I wasn't going to tell you guys exact numbers because I know some of yall are going to say "Why are you spending all that money on audio equipment" but idgaf what anybody thinks anymore. I am and has always been an audiophile that enjoys high quality, high fidelity sound systems. I slowly put in over 13k in my last truck, but in this truck, I'm about to go all out. I've already paid for all of the equipment and in late July/ early August, I will pay the balance when the truck has been completed. I've always done all of my instalations in previous vehicles but I'm going to have this company that deals with a ton of EV instalations and this guy is one of the best in the country! Call me stupid, that's OK. I sit back in my ride for hours and take in the sounds... the shit is therapy for me.

Anyway, here is what is going in my 2023 F-150 Lightning in late July...

Do what you love man. Thats what its all about.

Have you tested the soundproofing of the 150's cabin? It'd suck to put all that work in and road noise is a factor.

Thanks. The roof, floor, doors and panels will all be deadened. All of the seats and carpet will be removed and the whole floor will be treated. In my old truck, i added over 200 lbs of deadening material. This truck will be more than that. You can't put equipment like that in without completely sound deadening the vehicle. My last vehicle is an F-150 and the cabin's acoustics is very nice when properly sound treated.

Getting into VR gaming and flight/racing simulations.

I keep adding things to my wishlist. I'm starting to think what have I gotten myself into.

This is the type of setup I am trying to get to...

I just got Into Sim Racing, Still building, making changes and additions to my Sim Rig Had to remodel my man cave office, I'm gonna post the finished Rig In the man cave thread when I'm done.

I want to go all in with a flight simulator. My cousin is a DCS World fan. What I read many people love X-plane. Which one do you recommend?

I can’t really say. I’m only into Sim Racing, The two software titles you mentioned have well over 3 thousand dollars worth of downloadable content each:eek2: If you can’t get both, I would just research each one and get the one that offers the most of what you are looking for in a flight sim.

If you want to fly fighter aircraft in combat missions, then DCS no doubt. However, some of the aircraft are study level, meaning the level of detail in operating the aircraft radar, weapons systems, etc is such that people write guides that are in the hundreds of pages. One such example is the F-14, which is highly detailed. However, you don't have to operate at that level if you don't want. You also want a good hands on throttle and stick (HOTAS) with a lot of programmable buttons.

XPlane is great if you want to fly civilian aircraft that have high fidelity flight models. There are a few fighter aircraft you can fly, but you're not operating in a combat theater like with DCS. If you want to fly an Airbus or Boeing aircraft around the world, then go with Xplane. Also, don't forget Microsoft Flight Sim. Although the flight modeling is considered by many to be inferior to Xplane, the scenery is incredible and the flight models are constantly improving. If you go this route, look at the Honeycomb Alpha yoke and Bravo throttle.

As a pilot, I'll use Xplane to do instrument practice and visual work such as flying a cross country flight in the sim that I plan to fly in real life.

Sweet setup.

Are you planning to add motion? If not I would suggest some force feedback. I have 8 transducers on my rig. One for each wheel, one for acceleration, one for deceleration, one for the engine, and one for the transmission. It's a game changer, and using the rig without turning it one just feels numb now.

I will post some pics of my rig later.
