shit Hendricks got a busted hand

Condit won this....

29-28 Condit is how I score it.

I give this to Condit

Man Hendricks won this 2-1

awesome fight
I give it for Hendricks 29-28
Hendricks should take on the winner of the GSP vs Nick Diaz

I think Condit won that fight

Outstanding fight! Props to Condit and Hendricks.

Give those guys the FIGHT OF THE NIGHT bonus money (already) ... and some of that lockerroom discretionary bonus $ to boot. Big respect for Hendricks and Condit. They put on a show and did NOT play it safe at all.

Condit vs Hendricks was like...

:boxing::boxing:

WOW... HENDRICKS??

I was sure Condit got the 2nd Round. He damned sure won the 3rd.

LMAO! Talk that shit Johnny.

To be honest, this could've gone any way, but we know Hendricks was gonna get it, cause ain't gone be no Condit/GSP 2.

That's why we love the sport. There's always some good talking points with all the damn disciplines involved √

Got his ass whooped? He took a handfull of good punches in the 3rd round, after that, he was home free for the rest of the fight. GSP dominated in the first 2.5 rounds until Diaz hit him with a couple of rights at the end of the 3rd round. 4h & 5th round, GSP took Diaz down and controled him for the win.

Also GSP has a great jab, he tagged the shit out of Diaz the entire night!! For someone who has supposedly trained with the best boxers in the, I was shocked that Diaz doesnt know how to slip a jab.
