Props to Phil Davis. Not only did he show lots of skill in his victory, but I also like his he wasn't satisfied with his skill level. He'll go far with that mindset.

Yeah - good skillset and attitude. He just needs to stop fucking with the PINK MOUTHGUARD AND BOOTY SHORTS. We were makin' fun of that attire hardcore at the party :lol::lol:

2yxrwnq.gif

anaconda choke was nice. I like how he used the fence to climb and tighten the choke, and how he moved away from teh fence initially. he is really intelligent. also i like how he hooked the legs to help with the takedown.

He wore it for his mom. It said "i love u mom on his mouthguard along w/ the pink shorts. why pink? i dont know.

Maaaaaaaaaaaaaan this Silva fight is pure comedy, I ain't mad. Silva at least he put on a show to give the people something to watch and talk shit about rather than knocking the guy out in the first few seconds. Fuck Dana White's old bitty ass.:lol::lol::lol:

that shit was boring as fuck:(

I was sitting there with the homies and my boy's girlfriend (40yo) started laughing at BOTH of their attire (other guy in the white boxer briefs). Said - "What the fuck is this? The UNDERWEAR FIGHTING CHAMPIONSHIP ... these guys are taking it back to the Greco Roman days with the underwear or less fighting here ... this shit is WRONG ..."

But yo ... yeah ... Davis' skillset was present, and he was big for his weight class and that submission was very technical and intelligent. We had to give him props after laughing at both of their "shorts" (if you can call them that)

Part 3 of the great ARMOUR OF INVINCIBILITY series from KILLING MOON on GSP ... excellent stuff!

Welcome to the final chapter of St. Pierre: Armour of Invincibility.

This last Act delves into the occurrences of 2007, or year of the upset and how it affected GSP. Also progressing even further into his career up until the point of the March 27th, 2010 bout with Dan the Outlaw Hardy.

I love Anderson Silva and all but I just want to see him go back to knockin motherfuckas out. There's no doubt he has the skill to do so. There's flashes of greatness but it's tainted by all that bullshit. He is entertaining but fuck... just finish the fight.

BJ must have lost his damn mind... he didn't show up. No takedown attempts...no sense of urgency... I don't know who that was in the octagon :dunno:

Yeah - we all want to see the Anderson of old. Give us the Anderson who fought CHRIS LEBEN / RICH FRANKLIN X 2 / DAN HENDERSON / NATE MARQUARDT / JAMES IRVIN. Not this silly muthafucka acting dumb and wasting everyone's time.

Yes ... BJ knew he was facing a tough opponent in FRANKIE. Reading through all his pre-fight stuff in the weeks/months leading up to the title offering ... but I think FRANKIE just totally took him out of his game plan. Instead of charging forward into trouble like Diego did ... he basically bobbed around ... moved his head/body ... changed angles alot ... hell - my boys were joking - "My eyes are getting tired just following Frankie around the octagon here. He's moving ALOT ... his gameplan is intact ... keep BJ guessing ... and put the occasional jab in there or 1-2 combo to keep Penn honest." I think the guys who have fucked up fighting Penn in the past were the ones who were predictable and LAID BACK IN SAFETY, or the ones who charged forward and directly at him (in that his stand-up and ground game are both too good - and he can pick people apart that way) ... instead of someone who basically did his best to keep him guessing for 25 straight minutes ... and wasn't playing into 'his' game as defending champ.

I dont give a fuck what anyone says. THAT is how you evade a bjj fighter that does not wanna stand up... or is constantly goin for the takedown. saw the flying knee to his dome that stuffed a takedown attempt?

The only way you could make that argument is if Anderson ran around during the first two rounds the way he did the last three. And that's not what he did. Instead, he used his superior striking skills to pick Maia apart in the stand-up while avoiding the take down. He could have easily continued to do that throughout the fight and gotten the KO.

doesnt matter. did he win? yes he did. he proved he can destroy him. and mocked him the last three. by doin that he humiliated his opponent and told dana to kiss his ass in the process. why is this so hard to understand?

Well now you're changing your original point. Did he win, yes. No one is disputing that. But what you said was that he used the best strategy he could (running away) to defeat a BJJ fighter, when he clearly showed that he had a much more effective way of winning and most likely ending the fight.

As far as mocking his opponent and pissing off Dana, what does he gain by that? Humiliating your opponent certainly isn't part of Martial Arts. All he did was lose fans and respect within the sport. And pissing off your boss is just gonna fuck with your money so that's another L.

So question, which fight did you guys enjoy more...this one or his fight against Forrest. Nuff said.

He's one of those white people worshiping black guys straight from Africa, you'll never convince him. He said a white person telling a black person to shine his shoes isn't racist.

What pisses me off the most (and I'm a fan of Anderson's) =

- Like people said ... IF you're that good - fucking prove it. Go out there and DESTROY your opponent. Just take him out of the fucking equation immediately and make a QUICK HIGHLIGHT REEL of him. Why bullshit around for 25 minutes?

- You piss off the fans (11,000 in attendance)

- You piss off your fans

- You piss off the people streaming/downloading

- You piss off (more importantly) those who are PAYING for the PPV (and of course those paying more live at the event)

- You make a fool of yourself

- You embarass YOURSELF / YOUR OPPONENT / THE UFC / MMA IN GENERAL

- Fuckin' look around the past 48 hours or less ... pretty much all the reports/stories/articles/press has been NEGATIVE for the damn event (and all the haters/naysayers/critics see when they log onto YAHOO/GOOGLE/MSN/SPORTSLINE/CBS/WHATEVER THE FUCK SITE OR BLOG), and that fucking takes away from the fighters who put their all in there, and takes away from Edgar's championship win (which people will only remember for the co-main event's bullshitness).

- All in all it just gives the fucking sport (which has been gaining alot of respect the past 5 years) a FUCKING BLACK EYE ... fuck this MAIA/LEITES/COTE bullshit. Give us the convincing SUPERSTAR that you are ... and dismantle people like you did Henderson/Marquardt/Franklin TWO FUCKING TIMES/Leben/Griffin/others. Stop embarassing the damn sport.

Gonna check that Blackburn fight out as well. Heard it was great too.

Props for all of the links. Silva could have finished but didn't, don't know why he said Maia disrespected him so he wanted to punish him. Anybody know where to download the prelims. I heard the prelims were better than the fights on the card. I was looking forward to watching the Demarques vs Brad Blackburn fight. Heard is was a war. Props, best thread on bgol.

Here's a few of the PRELIMS for you, brother DS ^

 Word, I said that? You're a fucking fool. You know nothing about me. As a matter of fact, it doesn't seem like you know much about anything. Do us all a favor sign off retard.

waitaminute ... i neva said that it was his strategy. i said thats how it should be done. make them come to you ... evade when possible.

as for losing respect amongst his peers? thats a matter of opinion. its like when brock flipped the crowd the bird or when he told frank mir to eat a dick after the fight. i loved that. man after my own heart.

as for pissing his boss off? how is it fuckin up his money? you seem to forget that if he leaves the UFC ... he stands to gain a hell of a lot more else where.

i loved the forrest fight. he taunted him ... humiliated him and knocked him out. this fight... son said he was gonna break his arm. he fucked him up the first two rounds.... and danced around the last few.... proving that if homeboy couldnt use his jujitsu he was fuckin worthless. but ya'll aint lookin at it that way though. you think that if he danced around with a cat like Wanderlei, rampage hell even kimbo... you think they wouldn't chase him down and engage? he exposed this nigga as a one dimensional fighter. are you gonna agree? ofcourse not. but oh well. my opinion. :dunno:

Frankie just outclassed BJ that night, plain and simple.

bj didnt train for a few weeks from being sick
i dont think edgar will last 5 rounds in the rematch
