The whole thing is just sad. Tariq has yet to explain how we as descendants of American slavery can achieve reparations outside the political process. Yvette and Tone are probably not the "right" folks to lead this movement, but they are and shouldn't be ridiculed for attempting to move the conversation forward within the political process. There is suspect shit going on with all these parties involved; no one has clean hands. Just a lot of wasted energy that won't get us closer to the actual goal.
I am not following a gay dude and a gay woman anywhere because I can't trust what their agenda really is. It's funny that Tariq is the so called agent, but he is the one who can really rally the people, raise the money and actually produce a product when money is raised. Politics is about money. Period. Having said that, I listened to Yvette's response and she did make some valid points, but she mentioned how strong her morals are but she is gay so her morals and mine are totally different. Also it's very obvious that ADOS has been co-opted by the democratic party so they have been compromised.

I agree , Tariq hasn't really explained it, and even if he did, he wouldn't be doing anything to achieve it , but it is true that politics has taken us as far as it can go. Black conservatives have been saying this for decades, and even the Black nationalists , who have conservative leanings have. It's simple, but it ain't easy. More people should be like Byron Allen, AG Gaston, Bob Johnson... Savings, aquiring SKILLS , and hard ass work. If we were better at delaying gratification as a culture, nothing could stop us. For individuals who are, nothing can stop them. All the rich Black celebs know this. They'd rather "use their platform" to tell us what we can't do, instead of telling us what THEY DID. If our ancestors could build all the HBCUs, elementary schools, banks, insurance companies, construction companies during REAL racism, wtf are we crying about now? Every group that has risen from poverty used economics first, THEN politics, and even then , only if they felt like it. Tariq has mentioned the Asians. They don't vote AT ALL, and they're the most successful group in tbe country. The Black immigrants to this country do the same , and they only get involved a generation or two after they've been here and assimilated into our pattern. So if Trump comes out and suppports reparations for ADOS/FBA then what?
