Rockstar reportedly remastering Grand Theft Auto 3, Vice City and San Andreas on Unreal Engine due out later this year

Do the Xbox and PS allow for custom soundtracks?

I haven't owned a console since the PS3

and on PC GTA has Self Radio or Independence Radio channel for custom soundtracks.

On the PS5, I got a USB flash drive full of music that I just plug into the front USB port and I play my music during games with the media player and turn all the in-game music off.

I got a few thousand songs on it so the music player only shows the few couple hundred songs, but I just put it on shuffle mode and it'll run thru all the songs.

I also have a little music player with bluetooth so I can just send music to my soundbar and let the game sounds come from the TV.

To be honest I've played some of the previous GTA, but hell no would I go and buy the same remastered version

I'm on a pirate ship, so I'll be adding it for free not sure if I would buy it if I was on a console.

I've beaten GTA3, never played Vice, and never finished San Andreas but I'm kinda hit or miss when it comes to GTA games, I didn't like IV but I loved V.

The smoother frame rate and modern control scheme might freshen it up for some

The censorship and removal of songs will turn some off.

The question is ...... Why?
The answer is.... Because Dan Hauser LEFT Rockstar during the Pandemic, back in March 2020.
  • Dan was the main creative 'driving force' behind the entire GTA franchise.
  • He created all the characters / and wrote all the storylines for every single GTA game ever made.
  • He wrote all the dialogue / scripts / and created all the mission ideas for every single GTA game ever made.
For example, Dan Hauser also wrote the entire story & all the scripts for the whole Red Dead Redemption franchise.
  • Roger Clark is the actor who was the voice of Arthur Morgan, in RDR2.
  • Roger Clark said that he worked on RDR2 for MORE than 5 years.
  • And he revealed that they never got the "entire script" all at once.
  • They got different chapters of the script..... every few months... or once a year.
  • And the scripts WERE NOT written "in the order" that the game is played.
So in my opinion, these remastered games are used as a way for Rockstar to keep generating income while they buy time to replace Dan Hauser. If it took Dan more that 5 years to write RDR2, then it's pretty safe to say that Dan definitely DID NOT finish writing all the GTA6 storylines before leaving the company last year.

He left because of Take-Two, right? He didn't like the direction they were going in after acquiring Rockstar.

I wonder if Rockstar doesn't like GTA 4 themselves.

They've released the trilogy like 6-7 different times, but they never do SHIT for GTA 4, it's like they want people to forget that muthafucka exists.

I've only played IV like 1.5 times, so it's definitely my least favorite. But if they were to update everything fucked up about it, fix the driving mechanics, the shooting, and add more guns and clothes, make it prettier, throw in the DLC, and most of all, give you an option to turn off the dating shit, I would run GTA 4 back one time.

The driving mechanics were the most realistic of any GTA

I bet half the music wont be on the soundtracks due to licensing..Michael Jackson songs definitely wont be in VC
Can they do that though? I mean they gave up the licensing already...is there something that says they have to take it out for rereleases? I know that Wanna Be Starting gonna cost them a arm and a leg if they have to do that.
Weren't the tracks for GTA3 made for that game?

I really hope the same tracks make it for Vice City. It's not gonna be the same vibe if I jump into a ride and don't hear Billie Jean bumping
The licensing may no longer apply since this is technically a new release.
They probably just gotta renegotiate the deal.

Besides, it ain't like Rockstar can't afford it. If they could afford it back then, they damn sure could do it now.
May not be a matter of can they afford to pay it but more is it worth paying if the price is too high.

Looks like a lot of tracks may be missing unfortunately:

GTA 6 "is Rockstar's most chaotic project since its creation" according to leaker

https://www.gamesradar.com/gta-6-is...oject-since-its-creation-according-to-leaker/

Some of the development difficulties appear to relate to the departure of Rockstar co-founder Dan Houser last year. Klippel says that his withdrawal from the project was "not trivial," and may have resulted in or been linked to a reboot of its own.

Rockstar does appear to have given itself plenty of time to pull its next game together, with some reports suggesting it's planning to release GTA 6 as late as 2025.

GTA 6 rebooted multiple times: in 'development hell', 'it's a mess'

https://www.tweaktown.com/news/8249...times-in-development-hell-its-mess/index.html

Grand Theft Auto 6 is reportedly in "development hell" according to fresh rumors, which also state that GTA 6 development restarted once Dan Houser left Rockstar Games in 2020.

GTA 6 had already gone through changes before Houser left, with the story of GTA 6 changing before he left and that development on GTA 6 had restarted when he left -- and that Houser leaving Rockstar is a "direct consequence" of that says Chris from Rockstar Mag.

'GTA 6' Leak Is Bad News for Fans: Game Development Called 'Chaotic' After Multiple Reboots!

https://www.itechpost.com/articles/...news-fans-game-development-called-chaotic.htm

The game reportedly went through multiple reboots, particularly with its scenario level. This means features like the game's narrative, settings, map, and characters undergo through constant change. These reboots apparently happened "several times since 2014." The large-scale changes also make it hard for Rockstar Games or leakers to reveal any accurate information about the title.

Another big issue linked to the game's development, or lack thereof, was the departure of Rockstar Games co-founder Dan Houser last year. "GTA 6" was restarted again after the event.

I bet they going to pull a Battlefield 2042 and focus on online MP only..or that was probably one of the ideas they had after Dan left :smh:

If none of the original creators of GTA are left then whatever they put out will be some bullshit and nothing like GTA. May explain why they are milking GTA V, because that may be the last title

Saw on reddit that the player models are atrocious and generic. Like wii avatars.
But the scenery is looking much better.

It looks like they tried to use deep learning to upscale everything rather than hire artists to remake things. Between this and all of the strikes, I think it's time to call bullshit on all that "we'll replace you with AI" talk that employers have been threatening for years.

I hated that shit, I never even finished it.
