I hear you playa. I know you know. You're an educated fan and I appreciate talking football with ya.
However, I've been talking to Niner fans all day and some of them have been saying a lot of things that are not correct. They just look at the final score and say things like "we got blown out", "we got out muscled", "our offense sucks". Meanwhile a lot of them didn't watch the game, nor are they looking at the breakdown of things to understand what truly is going on.
I like my fellow Niner fans to talk educated football. Especially when it's regarding our own team.
I hear the talk about balance. Right now you're going to hear coaches say the "politically correct" thing. However, we know it's all bullshit.
Lets look at the play calling through the quarters.
Q1 - Run: 9 Pass: 6
Q2 - Run: 3 Pass: 6
Q3 - Run: 5 Pass: 7
Q4 - Run: 0 Pass: 16
I'd like to go back to what I mentioned earlier. After the Colts FG to make the score 13-7 in the 3rd quarter it was still a simple 1 score game. We could run everything in the playbook. The play calling breakdown was - Run: 1 Pass: 9. Where is the balance there???
On our scoring drive the play calling breakdown was Run: 5 Pass: 4. That is balanced play calling. Why didn't we go back to that? For those wondering the yardage breakdown on the scoring drive was Run: 78 Pass: 14. As you can clearly see, the running plays was how we moved the ball effectively.
I don't understand why coaches panic, after being down a touchdown...They start to go away that works for them and start passing the ball on every down.....![]()
Good thing we have that quality veteran depth at OLB, to help out Corey Lemonier.
Oh yea thats right, Harbaugh traded Parys Haralson & Cam Johnson for a stupid 7th rd pick!![]()
Parys Haralson traded to the Saints

Pisses me off because we need the depth. I was loving the idea of him and Corey backing up Aldon & Ahmad.
Last season when Aldon was clearly injured and Ahmad was beat up we couldn't take them off the field because we had no one. That's why I didn't want to let Haralson or Johnson go.
So,who is going to take Aldon's place, since he wont be playing for a month....![]()
Injury update:
Patrick Willis will be OUT for Thursdays game vs the Rams!
Willis is scheduled to undergo an MRI on groin.
Also, Nnamdi Asomugha is also scheduled to undergo an MRI on his right knee.
Nnamdi may be OUT for Thursdays game vs the Rams!

And of course we know about Aldon Smith.
Probably looks like at least a month in rehab, until Aldon gets his shit together!

did jim do that or did baalke do that trying to be cute? I'd go with Baalke
It was definitely Baalke. He loves to trade for extra picks. Only this time he traded a quality veteran backup (that we missed last season and needed this season) for a low ass pick.
I don't know how yall deal with Seahawk fans....![]()

we don't
They act like they're already Superbowl champ, when its only 3 weeks into the season..Talk logically to them. That usually shuts them up whenever I have a discussion with one of them.
5 out of 6 NFC playoff teams have a record lower than .500 right now. Yes Seattle is the loan team but they have played Carolina, beat up San Francisco and Jacksonville. Not exactly a hard schedule.
Super Bowls aren't won in September. Last season the Cardinals started 4-0. Look at how their season turned out.
There is still a lot of football to be played. Lets see how things play out.
They act like they're already Superbowl champ, when its only 3 weeks into the season..
I know every team have their fanatics, but dayum,I never seen a group of fans already proclaiming themselves Superbowl champs...
I know people who gave up on them for years and then all of a sudden their fans again...
Now they want throw little shots at my team...
I remember them being at the bottom of the AFC West constantly, when the division was the best in football...![]()
Against the Colts you called two runs in particular in the first quarter that were very successful, runs for RB Frank Gore outside that both were for more than 20 yards. What I want to know is, why did you choose not to call each play a second time? Was it new scheme? Were you surprised at how successful those particular runs worked out?
"Again, those plays probably would have been revisited, but really just the opportunity to call them didn't come up based on certain things that they adjusted to, how they adjusted. So, repeating successful plays is something we'll do. And just didn't have a chance to get back to them really."
Greg Roman is full of it
Like I said, the coaches are going to say things but we know they are bullshit.
It's not about calling the same plays, but calling a style of play that was effective. He's has been getting away from the run since last season. I'll take you guys back to the NFC Championship game. Remember this:

^That's Frank letting Jim know we need to run the ball. We were very pass happy to start the game and did not generate any offense.
After this the Falcons jumped out to 17-0 lead. We got get back into the game by running the ball. Our next possession started out with 4 straight runs. That opened things up in the passing game and Kaep made some completions. The drive was capped off with the LaMichael James run for a TD.
The run game is what we do. Establishing the run sets up everything else for the offense. We've seen the amount of creative formations and different plays that can be called. YET, they are non-existent this season.
It's only the fourth game of the season, so this isn't a must win game for the 49rs. At the same time, although other fans don't recognize it, after last season every NFC West fan knows how tough the Rams are.
At less than full strength, and on the Rams home field, I don't think that the 49rs can pull this one out. I mean, no Aldon Smith or Patrick Willis? Secondly, the 49rs should be trolling the waiver wire for new receivers--ones that can get open against man coverage. Overall, I think that the 49rs will get it together, but just not yet. I have the Rams beating the 49rs 34-21.
Having Vernon in this game was big, b/c the Rams couldn't double Anquan all game long.
Jon Baldwin only had two catches, but his presence appeared to open up the defense.
Baldwin is so big, you cant man up 1-on-1 with him every play.
I noticed after the 1st quarter, Baldwin was in on more plays than Kyle Williams.
It should be Jon Baldwin & Anquan Boldin on the outside.
They have Kyle playing out of position.
Kyle is only a slot WR!
Marlon Moore should be inactive every game this season & cut when Manningham comes back.
I don't know what the hell the coaches saw in Moore during the preseason, dude brings nothing to the table.

I remember seeing Marlon Moore had like 25 snaps last game vs the Colts, & also had like 15 or so snaps against the Seahawks.
Dude only has 1 catch for 6 yards.
He's just simply not getting it done....no separation at all.
If Baldwin can step up, then we wont need to go after Gordon from the Browns.
We just need to weather the storm & get healthy these next few days.
