So if Trump comes out and suppports reparations for ADOS/FBA then what?
"Then what?" There is no "then what?"! There will be NO reparations from white politicians on EITHER side in our life time, even if Trump says there will be! Trump is a pathological liar and Tariq is a hustling opportunist. Tariq KNOWS this, BUT he knows his shee, er, followers better. He's cashing in on misguided hopes, dreams, and emotions, AND got black people casting other black people as the enemy. Notice the only time he "rallys" people is when he's asking for funding for something? He's a fucking windmill! He goes whichever way the wind is blowing. Tariq is basically the Magellan on the new ship of fools.

BLM aka Black Lesbians Matters was a George Soros funded organization. It was infiltrated and compromised like most so-called black movements.

Yvette is a lesbian. And?
@Drayonis

Right. Furthermore, it's sad to see Black people repeating alt-right/right wing white false conspiracy theories tearing down a movement that's still going on. It's as if they rely on what's in the current mainstream news cycle rather than doing even 5 minutes of actual research. Tariq has taught many of our Brothas too well.

...As well, it's crazy how any Black man can tear down an organization started by Sistas and headed regionally mostly by other Sistas who have risked their safety, freedom and livelihoods advocating for justice for Black male victims of police murder and brutality and for police reform. That's truly some ungrateful shit...Particularly considering that those who are criticizing and lying on BLM (including Tariq and Boyce) haven't done shit to either join them in the fight or combat the issue themselves in any way.

Correction bro. There will not only not be reparations in our lifetime, there will NEVER be reparations. The quicker people realize that, the quicker they can move on and get to making their own reparations, whatever that means. You think a rich person is sitting around worried about reparations? Not unless it pays them to sit around telling others that they're fighting for them to get it.

You think there will be reparations in our lifetime? How? 66% of voters are opposed to it. 73% of whites and 64% of other "minorities" oppose it. How Sway?

https://www.inquirer.com/news/repar...ites-2020-democratic-candidates-20190701.html
And this is the element Tariq and others advocating reparations outside the political process are missing (on purpose maybe?). This only gets done when Congress passes a law, the president signs that law and the courts uphold that law. There isn't another way for reparations to happen.

The irony of this entire drivel is that most of your education and lifestyle is a pure emulation of whites, the people you claim to hate.

That would be the issue with most of the indoctrinated especially those that claim they know the works of others.

How many of those BLM sistas have been assassinated like the real activists from Ferguson, MO that worked with getting justice for Michael Brown?

sorry playa, but micro reparations have been paid out before and have been usurped by fake minority groups each time.

That’s how this government works but you have shills, like those on BGOL, that say “we all need to come together” to further blur the lines and allow for infiltration.

Two other Scott donors, both billionaires, also benefit: Jorge Pérez, the Related Group chairman and CEO known as the condo king of South Florida; and Stephen Ross, a prominent Trump fundraiser, real estate magnate, and Miami Dolphins and Equinox gym part-owner. Ross’ Related Companies owns a quarter of Related Group, which is Rybovich’s partner on the planned Marina Village development.

Rybovich, which describes itself as a “world renowned luxurious resort-style Superyacht marina,” can accommodate $100 million-plus yachts that stretch more than 300 feet. It offers an on-site concierge, tiki bar and yoga. (Saul Martinez for ProPublica)
It’s unclear how valuable the tax break could be, and the public may never know because the Trump law included no public reporting requirements. But Pérez recently boasted that the new subsidy would add jet fuel to the investment returns, telling Bloomberg this year: “It worked as a market-rate rental. Now, it works that much better as an opportunity zone.”
Huizenga and Pérez weren’t the only beneficiaries of Scott’s largesse. In a separate case in Tampa, the Florida documents show, Scott made a wealthy downtown area an opportunity zone at the request of a firm controlled by yet another billionaire donor, Tampa Bay Lightning owner Jeff Vinik. This, too, does not involve a new investment. Since as early as 2014, Vinik has been planning a massive redevelopment project in the area that will include luxury residences, hotels and shops.
Trump has hailed the opportunity zone program. Opportunity zones “are doing unbelievably well. And you’ll see that, and you’ve already seen it,” he said in August. “And the biggest beneficiary there is African Americans.”

Trump is the ultimate scammer and he has found a willing crowd. So you can tell his supporters that they are being scamed and they tell you they know but...you fill in the blanks (and the same goes for Tariq's supporters).

folks dont wanna be honest. they'd rather sell the sliver of a dream, i use the healthcare & police powers oversight as examples, both things that can benefit ALL AMERICANS, ALL , but most of the opposition comes form CACs and its not becos the ideas are bad but becos theres a chance it somewhat FAVORS & HELP BLACK FOLKS ....and they cant have that!!! even if that thing also benefit them!

xfactor, I gotta admit that @cashwhisperer is correct about us needing a code - even within this discussion. Though I vehemently disagreed with your original comments to me, I could have addressed them with the same respect that you displayed when you spoke them to me. In hindsight, your answer to my question was not spoken with malice. My regrets for not engaging with you civilly from jump.

As the topics of discussion go, respectfully, let me say the following:
We have to be careful about absorbing information without knowing the source of that info. Your statement about Soros‘ connection with the BLM organization is incorrect. For years right wing whites have leveled accusations of Soros funding everything from Occupy Wall Street to Black Lives Matter to the migrant “caravan” - in short, whatever is a threat to the white power structure. Soros has not and does not fund the BLM organization.

This video follows the BLM organization’s money trail and shows that it does not end with George Soros.

Thirdly, it is true that 2/3rds of the three women who started the BLM organization are LGBTQ. But so what? Their being lesbian or bisexual does not mean they can’t and don’t love us as Black males as Fam. In fact, the work of BLM over the span of their existence is like a love letter to our lives. IMO, we as Black men ought to be appreciative that these and other Sistas (along with many Brothas) stepped up on our behalf. We need to cease repeating WS’s mischaracterizations of the organization. It’s a terrible look.

BLM, in their thousands of actions, have steadfastly protested and sought justice for Black victims of police murder and the families of those victims. Most of the victims they advocated for are our Brothers. BLM also seeks police reform in the interest of equal justice. Over the years, their actions have born a multitude of tangible results. However, just as this corrupt white supremacist “justice” system was not built in a day, it won’t be taken down in a day. Before a Voting Rights Act or Civil Rights Bill was passed, there were years of pressure. The BLM organization is still doing the same work they’ve always been doing. The media just does not cover it so much anymore. As well, the organization has never been public with the planning of their activism. With a government that has declared them to be enough of a threat that a profile was developed on them that painted them as the enemy of the US, they are more at risk now than ever before. Now it‘s not just police unions that view them as adversaries.

Lastly, the killings of Ferguson protestors don’t speak at all to a lack of legitimacy of the BLM organization or BLM movement activists. What it does speak to is the evil of the racist white power structure in Missouri that quietly operates like it‘s 1949 instead of 2019- an evil I’m well familiar with having spent a portion of my childhood there. Trust me when I say that it is a courageous move be involved in that kind of work, wherever one might be doing it.

Vote over 90% for someone and don’t get anything but you’re right. Voting Democrat is the answer

:smh:
Let's think about this outside the party system. Think ideology. Conservatism by it very nature is diametrically opposed, vehemently, to anything that will improve black American's lives. Conservatism has always been about maintaining the status quo. Slavery, Jim Crow, etc. were all conservative policies. Now liberalism or progressiveism, though with unclean hands with us, at least attempts to level the playing field, at least incrementally. Now don't get me wrong, white supremacy is apolitical and always has been, but look at the scorecard the past 2 generations. Which ideology has at least tried to right past wrongs?

Even if Congress passes a law and the president signs that law, there is no way a conservative judiciary will uphold that law. And THAT is why voting is important for us. Who appoints these federal and Supreme Court justices? The president. And you think a judge appointed by Trump will uphold a reparations law?

This is what I want Tariq to address. If we don't vote for those that appoint judges who will ultimately rule on a reparations law, how does reparations happen?

I tried to explain that to the "MASTER of all things political" (he actually bragged this in another thread) that congress could face federal challenges. Him and his peanut gallery acted like "that could never happen"...but again they are knowledgeable about how the American government works...more than anyone on this board

Y'all debating with a person who thinks blacks were natives to America, never came on slave ships. All of that is a myth to him.

you do know the last President, obliterated that theory right?

How did the last president, with a GOP Congress his final 6 years in office, obliterate this theory? Context matters, fam. And again, I am not absolving Obama of his respectability political failings at all. He should have used his bully pulpit much more for our issues. But lets compare apples to apples. There were no laws he could have gotten passed his final 6 years in office, exclusively for us, with GOP control of congress and the Supreme Court. Not one.
