" he believes all Gods are selfish and care only abut themselves so his plan is to kidnapp people that they care about because that means they will come..... and help.... them.......(wtf? )

hilarious.
And right after he kidnapped them there was a "fuck them kids" moment.
Parent: he took all the children
Thor: we must get them back. Jane what have you been up to?

Conservatives are bat shit crazy, but Im also tired of this segment of fans asking for gayness in the MCU. Started with them asking for Cap and Bucky to be gay, for goodness sakes. Nah, leave it the fuck alone.

Understood.

I just wish folk would just the show eat they popcorn and move on.

I want everyone to be represented sure it's the constant complaining that gets me

Bro EVERYBODY is complaining. I mean not saying whether you like the movie or not, those debates are normal.

Every movie now, somebody's mad that there was a 30 second scene of women being heroes. Or not enough women heroes.
The rock man was gay for 5 seconds and niggas are swearing off the MCU lmao.

I'd love to have the days back where you just watched a movie and ignored the parts you didn't like.

Trust me fam Im not on their side, they ruin everything that comes out unless it passes their maga test. Thats on them.

I gotta say, I dont want everyone to be represented, just for representation's sake. Because I care about these characters. Dont make Magneto gay and Wolverine trans just because.

I hear they are giving Namor and the Atlanteans a Aztec/Inca origin. I dont really mind that because Namor never really had an origin tied to a nationality in the comics. I hope they can pull it off. I think its also because they want to differentiate him from Aquaman as much as humanly possible.

Co sign

But let me be clear

You can criticize complain whatever...

It's all good

But I'm from a different school.

You gotta respect the game.

There is a level of complaint that is just...

Absurd

Primarily when you can't do and don't know.

Also this need to FORCE everyone to agree.

Bad or good.

Debate is great! Been doing it since 1st grade

But it's the hate watching, the racist misogynistic gay bashing stuff.

You didn't like it?

Fine

Move on.

Don't EVER WATCH IT AGAIN.

why don't these people keep their promises?

They SWEAR on everything that they will never ever watch another marvel dc terminator predator etc etc movie again.

Never.

So please

Just do it.

I hear you and to be fair? Yeah there is a bit of that.

But here is the thing

I'm life long comic book guy

This ain't nothing new.

At all.

You can't be in that culture and let this stuff really bother you.

I remember when they made John Stewart green lantern bro

They lost their collective sh*t

No internet no social media no YouTube

Just pure in your face racist hate.

Batwoman gay, original green lantern gay

Later storm led the x men they mad mad

I could be here all day.

So I disagree with you.

Because even back then John Stewart, Black Panther etc etc was considered woke and forced

I understand now super boy and Robin and ice man are gay.

It's a little much for most I get it.

But that North Star been gay for decades before that and for THAT SPECIFIC group it was important

We cannot dictate who gets to be different. So it's ok for a minor Character but not a major one?

Miles Morales speaks to an under represented group.

So does Ms. Marvel.

Bro Canadians got emotional that Wolverine and Alpha Flight existed.

These images ARE important

They deserve to be seen.

And there is MILLIONS of different content right now

Why dwell on the ones not for you?

The worse part now is that if you do have an honest complaint, you might sound just like them.

I honestly wasnt down with this "King" Valkyrie stuff. Im watching the movie with my boys and they were like WTF. I shrugged and said hey its a movie, you know. I brought it up in a CBM message board and got banned. And trust me it wasnt no transphobic rant, just saying these kinds of stunts are confusing.

Nah, just to clarify we are confusing two things.

Im talking specifically about CBMs.

Taking characters from comics and changing them on screen just for representation sake.

I dont care about creating new characters and making them whatever. Or for example, Dumbledore's sexuality was never explored in the books and after the last book came out JK Rowling said he was gay. Ok, got no problem with that, she isnt changing him to appease others.

Representation should be born out of artistic creation. Not based on online social pressure.

Agreed

Just for arguments sake.

But the thing is what's the difference from when we used to write letters to the comics?

Those letters effected how Stan and Jack etc write and created.

This is entertainment

You HAVE TO service the audience

Without them you got nothing.

Now the complication is this..is the modern audience even REAL?

With bots and campaigns etc...

Even on bgol

Do we REALLY know what the audience wants?

That depends

What do the stats say????

One of the worse things in the world is philosophy that metrics are an accurate measurement of determining policy

Metrics works to sell cars...but it suck for things like war (Vietnam) or Banking policy ( Mortgage collapse in the 00s ) or Crime ( Stop and Frisk )

You not wrong

Damn Elon could have really used you a few weeks ago.

Everything is so toxic now. You should be able to to say you didn't like something and not be labeled hateful.

Agreed 100%

But it's a 2 way street

People can say you don't like something and not insult those who do as sheep.

And it's even easier if you don't like something?

Don't search comments and threads to argue about.

If you don't like it?

Don't like it - don't argue it and move.

We no longer live in a space where someone who doesn't like something REALLY CARES about why someone else does.

Or is trying to be convinced otherwise.

Why dwell on something you hated?

Well, its one audience but that audience is segmented and each group wants different things.

Its on us to let these guys create.

And support them when they create something outside of the norm.

What's most important is that the creators arent told NO by management because "blacks dont sell" or "we dont want to piss them off".

Im saying all this, but trust, im waiting for these cacs, their wiki torches and halloween costumes when Captain America 4 comes out.

What u think?

Bro imma be right there with you

Do not worry about that

If your only experience with Thor is through the movies than you've had a sorry experience. Back in the day this was one of my favorite characters and an automatic purchase on Wednesday especially during the Simonson run. I should have been leery just off the basis that Tessa Thompson was in it. I;m still trying to figure out the plot of Dear White People.

Careful dude.
You're sounding alot like someone who's tired of being force fed:
"The Message"
maxresdefault.jpg

This makes you (and just about every CRITICAL THINKING member of the audience) the "enemy" of modern cinema.
:smh:

You mean like how you misinterpreted my statement about the deconstruction of modern superheroes as me actually advoctaing for White men...?
:puzzled:

I’ll just leave this here for everyone to decide if you were advocating for white men.

You definitely are bothered by white male heroes being deconstructed. Maybe you can tell us why you felt the need to specifically point out the deconstruction of white male heroes (ESPECIALLY WHITE your words) so you can’t claim you’re being misinterpreted.

Tell us why you specifically brought up white males and not black males.

Thor: Love & Thunder (in a nutshell)
- The continued "deconstruction" of the popular male (especially White) superhero by turning him into a joke.
- Female empowerment. No man is allowed to save, teach or be "better" than any woman/girl in any film or series.
- LGBTQ representation in every Disney theatrical release (Eternals, Dr. Strange, Lightyear & Thor). (Wakanda Forever is up next) :hmm:
- Teaching children that everyone is their own hero.
- Weak set up for the next or future film.

This shit is so tired...

White people are already upset this new Rings of Power series has black characters in it using the same arguments some in this thread are using.

Easy answer.
This represents the MCU at the height of their popularity:
AuTjqNvEHhML9GJz2q8TeJ-1200-80.jpg

Likewise; this is the DC universe at the height of their popularity:
DC-Comics-1980s.jpg

The overwhelmingly vast majority of these characters are White men and women.

The current trend in comic book related films, series and TV shows is to deconstruct any and all of these comic book heroes (ESPECIALLY WHITE MALE CHARACTERS) to fit what Hollyweird and some people on social media's "modern sensibilities" are. They're not interested in updating the classic characters. They're really only interested in checking off certain political, gender, racial or sexual orientation boxes.
They either race swap a previously White character for Black one:

Or; (for the sake of representation) turn a previously hetrosexual character both Black & LGBTQ:

Lastly, I DID give you a very direct example of a specific Black male hero (Lando Calrissian) being similaly deconstructed and you denounced it as having no value and that there's something wrong with me in seeking to have my masculinity validated through a Star Wars character.
:dunno:

I'll just highlight your own words so you can't say you're being misinterpreted.
