People sleeping on Huerta, and they are sleeping even harder on Minnesota. We got a good amount of fighters putting the state on the map. Huerta is going to punish cats for a long time, Sherk is going to come back from his frame drug test and show those fighters why he holds that title. I am still iffy on Brock, but none the less, if he gets some good training, than that will be a sick fighter. Also, whoever watches that show, TUF will know that Tommy Speer is a beast up and down. If he gets the right team, that could be the next Matt Hughes.

I was really impressed with their resilliency. Those shots they were catching one another with were NO JOKE. Swinging for the damn fences!

Garcia threw some real haymakers at certain points ... Huerta had some really good in-close accuracy on connections.

Thank you for the linkage, Johnny. Hopefully he's smarter than this. The cat is definitely amped up though and "The Muscle Shark" as a nickname suits him perfectly. Probably one of the biggest 155lb'ers MMA will ever see.

He was profiled on UFC: ALL ACCESS on Spike TV earlier this year and he (like alot of fighters) trains hardcore. Tons of weight training, plyo' + cardio'. His diet is top of the line and he takes a TON of vitamins and supplements daily. Hopefully he's not fucking around with additional shit.

No doubt, I've been training at the academy Sean and Brock have been at. Most of the fighters I've come across have been class act, and have alot of respect for each other. Hermes Franca may be no different, I just don't understand how he allowed himself to slip up, and fail the drug test.

I haven't really gotten to see what he's been doing lately, but I do know he's been training on that stand-up. Sherk's camp is nothing to mess with. I feel that if they can turn Sherk into a beast with his wrestling, than Brock will become something MMA fans could only have dreamed of.

Roger will also be making his acting debut as Miguel Caballero Rojo in the live action motion picture Tekken, due to be released in 2009.

On January 9, 2009, Huerta announced that he is taking an indefinite hiatus from MMA to further pursue opportunities in acting.[8]

Ex-UFC Star in Bloody Street Fight -- Caught on Tape

TMZ has obtained footage of former UFC superstar Roger Huerta engaging in a bloody street fight in Austin, Texas this weekend -- against a man who appears to have socked a woman in the head.

27-year-old Huerta -- who was once featured on the cover of Sports Illustrated -- was in front of a bar in Austin around 2 AM on Saturday morning ... when some other people began fighting. Roger was near the scuffle ... when he saw one of the men involved punch a female who was standing near the ruckus.

Once Huerta sees the woman collapse to the ground -- he instantly tries to confront the attacker saying, "You just punched a f**kin' girl."

Moments later, Huerta takes off his shirt ... slams his hat to the ground ... and rushes after the man.

Chaos ensues and people scramble after the fighters, blocking the camera -- but seconds later ... a shirtless Huerta can be seen finishing his attack on the other man ... who is sprawled out on the street.

People rush in to aid the bloody man on the ground -- who eventually gets off the pavement -- as Huerta walks away from the battle ground.

Austin PD tells TMZ that officers were called to the scene -- but so far, no arrests have been made.

Huerta's manager tells us, "I have not spoken to Roger yet about this incident, but I can say that it's in his nature to be very protective of women."

He was also at the TD Garden during the event. White posted this great photo of himself and Glen "Big Baby" Davis. Big Baby's t-shirt is dynamite. He's clearly jacked up about the news that Octagon girl Arianny Celeste is going to grace the cover of November's Playboy.

In an odd way, Roger Huerta is proving you don't need the UFC marketing machine to promote yourself to casual and non-MMA fans. The former UFC prospect is only 1-1 since leaving the promotion but has gotten plenty of national attention.

The reason? It wasn't exactly part of some grand plan. At 2:15 a.m., Huerta happened to stumble upon what looked like a man hitting a woman outside an Austin bar in Texas. Huerta stepped in to beat the snot out of the unsuspecting dude, who was reported to have been a former University of Texas linebacker. According to TMZ's Harvey Levin, the Huerta fight video was one of the biggest stories of that week on the site. Considering that TMZ is normally dealing with the likes of Mel Gibson, Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan and Justin Bieber, for anything concerning an MMA fighter to compete with that mix is pretty impressive. Huerta was invited to appear on TMZ's afternoon webcast and talked about the incident.

"I approached the man and said, "You don't do that. You don't hit a woman," said Huerta. "The video doesn't show what happened next, but he said, '[Expletive] you. I'll knock any [expletive] out I want.' The tape also doesn't show that he swung at me two or three times right after that."

"All you see is me bouncing up and down. He has already swung at me at that point. Then the guy takes off running. I chased him down and you saw what else happened ... I can't talk about what exactly happened because it's a legal matter. If the same thing occurred, I would do it all over again. I have no regrets."

It's interesting to note that Huerta had to often restrain himself from going into too much detail. There are still plenty of legal hoops to jump through. Huerta says he do it again but you wonder if he'd like to erase the end of the brawl where he apparently got pretty vicious? The appearance actually makes you wonder who's handling his case. It's a little surprising that a lawyer would allow him to speak at all on this sort of platform.
