As long as Franklin didn't have "their" money and handed over "their" prisoner ( the KGB dude).....they would leave him alone. In the 1st season we see Alton as a strung out man defeated in life by the government.....and Franklin looked at him with all the disdain and revulsion in the world......

If Teddy had stuck with his story of Alton still being alive do you think she would have still shot him?
When V chose Franklin over her mom, when momma said "come on let's go," "you see who he is," "you know how this ends...."

Once Franklin choked her,(not sure if he hit her) and then sold off the properties (future stable income) in an insane downward spiral.......she had to be out......her mom was right and Franklin disappointed her like so many other people in her past. As much as I hate to say, she was right ultimately.....

I agreed with everybody who said she did it out of emotion because for one her whole reason for coming back to the U.S. and working with the KGB was to kill Teddy for killing Alton, then when Teddy lied to her and said Alton was still alive you could see how that affected her.

I'd have to agree. The CIA wasn't really interested in Franklin. They wanted Teddy before the DEA and FBI could get to him. Cissy did them a favor cause if she hadn't put hot lead in Teddy, he would have jumped in the car with the other agent and end up missing. There is a big difference between Franklin telling people the CIA was dealing drugs and an actual agent at the head of the operation saying that the CIA was selling dope. Teddy would be way more believable than Franklin so Teddy was gonna die one way or the other. That's why the other agent slid to the left after the shots were fired. The last loose end was the KGB agent and they took care of that quickly. Franklin didn't even have a chance to have a drink to calm his nerves before he got beeped by the feds.
I can't believe how many people on here and social media are stuck on the “Verinique rode with him until he put his hands on her and then she did what's best for her child“ and “Cissy sacrificed herself to free him because knew the money would ruin him when none of that was even remotely true based on the events of the show and they just block out the part where Franklin wanted the millions so he could get out of the game. In the Veronique case she went behind his back trying to sell the property and when he confronted her and put his hands around her neck for it she took ALL the money he had left and dipped. It's clear as day that Cissy shot Teddy for revenge for killing Alton, if she had killed Teddy after Franklin got the money, Teddy would have been dead, Franklin would have his money, he would have gotten out the game and became a legit businessman
I can dig all that. But in the eyes of the Saint, it was ALL OR NOTHING when it came to this real estate thing. He saw that downtown property as the ONLY WAY to get out from under the influence of 'the game'. Losing the property was a 'sign of weakness' to his 'ENEMIES'. This is the ONLY reason he was trying so hard to get the money. ANY money (just like a crackhead). The reality is that he still could have found his way out of it (as has already been pointed out by D24OHA) with the lesser properties that he ALREADY OWNED and was free and clear of any debts with. It just would take longer than he previously planned. In the drug game, Saint was the King. But in the real estate, they were PARTNERS. She might have been a minority partner but her knowledge was equal to that of Saint.
I contend that Franklin Saint became ADDICTED (as I said in my previous post) to the allure of fast money and that is what drove him completely insane. To the point of every act he committed in the last two episodes. Alcohol was the crutch that actually brought him back to a little reality.
*Evidence that he lost his mind* He wanted Leon to give him ALL THE MONEY he had (3 mil) for the downtown project (even though it wouldn't even be enough) leaving him high and dry in the business that he was already in. If Leon gives all that money, he is DEAD, he has nothing to pay for anything to his people. But Saint ain't give a rat's ass about that. He really would have tried to rob his best friend (his brotha really) if all them cats were not there. CRAZY

Nah he was addicted to getting HIS MONEY back, if he had gotten HIS 37 million back then none of what happened in the last 2 episodes would have happened, even if there had been like a million in Peaches safe things would have been different. Him and Veronique were never equal because she came along and helped build an empire that had already been started so her stealing that money was wrong on all levels. Him asking Leon for his 3 million was when he'd lost his mind but this came after losing 72 million, losing 37 million, losing 800k and then getting back only 12k of 5 million you lost from early on
She was evil and selfish and they trying to make it seem like she wanted to save Franklin....TOO LATE he was selling crack for the government. Too late to be moral police now. At that stage he wanted the money to fund his real estate. The best case scenario. And this bitch couldn't see that. She got me hot. Her intentions were selfish as fuck because SHE couldn't live with herself.
