KG two missed free throws are you serious?

was it 3 consecutive missed FTAs?

and he missed a couple tips too. the last one while being boxed by jordan farmar. jordan farmar.

i think the fouls took him out of any kind of rhythm in the 1st half. his teammates been picking up the slack for him.

exciting and disappointing finish at the same time.

Unbelievable

Ray Allen fouls out
KG: 5 fouls
PP: 5 fouls

NBA wanted this Game 6 to happen. :)

See you in Boston. Lakers still have not impressed me at all but they got this one. I said Celts in 6 and it will go down like that. This series should have had a broom involved.

they said before game that he was out for this one and the next.

I thought it was a wait and see type thing. That actually concerns me.

I'm getting the sinking feeling that the Lakers can steal Game 6..I need to marinate on this and see if that is the way I'm going to bet.

Shit they stole Game 5. These guys should be ashamed of themselves. Leads of 19 then 14 in the 4th quarter and you almost lose to a team with the whole team in foul trouble or hurt. What have the Lakers done to say they will win in Boston? Someone give me 3 good reasons.

Yep, it will be a better celebration if/when Boston wins on their home court.

**Waiting for the Kobe fans to say that he single-handedly willed them to victory.**

1.) David Stern wants it that way.
2.) The ratings bonanza of a Game Seven.
3.) Saying that a Kobe-led Laker team was the first team in history to win a title after being in a 3-1 hole.

What matters to me is that I called the winner of all five games so far. This one will be interesting. I will think about this while I eating my blueberry muffins with an equal amount of blueberries in them tomorrow

better make sure somebody starts your car for you too!

Sniff...Sniff...

I smell home cooking...

KG chokes

Nice steal by Kobe in a crucial situation...the first I can remember.

Pierce is the Truth

Posey....well, I've said it all along.

Cassell showed up....

Nice job by the refs to get the Celts in the penalty

Phil left Fisher and Odom in with game on the line.

Game 6...

I will just wait for Rothstien....I mean Rollie to fill me in....

Thats why I like his blueberry muffins

I want the Lakers to win just because of comments like this. The Lakers dont need Shaq for shit.

Kobe can play but his shoulders are too narrow to carry a team to a crown, so to speak. Something's missing when he talks post-game. He shoulda gone to college to gain that part of knowledge and maturity.

Is the Shaq info a true fact or opinion? How many Championships have they won since he booked? The facts are the facts, even if you are blind to them. Yeah, eventually The Lakers will win one, but in this current era it ain't gonna happen.

It's like when the 76ers refused to give Moses Malone more money after they won the Championship and Moses got traded to Washington. Malone vowed the 76ers would never win against him and they didn't (for a loooong time!). Dominant players haunt the psyche of former teammates and entire organizations sometimes.

Winning in Boston in front of the home fans is the way this story ends! :D

I must change my opinion

Kobe did foul Pierce......

however, Celts had many opportunities to win reguardless.

No Excuses

i don't care about a foul or no-call on that play.

when you are put in a position to have a notorious turnover machine like paul pierce handling the ball, all bets are off.

fakers got a big win at home. next.

What I liked about the foul discrepancy is that the refs tried to balance it out at the end to make it look like they called a fair one.

KG didn't play well, but it was Rondo that cost them the game. If he had an average game, they would have won. The papers in Boston are crucifying him right now. KG has a bad game every series, and he follows up with two above average ones. He still hasn't had that one great one in the playoffs this year.

I think Doc made a mistake starting Powe over P.J. Hopefully next game he starts him over Powe and Perkins can get limited minutes. Having Powe in the game forced KG to play center. We all agree that he can't do that for extended periods.

I'm leaning towards the Lakers in Game 6. I need to see tomorrows paper to be see how the practice went. (I scan both the Boston and L.A. newspapers.)

I also see that Ray Allen had a family emergency and had to leave right after the game.

I agree

Pierce seems to dribble high...easy pickings

However,KG had three free throws that would have made a hugh difference...

True, however those two ticky tacks were a bit questionable.

Down here the Heat used to call him "Knick Bavetta"

True this. KG seemd to let the moment get to him.

This is the one time I think Boston should blow the Lakers out the water.

I also see that Ray Allen had a family emergency and had to leave right after the game.

I saw that as well.

I also think Doc was off mentally because of his own Father situation.

maybe a little too simplistic, but IMO it boils down to lack of court time for kevin garnett due to foul trouble (deserved or not).

with kevin garnett only on the floor for 11 out of the first 24 minutes, the fakers were able to push the scoring. notice they cracked the elusive 100 point mark in G5. the celtics ain't scoring 100 points too often.

will things return to status quo in G6? only RF seems to know. LOL!

Celtics delayed in LA
Posted by Marc J. Spears, Globe Staff June 16, 2008 04:37 PM

As of 4 p.m. EDT today, the Celtics' plane was still on the ground in Los Angeles due to mechanical issues.

At 5:30 p.m., Celtics radio announcer Cedric Maxwell reported on sports radio WEEI that a 757 had been flown in to take the Celtics back to Boston on a direct flight.

Celtics guard Ray Allen, who left immediately after last night game due to an illness with one of his children, is expected to play Tuesday night in Boston. His child is expected to be OK.

As the Celtics waited at LA International Airport for their delayed flight to leave, team spokesman Jeff Twiss told the Associated Press he expected Allen to take a later airplane to Boston. And, Twiss said, "I don't believe" Allen will miss Game 6.

I was referring to this specific game, its Kobes team so he's gonna get to credit for a win and the blame for a loss. Whether its warranted or not thats just how it goes

:lol:Come on man how you gonna agree with that seeing as Pierce almost single handedly won the game for the Celtics, if you got a man that has scored 38 points (most on drives to the hole) and assisted on about 16 others then him having the ball in his hands is the only logical decision

no, getting the ball in his hands is the only logical decision.

since you probably aren't aware, let me fill you in on a couple things.

paul pierce was the celtics team leader in TOs this season. almost DOUBLE the amount of the next man. not really a good look for coach rivers having paul pierce take over the ball handling responsibilities.

paul pierce has been in the league 10 years. 5 of those he was in the NBA'S TOP TEN in TOs :puke:. putting the ball in his hands as a ball handler is placing your team in a precarious position.

this is the SAME decision (mistake?) coach rivers faced in the cleveland series. coach rivers lost faith in rajan rondo's ability to perform in that series, so he went with ray allen. this series, coach rivers lost faith in rajan rondo's ability to perform and he has tapped paul pierce.

paul pierce has been having his way (in terms of scoring) most of the series against the fakers. so i would want the ball in his hands FOR SCORING, but NOT ball handling.

He had the ball in his hands for the sole purpose of scoring, Doc Rivers didn't tap him to setup the offense he tapped him to be the offense
