TV News: ‘Good Times’ Voice Cast Revealed for Seth MacFarlane - Norman Lear Animated Series on Netflix

Not even a chuckle

Give me The boondocks, Bob's burgers, the Simpsons, Futurama, king of the hill, gravity falls, Rick and Morty(seasons 1 & 2 only) Bojack horseman, south park solar opposites, hell give me daria over this dumb shit... Shit give me SpongeBob over dumb ass family guy lol
The entire formula of family guy is stupid to me, non stop cutaway gags does not a good show make.

Also it's racist, but hey enjoy what you enjoy
Its literally edgy simpsons though. If you like Classic the Simpsons then its impossible not to like classic family guy because it was literally the same formula except with more gags(which the simpsons took immediately also when they saw the popularity of Family Guy).

And yea Family guy does lean heavy into racist jokes....so does South Park too though which we both agree is great. I think both try to laugh at stereotypes, while showing the truly racist people(Carter on Family Guy, Garrison and Cartman on South Park) as being idiots and wrong for being racist. You laugh at them more so with them which is another call back to the OG Adult Animated Sitcom Wait til your father gets home which is probably the direct ancestor to the simpsons and family guy

The only thing I think that can save it is that there is a twist to the series.

An interesting twist is the trailer is not actually showing the actual show.

It might actually be a live action show with JD Smoove as the main Evans character (Father) and he is telling crazy stories to the Evans family in current time, which is shown to us (audience) in animation style.

The opening/end of the episodes are live action with periodical breaks of the live action family reactions to his stories.

I doubt that is what is going on, but it would make it interesting.
Basically, yeah.

I had it scripted as a straight up brake pump. The trailer we see here is actually just a trailer in their world, and the real Evans family is just as put off by this being shown as their "history" as everyone else. And then the rest of the show is, you know, not this. Because even as an outlandish flashback, this is still pretty garbage.

I blame the low vibration music and shit that Tyler Perry puts out for this

They think it's an audience for this....and sadly there probably is :dunno:

Interesting....

@blackbull1970

DID NOT MENTION THE CARTOON AT ALL.

He knows the show is getting heat. Jimmy knows its getting flack too, it’s why he didn’t bring it up.

Before they tape these talk shows, they go over with guests on what to talk about and what not to talk about so there isn’t a “Gotcha” moment.

They want the guests to be comfortable to return in the future.

Oh I know bro...trust me

Thats why I posted it.

So I'm wondering is that a sign that the show is trash?

Or like another person said on here... this may all be a big work and a trick for attention and the "real show" is completely different?

We will wait and see.

The series is getting a lot of negative reactions from Black folks.

But everyone who complains says the same thing that we can’t just go by the trailer. So we gonna have to watch it to give the final judgement after viewing it.

Right now, everyone is prejudging the show the same way InCells are having severe strokes when they saw “The Acolyte” trailer with all the women being shown it.

We just saw recently cats on this forum going ape shit crazy predicting that the “X-Men ‘97” series was gonna suck, now after seeing just 3 episodes they all love it (even though they now trying to bitch about the voices of the characters. HaHa!!!).

The series is gonna explode Netflix’s viewer algorithm with high viewership. It will get high viewership cuz majority of folks are watching to get a final assessment.

Unfortunately Netflix will think it’s getting high viewership cuz folks like it and instantly give it a 2nd season within 48 hours.

I will watch it out of curiosity and give my review later.

Damn.

Perfect breakdown

So "they" have created yet another system (that we can only blame ourselves for) where they win no matter what.

Hate watching or binge or critically acclaimed hit...

All the same in the algorithm and total views and subscribers.

Sidebar...

If attention is the new currency?

How can we make sure we spend it wisely and to our benefit?

Because to fair to most of these critics?

Many CLAIM they are not even going to watch it.

Which is a decision I'm torn on.

She said earlier she had watched the trailer and held off making any comments until she saw it.

If she coming out now, it must be bad.

And JB Smoove is still quiet on this show, he is out still promoting “Curb Your Enthusiasm” and nothing on this show.

YOU CALLED THAT EARLY.

This is NOT looking good.

And the black talent attached are handling this ALL wrong going on the offensive

Especially that last one about saying SO WHAT IF ITS BAD?

Do you think the talent involved will have real trouble recovering from this?

Has Steph said anything?

Over/under this show makes it to air?

As is?
