one of my fav progs for the G1 is "TOUCHDOWN" it's like Microsoft Outlook I use it for my business emails, my contacts, appointments, etc... It's only a 5 trial

anybody know where i can get a crack or a serial for this program? I don't wanna pay for this shit. i already paid for Better Keyboard and Open Home..

I've been using Nero 8, but their is room for improvement

I was planning to make that switch when the Morrison anyways. Under $100 and better specs.

I just added the HTC Hero keyboard to my G1 and it is a beast. Here are the steps and tools you need.

D/L the file from here.

1. Install eoeAppInstaller or ASTRO file manager (I already had the latter so that's what I used)

2. Copy HTC_IME.apk to your sd card

3. go to menu, settings, applications, and check the box to allow unknown sources

4. Launch eoeAppInstaller or ASTRO file manager, go to HTC_IME.apk, click it and select install

5. When it's done, exit and restart the phone

6. Go to menu, settings, locale and text, you'll see a new option called touch input. Select the check mark and go into touch input options to specify preferences. Don't mess with the calibration option as this doesn't work on the magic (I tried, it just force closes)

7. To activate the keyboard, go anywhere where you need it, e.g. start an sms, then click and hold the text box, select input method, select touch input (you can change back anytime in the same way) and that's it!

Enjoy.

I dont know about the name of the skin but that clock is available In the market place. Search for Weather Widget - Donate. Its like a dollar.

It's called Touch Flo Made by HTC.

There has been a project for about a year or so for porting Android to various HTC made WinMo phones (www.androindonhtc.com). No flashing involved, it's really a dual boot situation where you boot into winmo and then run a program called Haret which acst a a bootloades and reboots your phone into Android.

im fairly new to the G1 i havent had it for a month yet..but I usually hack everything i own i.e my wii, ipod touch, psp, etc..

but i don't know much about the G1 yet. it can be jailbroken???

the gadget pro video help me because I need to actually see it and then do it.

Because the first time i tried i thought i bricked my phone because it was stuck on the G1 screen.

then when i looked at the video instructions i found out that was normal and suppose to happen.

plus I did it with out all that Ex2 and Ex3. it's easy and worth it.

I played with my phone for like two hours just setting up the screens and my favs and adding pics.

Props to this thread because I would never knew about hero root etc etc if not for it.

That's what I heard, That it lags a lot. I'm happy with the standard Rom with the Mytouch right now but I did peep this video an this looks hot.

Can some one suggest a Hero Rom that doesn't need to have a partition created or a new radio and spl updated?? I'm still new to all this and its annoying not getting clear instructions on how to do those things. So I'm trying to avoid it if I can.

You are going to need a new radio and spl no matter what to get your phone rooted you will need the latest versions so hero can run properly

but the partition part was annoying for me so I went watch this video


seriously this 15 year old kid broke it down well anyone can do it
