He was built by Fox News and went right around the Republican political infrastructure. He’s a Fox News politician, not a Republican. They had him on Fox and Friends spewing birtherism and other shit for years and the Fox News audience liked him more than they liked any other republican.
The real power flex is Fox News showing that they ran the Republican party not the other way around. And any republicans Fox News got after, they lost.
And now, Fox created this monster and they’re seeing he took their audience from them. Trump has started calling out Fox news to keep them in line. Because now he can feed his base through twitter and memes on facebook. He doesn’t need Fox News.

What everybody seems to be missing is that we've seen all this before. It's called McCarthyism and the architect behind it (and joe mccarthy) was roy cohn. The man who was, shockingly, donald trump's mentor.
Now granted, never has the blueprint been ramped up to this level but it's still the same misinformation and lies; vilifying the press and anyone who would challenge them; stacking the deck (ie.: the courts) with people loyal to the cause so when and after due process is invoked not only have you lost, but precedent has been established. It's a fucking nightmare but we (and the Dems: for god's sake get your heads out of your asses) need to be clear on exactly what we're fighting here.

The charge of high crimes and misdemeanors covers allegations of misconduct by officials, such as perjury of oath, abuse of authority, bribery, intimidation, misuse of assets, failure to supervise, dereliction of duty, unbecoming conduct, refusal to obey a lawful order, chronic intoxication, and tax evasion.

During the primaries, I was posting stories about his social media use. He called his twitter account "The Monster" and republicans were scared to death of him turning the monster on them. He was bragging about it way back during the primaries before he had even won. Trump understood the power of turning the base into a mob and then controlling that mob. He got it way before the rest of us.. no one really understood what he was saying when he said that he could shoot someone on Fifth Ave and not lose a supporter. He knew he had them way back then...way more than anyone had realized.
And if he tells the congress fuck off, I’m not saying shit, then what are they going to do? Impeach him harder?
And a fired up Republican base vs a regular dem base gave us Trump in the first place.

They're afraid of Trump... not just now... about what he'll do when he's out of office. if Trump feels slighted by the party IN ANY WAY, he'll tell his followers that he couldn't MAGA because the GOP didn't support him. He's already done that for his base (about the promises he couldn't deliver like ACA repeal and replace).
That's why he won't let McCain go. Because he's going to use McCain a lot later when he talks about his promises. I had it delivered until McCain with the "thumbs down". he just had to completely kill McCain legacy beforehand.
