ok ya'll got me, I finally think I have the balls to root my G1, i've heard enough people say it's simple and there's enough how to links and ways to back up the original OS.

So my question is......what is the best rom right now for me to put on my g1? I've been hearing a lot about Hero, but they say you can't use your bluetooth with it................I can't fk with it, without being able to use my bluetooth. So what's the best and most stable one out right now, that runs bluetooth? thx

you may have to get JF's crack version of cupcake that might run bluetooth but im not sure...check out XDA forums you'll find more than your answer over there...im waiting on an 8GB microsdhc so i can take mine to the Hero ROM

shyt, they have a million different versions over there and updates...........................so this JF cracked version of cupcake does run bluetooth? with that said does it have enough features more than cupcake? Like is it worth it? thanks

IMO any hack is basically worth it because it allows you to do more with the device...as far as bluetooth working in JF's Cupcake, im not sure but I haven't heard or read that it doesn't work...just look for JF's latest cupcake crack, read around you'll find what you need...i know it looks mad confusing and there are a million and one cracks but if you read you'll know exactly what you need and what to do

documents-to-go-dataviz-android.jpg

Android users can work more efficiently and easily with the recent Documents to Go update that provides PDF and PowerPoint viewing and also enhancements to the existing Word and Excel document viewing and editing features.

With Dataviz’s Documents To Go, users can download, open, save and send attachments effortlessly. They can also access the files which are stored on expansion cards with the built-in file browser. Security is also offered owing to the password-protected files. The update presents the latest PDF To Go via which users can view important reference materials. They can avail of page viewing, word wrapping, auto-rotate, bookmarks, search, select and copy text, and more.

The application features Slideshow To Go that facilitates users to ‘flick’ through slides, review notes, rehearse timing and even make last minute modifications to presentations easily. With Live Folder, they can access recently used documents swiftly. The app also offers scrolling, panning, navigating and editing options for optimized rendering on a small screen. Documents To Go is available in English, French, Italian, German and Spanish languages. The application also supports Office 2007 file formats.

Driven by InTact Technology, the app ensures that all original file formatting is preserved when a file is edited on a smartphone and forwarded.

Now Dataviz is also offering free Word & Excel viewers for all Android-based devices. It looks like this app will feature in the ‘must have’ list of the workaholic Android users.

Pixelpipe Announces 50 New Mobile Apps for Android, iPhone, and Nokia
pixelpipe_android_lots_of_apps.jpg

Pixelpipe, a great service that allows its users to distribute documents and media files to over 100 social media services, just released over 50 new single-purpose applications through the Android Market. The company also submitted the same number of apps to the iPhone App Store and the Nokia Ovi Store. Why so many apps? As Pixelpipe's CEO and founder Brett Butterfield tells us, the company realized that about half of Pixelpipe's users only used the service to forward files to one service.

In order to serve this market better and to link its name closer to the brand names of the services it supports, the company decided to release co-branded versions of its mobile app for 50 of the 100 services it currently supports. Pixelpipe will sell these co-branded versions of its app for $0.99 and a pro version with support for all the 100 services that Pixelpipe currently works with will sell for $1.99.

The iPhone apps still have to go through Apple's approval process, which can take a while, but the Android apps will be available today and the Nokia apps should be available in about one week.
Pixelpipe's App Factory

As Butterfield told us, the company has automated most of the app development process, so whenever Pixelpipe adds a new service, a new mobile app can also be created with very little effort.

App Store SEO

Overall, this seems like a very smart move. The company started to experiment with co-branded Android apps for a few services like Facebook, Twitter, and Photobucket a few days ago. As these apps actually include the name of the service in their titles ("Twitter for Pixelpipe"), they are much easier to find for consumers who would otherwise never have heard of Pixelpipe. After all, as we pointed out earlier today, most users rely on Top 10 lists and browsing through categories to find interesting new mobile apps.

As Pixelpipe told us, these apps are already outselling the company's own app by a significant margin and Pixelpipe has heard from a number of services who would like to partner with the company and promote the apps.

We think this is an interesting story, as it points out some of the problems developers face when trying to market their apps. Also, while social media mavens love the fact that Pixelpipe Pro can send documents, audio, video, and pictures to 100 other social media services, for most users, this is simply overkill and just generates confusion.

No mention of games so: Download SNesNoid (Super Nitendo emulater) from Marketplace then download your favorite roms from: http://www.theoldcomputer.com/ or where u get your roms from. Plays pretty much all of the Snes games.

Note: U can download roms directly to your SD card by using the STEEL web browser (from Marketpalce)

Porn: U can watch porn on your G1 by going to Ifap.to . Also if u want to download vids to your SD card or watch/download Tube8.com vids then use the STEEL browser.

Ok that's it for now I'm going to play some more Super Punch Out.

As far as roms go, try going with cyanogens 3.8.61 rom its the latest stable rom or try cyanogens 3.9.9.1 rom that's listed as experimental. Then download the cyanogen updater app from the market so you can easily update to the newest version when you want.. JF roms are out dated, and there's a ton of newer versions or updates that aren't in them... I'm currently using cyanogens 3.9.9.1 right now and its pretty stable. And battery life is great, and the rom is fast...

thanks everyone for this thread

I'm thinking about getting a 16 gb micro card

I already have movies and music on my 8 gb but I really want to push it further.

Plus I have have over 90 comic books on it too.

just got my 8GB microsdhc class 6 in the mail today:dance::dance::dance:now im definitely gonna try and flash this Hero ROM, hopefully I'll be running Hero by the end of the day

How come u didn't get the Mytouch??

Slow down...It took me long enough to decide to get the G1, My head still trying to sort it all. The 2 phones I was looking at were the un-locked Iphone and the G1. With T-mobile allegedly cracking down on Iphone users, I figured G1 is best for me and I like the way a friend of mines works.

Ive never used the G1 but im waiting to see this phone supposed to be coming to sprint.
Next Month
