The Postal Service™ is temporarily suspending international mail acceptance for certain destinations due to inadequate transportation options or service disruptions within the country. Customers: please refrain from mailing items addressed to the countries listed here, until further notic

Starting today, the U.S. Postal Service is suspending acceptance of packages from the Chinese and Hong Kong postal services “until further notice,” according to its website.

The flow of letters and flats will not be affected, the Postal Service said.

The website did not give a reason for the suspension. The United States enacted a 10% tariff on all Chinese goods imports and closed a trade loophole known as the “de minimis” exemption that allows exporters to ship packages worth less than $800 into the United States duty-free and with minimal scrutiny.

The loophole has helped fuel the success of China-linked online retailers such as Temu and Shein, with cost-conscious U.S. shoppers ordering hundreds of millions of packages a year.

USPS to resume accepting China shipments

The U.S. Postal Service has agreed to resume accepting shipments from China, less than 24 hours after announcing it would stop doing so.

"Effective February 5, 2025, the Postal Service will continue accepting all international inbound mail and packages from China and Hong Kong Posts," it said in an updated statement Wednesday morning. "The USPS and Customs and Border Protection are working closely together to implement an efficient collection mechanism for the new China tariffs to ensure the least disruption to package delivery."

The Postal Service had earlier announced it would stop accepting packages from China, as well as Hong Kong, in the wake of the Trump administration's decision to impose a new round of 10% tariffs on all goods coming from the country.

Might be the first person in power that’s gonna create a renegade empire going against a lot of his demands for the survival of this country… sometimes it’s best to quit while you ahead b4 you create a great revolt against your agenda… sooner than later believe this gonna happen

All those content creators reviewing products on Temu and Shein.

Small businesses that buy and resell products from China.

They will have to increase shipping costs and skip the postal service and ship with DHL, UPS and FedEx.
Shipping cost be high already on some of the gear I get especially shoes

I bet Epacket is going away and I don't mind it. Y'all don't understand the deal that China gets to ship shit so cheaply to us it's ridiculous. They literally can sent shit for .50cents across the world and we're subsiding that shit. We pay them to send us shit on the cheap. Makes no sense.
