Man hell nah. We not gonna act like the Wire didn’t start rushing a whole bunch of shit in season 5 that didn’t make sense. We also not gonna act like most people(not me) didn’t even fuck with season 2 like that.
I loved the character development but a lot of those dudes didn’t need it and took up unnecessary space. Snowfall is covering the same layers of the game. The streets.... how it actually gets in and what it controls and it covers the layers of where it comes from.
Mel is going to recoup from this, Frank killing Andre won’t be her demise I think it’s her awakening.
He was compromised though. He could not balance his new racist cop buddy friends and the people he grew up with. Andre and Mel would have been better off if they moved a while ago. He dead and Mel will be a walking dead shell version of her self. She has no protection and no one to look out for her. She is basically a wounded antelope on the savanna and the lions, leopards, hyenas, and hunting dogs are salivating. Mel's story will most likely end very tragically. Would not be shocked if they even give her character the package on top of her being a crack head. The reason I'm bringing up the house in virginia angle is because in the mid 80s people were catching that as well and drug users were just as likely to contract it by being recklessly careless.
That would be a happy ending if that was to happen but she is going to have some tribulations to deal with her addiction before she even gets to that point.
That's good point and I agree. If they do give Mel a happy ending, I could see it being something a "flash forward" of her overcoming years even decades of addiction.
Although at this point, I wouldn't be surprised if they give her a brutal death TBH
puriod, purtblank plaboaAndre killed himself.

Andre was still playing on level 3 while frank was on level 7RIP Andre. How ironic that Franklin offered you a chance to Get Out and you didn't take it.
Jeeeez. That went dark. I don’t know about the od part. Most the crackheads I know is still live and kicking.I honestly would prefer to see Mel prostituting, contracting diseases, becoming homeless and ultimately OD'ing. Crack wasn't a pretty picture and I want them to stay close to the real life impact. Honestly speaking, the majority of the stories ended that way vs rehab and positive lectures.
I wish that wasn't the case, but since it was, the story should reflect just how ugly that epidemic became IMO. I've heard stories of mothers pimping out their children over the weekend to the dope man, so this is still not as bad as it could be.
West coast version. From the beginning and all aspects of itWire>>>>>>>>>>>>Snowfall.
Let’s not get crazy.
Question: When they find Andre (the cop) will they believe that he committed Suicide (possibly because of being suspended and Mel's crack addiction) or will they think he was Murdered (Mel thinks that Franklin killed her father)?

I think before it gets there the other cop will put it on the cia before it gets back to franklin and just leave it a suicide.I'm thinking no gunpowder residue on his hand... they're gonna figure it out fast that he didn't fire it himself.
In the early 80s where did working class Blacks move to if they left South Central?
What predictions do you all have for the characters?
Demise.....Yeah maybe a fast forward to maybe the late 90s to the mid 2000s where she is some sort of drug prevention advocate giving her testimony. However I agree on your last statement and the crack addicted and hiv angle would be very dark but it will bring to light the reality of how destructive both the drug war and hiv was on the black community and on the black female in particular. I am hoping she don't end up like Wanda because I predict a tragic demise for Wanda because she is so far gone she will easily become a liability that can be used against Franklin.
Demise.....
Bitch already dead bruh.....

The I.E. (Inland Empire) - Riverside, San Bernardino, Moreno Valley, Perris, Rialto, Fontana etc. It's an area that begins about 45 miles east of L.A.
What about Reed and Gus..? The latter probably may go out like Tony Montana at the end of Scarface..Teddy ends up working in that basment the rest of his life that he promised to his baby mama.
Mel like fam said ends up sucking/fucking for rock but years down the road becomes a drug council for at risk youth.
Leon get killed, fired or both dealing with Franklin.
Manboy still selling weed to this day.
Gerrome got out the game and started a new tech businesses with his fine ass wife. They have 6 kids.
Avi is presumed dead.
Franklin just now getting out of jail, but his mom secretly hid him a fortune once his got out. She died while he was in prison. His father told him where he could get his money.
What about Reed and Gus..? The latter probably may go out like Tony Montana at the end of Scarface..
Reed might merk his girl for fucking everything up then get off scot free
Difference is this a legit competitor. Shows like Power never were. This show has Oscar level writing from a man who has legit classics under his belt and the acting is solid. You dudes act the Wire was untouchable.Every couple of years:
Somebody:
(insert hot show title here) is better than The Wire...

Snowfall is more on the lines of Power. Although it's better than Power, there is no show without Franklin just like there is no show without Ghost.
Eventually this will be a challenge for the writers because you have to write unrealistic scenarios so that nothing happens to Franklin. That's why Power got so unbelievable.
The Wire was not dependent on just one character. Anybody could get it at anytime just like in reality. That's partly what separates it from the rest.
The Wire doesn't have a main character was my point, which makes the writing less constricted.Power for unbelievable because of terrible writing and acting. The Wire is centered around an area not a character. Everything “classic” from characters to events came from that hood. Not one of the characters from the other aspects are classic besides Clay Davis saying sheeeeeeeeeit. Most Wire fans can’t name 5 of the main characters from season 2 on the docks. Nearly all the main hood characters lived the whole show until they started killing people off in the last season that’s not a coincidence they needed them.
Snowfall seemed to fine with Franklin being in jail and when they were focusing on Lucia and her family.
Not about better but it’s damn sure looking like good competition. The Wire doesn't have a main character was my point, which makes the writing less constricted.
I really like Snowfall so I'm not trying to argue that the writing is not good, but yall gotta relax trying to say it's better than The Wire.
