I've been keeping up on Gantz.

I stopped reading DC cause I had caught up to it at the time. (That's Detective Conan :) ). It got really hard to find all of the episodes subbed too...

What I really wanted to read was Banana Fish but I see they don't have the whole thing. :( I can't seem to find that shit no where and even the printed versions over here are hard to find...

I'll see what else is in there to read after I finish with classes.

How about the oldest two captins getting handled like they rookies they spent to much time bullshitting and not finishing off their opponent. WONDERWEIS :smh: are you serious?

I only hope that the vizard come in and kill Tousen and Gin to make Aizen mad and all hell breaks loose to bring this storyline back to life.

I thought Shunsui Kyōraku and Stark was pretty even......it was Jūshirō Ukitake who got hurt with his sick ass....:lol::lol:
 
One Piece manga/anime discussion

I was wondering if there was anyone here that read/watched One Piece. I tried to get some other friends into it, but either they was not feeling the wild outtakes (as in most anime/manga), or they just couldn't stomach a ongoing story about pirates. I for one love it, how little by little more & more is revealed about the Pirate King & his crew. Also the whole cover up by the World Government about the true history of the world & those who seek it. I know the next arc where Luffy, Crocodile, Jinbei, Buggy & Iva go off to save Ace is going to be interesting. :yes:

i for one love one piece. i actually am behind by like 6 episodes but i just jumped back into it today actually. it was episode 401 i believe. absolutely fantastic. and yea the series is long as fuck. i think its worth it though. people complain about the animation style but the storyline and more importantly the abilities!!! damn they're amazing

I'm wondering why my One Piece manga/anime discussion thread was merged into this one... :hmm:. Makes it a bit difficult to discuss a particular series if it is rolled into this general thread. Also wondering why this was done since there are a few particular threads dedicated to discussing other manga/anime that have not been moved. I thought this thread's purpose was to discuss all manga ongoing or complete. My thread does not fall into that category. It should be moved back.

If you're talking about One Piece, if you can get past the first couple of episodes, (like the first seven), you're in for a good ride. OP does better fillers too than Naruto imo. At this point though unless you don't want a life if you're starting from the beginning you might want to read the manga...that's a lot of episodes for you to catch up on...:yes:

Lol... you are right about the fillers being better than that of Naruto's. Took me long enough to catch up with the manga, but after a few free weekends I knew what was going on. :yes: I like how Luffy meets his first love interest. Well... she knows it but he doesn't (at least right now). Hancock is funny how she falls for Luffy but is still stern with her people & has a disdain for animals. :lol:

Speaking of Chopper, I liked his & everyone of the Mugiwara Kaizoku origins. They were cool & unique in that you actually cared about what the characters went through & how it shaped them to be who they are now.

Luffy cares for his growing crew, (though they haven't shown this lately), Nami is still the only one he leaves his hat to.

I think he entrusted his hat to Nami for 2 reasons. One, she started out as a thief & him entrusting his hat to her was his way of saying I trust you. Two, she fixed his hat when it practically got destroyed, so I think he is extra indebted to her since that hat is his most prized possession (currently).

Did you read the latest volume where the revelation was made about Portgas D. Ace's real father? When I did I was like :eek:

Look how long it took for her to call the rest of the crew by their real names; he could have had her hold on to his hat to say "Welcome" a long time ago.

That is true that Sanji gets worked up about other women too, but I think he has a special thing for Nami in particular. It took Robin such a long time to call everyone by their real names due to her past. I guess they were still on a probationary period... :lol:. Since Luffy already had that connection with his hat with Nami, it would feel as if he was sharing that particular bond with another person if he were to do that with Robin.

I wonder what the 'legacy of D' is. It is mentioned a few times but nothing has been revealed about it. Also I'm starting to think that Gol D. Roger was a devil fruit user as well. I would like to know more about Roger's crew & a few others, also the story of Eagle Eyes Mihawk. I like how the story is paced & how as one thing is revealed, one or more secrets are developed as well. Keeps you interested in finding out more. :yes:

My bet is on Shichibukai wife vs crew wife. :D

Yeah... I notice the mini arcs on the manga covers too. They are pretty interesting. Eneru going into space was funny yet kinda cool. What happened to Sanji was a bit scary, him being chased by okamas. :eek::smh:

About to get the latest ep of One Piece to see Luffy's future wife... and no it is not Nami! :lol:

I wonder if Gol D. Roger was a devil fruit user & if so, what was it? It had to be something to cancel out Whitebeard's for them to be rivals. Like Luffy & Eneru's abilities. :rolleyes:
I also want to see Taka Me no Mihawk in action. I guess the next time we will see that is either when he squares off against Zoro for the 2nd time.

Wow... they went in for One Piece 553! It is an all out melee of legends! After this, I think I'm gonna start liking Marco. He is the only other pirate aside from the Dark King to stop Kizaru's attacks. Eiichiro Oda has been killin it as of late with One Piece. :yes:
