A TikTok video of a historically Black universityhosting its first-ever women's gymnastics practice has gone viral, garnering nearly 800,000 views and more than 200,000 likes.

Fisk University, which is located in Nashville, Tennessee, announced in February the formation of its inaugural gymnastics team, making the university the first HBCU (historically Black colleges and universities) to have an intercollegiate women's gymnastics program. Last week, the team enjoyed its first formal practice, which was captured on video by team member Zyia Coleman, who goes by the username @zyiaalexys on TikTok.

"First gymnastics practice in all of Fisk University history," Zyia wrote on her TikTok video.

The nearly minute-long video showed athletes performing balance beam exercises and a variety of flips.

Fisk University shared the video on Twitter, writing, "Oh nothing, just making history!"
