Good hype's being built of late with a shitload of DIAZ quotables during the media call and press conference. He's in fine form, and it should be interesting how the main event plays out on Saturday night (March 16th).

Also on the card ... HENDRICKS / CONDIT. ELLENBERGER / MARQUARDT, and more. Hendricks has been angling for that title shot for awhile. Condit's coming off the 5-round loss to GSP back in November 2012. Ellenberger's been a consistent fighter over the years, and has come close to getting a shot in the past. Marquardt's been hit and miss. He KO'd the fuck out of Tyron Woodley in the summer of 2012, but got completely dominated by Tariq Saffedine a few months ago (both fights in Strikeforce).

This is going to be a damn good fight. I'll tell you this though. Diaz will have to knock GSP out in order to walk out with that title. If it comes down to a decision, he's not winning...And Hendricks has been a man on a mission and wants his title shot. Should be a fun card, up and down.
 
I got GSP winning by decision and then Nate will be fired the next day. If Hendricks can't knock out Condit I see him using the same strategy he had against Diaz In order to win by decision. Should bring a good night. They Gonna need extra security.

For the fam' - keep an eye out out for the weigh-ins today. Here in Canada they air them on one of the PPV preview channels in HD, which is kinda dope. Set a recording for that joint in the afternoon. Years ago I'd watch the recorded stream off of Youtube. Keep an eye out for them @ the UFC site, Youtube, or one of your fave MMA spots (or see if your PPV preview channel runs them too).

Diaz put on a show during the media conference call & press conference during the past 1 - 2 weeks.

Wish GSP wasn't fighting in Montreal so much over the years. Have him in Vegas or overseas ... somewhere neutral. And this is coming from a Canadian here! Clearly though he's still their biggest long-term PPV buy rate draw.

Diaz has done a very good job getting under his skin and throwing GSP off his game.

Hendricks has been a man on a mission in the past year and a half. 12 second KO of Fitch in Dec. 2011. 46 second KO of Kampmann in Nov. 2012. Are you fucking kidding me?!

Tough to say with MARQUARDT. Looked great finishing Woodley last summer. Looked awful and lost against Saffedine a few months ago when Saffedine damn near kicked his leg off (think of ALDO/FABER from 2010).

Ellenberger's been a consistently good fighter over the years. Only hindrance is his cardio. He begins to fade after a few rounds.

Always been a fan of CONDIT (dating back to the WEC championship days). He's a fighter's fighter. Good fightgame IQ in there.

I'm picking COTE, MEIN, CARVALHO, DILLASHAW, CRUICKSHANK, DURAN, STORY, RICCI, and CAMOZZI in the other scraps.

Cant wait for the main event :dance:...It will be Diaz bjj vs GSP's wrestling. GSp may dance around a little on his feet,but he really wants no parts of Nick's Boxing. But I think Gsp will pull out the W by mixing it up and Keeping Nick off balance.

Hendricks has been on a roll, but Condit is a tough out. I think Hendricks has to wrestle in this one, cuz he could definitely lose the stand up in this one. I wish they gave Hendricks someone else because he clearly deserves the shot. If he loses, who does Gsp fight next? (If Gsp retains the title).

If GSP struggles with Diaz we not gonna see a Silva vs GSP super fight.
But this will be a good ass fight.Wish that Silva fight wasn't so far away. :sad:

I don't think we'll ever see Silva vs GSP unless Silva gets destroyed by someone else, first... and even then GSP might demand he comes down to 170lb. He doesn't want any part of Silva.

Condit TKO Hendricks in 2; Hendricks dangerous for as long as he's standing

Ellenber TKO 3 Marquardt; Ellenberger has better stamina

Still, I gotta give credit to GSP. The fact he was able to go five rounds and survive Condit is a testament to his greatness. His style just seems to grab, take down and .... and... damn I miss the old GSP.

I am going out to the bar to see it fuck watching online.

I am not into that Nick Diaz dude that much. I want to see GSP beat him. But, I am not too sure he will. They both are good on the ground. But, Diaz has the striking over GSP. It would see he has the advantage over GSP.

On a radio interview, Diaz said that he thinks GSP is on roids and that UFC probably knows and doesn't care.:(

He also said that he wouldn't be surprised if he fails the drug test again b/c he's not sure if he quit smoking soon enough.

Gonna be interesting to see the PPV numbers for the fight in the days following. Can't quite recall what they were in November 2012 for GSP-CONDIT ... props to Carlos on making a good fight of it and going 25 mins with the champ. That 3rd round was wild with the headkick.

I'm thinking the following / how about you?

- GSP - He hasn't lost since the spring of 2007
- HENDRICKS - I want to pick Condit (well-rounded), but Johnny's god damn punching power
- ELLENBERGER - His cardio is hit/miss sometimes, but he's aggressive. Marquardt looked great against Woodley, and terrible against Saffedine.
- RICCI - Didn't look good in the TUF finale, but is talented.
- RING - Steady record with plenty of decisions. Although Camozzi is on a 3-fight or so winning streak. 3 or 4.
- COTE - Always been a fan. In great shape at 170.
- CARVALHO - Has long paid his dues. Good fighter.
- MEIN - Easily one of the best young Canadian talents.
- CRUICKSHANK - Plenty of fun to watch for his striking. He destroyed Henry Martinez.

- DILLASHAW - Steadily getting better and better in recent years. Got quickly finished by Dodson at the TUF finale that season he was on.

Agree with most of your picks, though GSP has been mostly underwhelming as of late even though his record is hard to deny: Shields, Koscheck, Condit--just to name a few. But he has to win in dominant fashion and I simply see him taking down Diaz and not much else. Before his KO loss he was a beast. Even after he gained revenge against Serra, he seems docile. Maybe he's preserving his body for a longer MMA career?

Still, it's hard to root against Diaz, bad attitude and all:


BTw, HUnt may be a bad fight for JDS as this is a fight that will be on the feet.
