Rockstar reportedly remastering Grand Theft Auto 3, Vice City and San Andreas on Unreal Engine due out later this year

PC version has been pulled.

I have it on the pirate ship and I plan on getting into it later.

did you get it working? I'm contemplating just pirating or waiting for the disc to buy.

no way am I gonna use Rockstar's shitty game launcher so they block me from playing a game I purchased whenever they feel like it.

Yes I got it working, I haven't noticed any glitches yet because I have yet to get into it.

It seems like there are more negative than positive reviews at this point.

It's still early but if those reviews turn out to be accurate I won't be copping :smh:

I'm glad I didn't preorder it like I was planning to do. I would have been pissed for wasting $60 on a game with so many issues. I've been reading that the game is having issues on every console and PC.

Same here.

I came close as hell to doing it too but at the last minute decided to wait until I saw some reviews and glad I did.

Once I saw the video the trailer they released prior to the release I was skeptical about how much they put into updating it.

These shits are taking up 45 gigs on my HD, I can get the originals for less than 10 total, plus I'm sure I can find mods.

I'm glad I resisted the initial hype, ridiculous that Rockstar couldn't give its 3 most iconic games better treatment.

I'm a PC player, so I'll wait till the bootlegs work or it hits the bargain bin for Christmas

Yeah maybe I'll cop them next year when they're ridiculously low but I'm damn sure not paying $60.

Any of yall know if the originals can be modded to have the modern control schemes?

If I can find that, I'm dumping the remasters tonight.

If true this is an absolute fuck you to the fans and people who've supported this franchise for years.

It would also make you wonder about how GTA 6 will be kf they're willing to do shit like this.

I ain't even looking forward to GTA 6 now.

That trilogy shit is a money grab. The GTA V remaster will be the same.

Rockstar and Take-Two are focused on finessing and getting people to buy the same fuckin' game and the same content over and over.

It's absurd that they're even remastering a game that's only 8 years old and is still very much active and up to date graphically. It'll be the remaster next year or whatever. Then the 10th anniversary edition. Then the "PS6/Xbox whatever" verison. The shit will never stop.

Then they made Dan Houser quit, the head producer and the head writer, so it's probably just going to be a parody of itself anyway. I'm more looking forward to what Houser's going to do with his own company.

I agree, GTA V being remastered and sold again is complete bullshit and a fuck you to all of the people who've continued to spend money on that game and keep it alive only to be hit again. :smh:

Some people online are saying that people just bitching and complaining just for the sake of bitching and complaining while others are stating that for $60, a billion-dollar company with unlimited resources should do better.

I'm in the camp of believing a billion-dollar company should do better.

I'll add this back after some updates are issued out for it. I'm sure Rockstar is hearing the complaints.

I don't know about that, seems like it is as bad as people are making it out to be... you got people uploading an hour of bugs within a couple days of the game's release.

That's why I said, I'm in the camp of believing a billion-dollar company should do better and removed the game from my hard drive. I don't believe modders should have to fix the game's issues.

Rockstar should do this themselves.

A Note from the Rockstar Games Team RE: Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition
November 19, 2021
Hi everyone,

We want to provide an update regarding the unexpected technical issues that came to light as part of the launch of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition.

Firstly, we want to sincerely apologize to everyone who has encountered issues playing these games.

The Grand Theft Auto series — and the games that make up this iconic trilogy — are as special to us as we know they are to fans around the world. The updated versions of these classic games did not launch in a state that meets our own standards of quality, or the standards our fans have come to expect.

We have ongoing plans to address the technical issues and to improve each game going forward. With each planned update, the games will reach the level of quality that they deserve to be.

A new Title Update is on the way in the coming days for all versions of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition that will address a number of issues. We will update everyone as soon as it is live.

In the meantime, it pains us to mention that we are hearing reports of members of the development teams being harassed on social media. We would kindly ask our community to please maintain a respectful and civil discourse around this release as we work through these issues.

While one of the goals of the Definitive Editions was to allow players to enjoy these games on modern platforms for many years to come, we also understand that some of you would still like to have the previous classic versions available for purchase.

We will be adding the classic PC versions of Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas back to the Rockstar Store shortly as a bundle. Additionally, everyone who has purchased Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition for PC from the Rockstar Store through June 30, 2022, will receive these classic versions in their Rockstar Games Launcher library at no additional cost. We will update everyone as soon as these are back in the Rockstar Store.

Once again, we'd like to thank everyone for their patience and understanding while we work through these updates to ensure these games meet everyone's justifiably high standards.

Sincerely,
Rockstar Games

Comes out that Rockstar itself didn’t do the remaster. Grovestreet Games did. That was the same company that did the mobile ports of the original games, and THEY REMASTERED THESE GAMES FROM THE MOBILE VERSIONS, not the original PS2 versions. :smh:

Another update for GTA rolled out. Looks like the tide of opinion is slowly turning. Maybe by the time this shit is half off, all the bugs will be fixed.
