I can dig all that. But in the eyes of the Saint, it was ALL OR NOTHING when it came to this real estate thing. He saw that downtown property as the ONLY WAY to get out from under the influence of 'the game'. Losing the property was a 'sign of weakness' to his 'ENEMIES'. This is the ONLY reason he was trying so hard to get the money. ANY money (just like a crackhead). The reality is that he still could have found his way out of it (as has already been pointed out by D24OHA) with the lesser properties that he ALREADY OWNED and was free and clear of any debts with. It just would take longer than he previously planned. In the drug game, Saint was the King. But in the real estate, they were PARTNERS. She might have been a minority partner but her knowledge was equal to that of Saint.


I contend that Franklin Saint became ADDICTED (as I said in my previous post) to the allure of fast money and that is what drove him completely insane. To the point of every act he committed in the last two episodes. Alcohol was the crutch that actually brought him back to a little reality.

Nah he was addicted to getting HIS MONEY back, if he had gotten HIS 37 million back then none of what happened in the last 2 episodes would have happened, even if there had been like a million in Peaches safe things would have been different. Him and Veronique were never equal because she came along and helped build an empire that had already been started so her stealing that money was wrong on all levels. Him asking Leon for his 3 million was when he'd lost his mind but this came after losing 72 million, losing 37 million, losing 800k and then getting back only 12k of 5 million you lost from early on

I'm getting the sense that people believe that Teddy took that $70+ mil to fight for democracy. No, I don't believe that. Teddy took that money cause he wanted it. Saint was living lovely off the dope Teddy was selling him. Saint had a girl that was down for him and a baby on the way. What did Teddy have? A failed marriage that produced a son that he hardly ever spent time with because of his dedication to the job. I believe he felt a certain way about that and took the money in order to create a similar life with his old fling. Good old fashion greed, plain and simple. His current girlfriend to him he should give Saint the money back. His ex-wife said the same thing. Saint should have never trusted Teddy. He also should not have put his money in Puerto Rico cause it's too easy for the Gov. to get their hands on it.. Swiss bank account was the move he missed and it cost him. As they say in chess, Saint got mated on the board.

That $73 mil was already earmarked for the CIA hence why the handler was there. They were NEVER going to let Franklin take that money and ride off into the sunset.

Want to talk about speculations!! Imagine if Saint hadn't gotten the upper hand. If Oso hadn't turned on Teddy. Teddy making plans with that other chic to elope with that money. They would have had to KILL his handler, then disappear. But I don't think Teddy was in love with that chic anyway. Probably would've ended up killing her too. His wife and child would never be safe. Even in 1986, CIA had damn near UNLIMITED resources (Reagan era, George Bush in charge I think). They had eyes and ears all over the world. Even in countries that weren't 'friendly'

I’m trying to figure out what do people think Franklin was gonna do? Was he not in real estate? He wasn’t gonna use it on drugs….he was on to a more legit shit….im not seeing how it was gonna hurt him to get his 37 million.

teddy told franklin the truth when he was tied up. he took because he "felt" he deserved it and not franklin. franklin made most of that money when teddy was kicked out the agency. he hated that the operation was flourishing with the other dude as franklin's handler. once he seen how much saint made he wasn't feeling that. tried to control him like the agency controlled him.
 
If you re-watch season 4, episode 1.. there is a lot of things to notice, again.

1. How happy Cissy was when Alton was around compared to the last 2 seasons in comparison to how miserable of a cunt she became
2. How peaches was looking extra bummy and a bit nervous looking at the addicts when they were walking in the courtyard. The camera man focused on his reactions.
3. How Leon was scared Frankin was gonna kill him and how Leon drew a gun on Franklin

Noooooo!! Not the case. Remember your history. The entire Iran-Contra scenario was already playing out in the NATIONAL media at the time and the official SCANDAL dropped the very next year INTERNATIONALLY in 1987!! Worldwide attention on the CIA, the (Nicaraguan) Contras. All those guns all those drugs!! That shit had EVERYBODY'S business on front street. Little ole Drug Kingpin Franklin Saint would have made a VERY good witness (if he hadn't lost his mind). So would Alton. ESPECIALLY him since he was already a highly controversial political figure. Hell, Cissy might have gotten out of prison too. Since Teddy would now officially be classified as a ROGUE agent and killing him could have been argued as self defense. Don't forget all the BODIES Teddy already had. CIA had to answer for all that shit in 87
