my home library but my work locker is stack wit books fam just say the work
aight good looks brotha
question....
what the difference between
ENGINE
RESCUE
LADDER
ill drop this gem on but im sure your local library might have some books in there
engine-- carrys water, quick attack lines, forcible entry tools anything u can think of really thats the primary means of take water from the tank, or hydrant to the nozzle to the seat of the water
rescue-- some depts. like mines have heavy rescue truck with all the big boy toys on it...basically it carries anything that can get u inside of something from cars, windows, doors, whatever
jaws, power saws, rams, some ladders, confine space equipment, ropes, rappel equipment...anything that can save someone from a fucked up situation is on that rig
ladder truck---..basically it'll have one big ass ladder on it or a million ladders on it...different types of sizes
now a days u can see all this shyt all in one truck...you'll be amazed at how much these trucks cost
Well, i just got the call, looks like ill be going into work at 2000 today instead of 0800 tommorow, oh well, i was bored anyway. Im still surprised they called becasue the storm is only a category 1
they were selling some fire trucks for 100k and better....
so Ladder is in charge of venting the roof....right...
so only engine company actually battle the beast...?
next who choose's what kind of dept you get assigned 2...?
can you request?
which do you prefer...
Score high on your tests....they take the lower score guys and put them on engine companies
Seriously...I enjoyed the freedom a truck gives you,as opposed to an engine where you are tied down with a line...big attack hose.
A ladder truck's basic job is rescue and ventilation...an engine's basic job is putting water on the fire. They go and meet the fire...while the truck guys work around it.
See...brains

ENGINE ALL DAY
im well rounded tho i luv breakin shyt like side windows of expensive ass cars
and then again i like ems calls to u know the hot drunken white gurl
i would say engine work tho but i really can see myself working in management
so was that scene from backdraft true....when some idiot parks next to a hydrant you run the hose through his shit....
nation wide I heard...70% of the calls are medical
damn movies... my B.C. would kill me doing some shyt like that
70% of the calls are medical do you mind that....cuz most FF's I've spoke 2 hate dealing with medical calls...
What kind of medical calls do FF's respond to, also do paramedic's have to take the classes since they are already licensed?
so what you do....you run the hose around the illegally parked car?
so are those movies bad depictions of FF's and their jobs?
next....I don't know the stats...but how regular are FF fatalities....
hell yea them movies are the worst
my b.c. sometimes use them movies certain clips as training aids of what not to do
at first i couldnt even get into rescue me but that shyt grow on me after a while until that shyt tired into a soap opera which it is
but that park car thing is funny...
u can have a million feet of hose on the ground im sure we can spare a few feet around that car
plus how is it going to look when foxnews is broadcasting yo black ass taking out a ford escort window to lay hose thru it
only time u can really destroy some shyt is for life threating situations
life
property
environment
I feel you...damn I need to stop watching those movies...fucking my head up....
so how about fatalities....in every movie some FF dies in a blaze....
are they many...
damn ya'll getting me hype....![]()
alot of those movies are based on old school firefighters when fire depts didnt have the love from the city (money) for equipment
the major cause for deaths in the fire departments its being fucking fat and out of shape
cats do die alot from fires, entrapments, falls but really deaths from heart attacks believe it or not is high on the list
young cats too
www.firefighterclosecalls.com
but i cant speak for every city but heart attacks is high on that list
man some of them muthafuckers use that hour to work on their cars
wow....thats pretty amazing and shocking....
i'm not going to front alot of older FF's are out of shape from what I have seen...same for cops...
most of the younger cats be in better shape....from what I seen...
damn now this gives me a reason to work out even harder...
I thought FF's are suppose to work out at least a hour a day in the firehouse....?
so do they demand you guys to be in better shape Syn...
man some of them muthafuckers use that hour to work on their carscuttin up deer meat
installing new brakes and rotors
some of them b bullshytting.. we got a nice lil gym wit cardio, weight equipment, whirlpool all the hot shyt
some older cats go hard you'll think they were about to go tryout for the damn eagles... then some b in there wit 5 towels wrapped around his neck sweating for no reason on the stairmaster flippin thru the cooking channel...
me n my crew workout together
but that workout thing is suppose to b honored but like i said cats be gettin there auto zone on
Yeah....I remember a lot of fat guys....and yeah, heart trouble is a major factor.
A lot of those guys smoke and drink...it use to always amaze me,during mop-up time...no matter how tough the fire was,no matter what time of day or night,no matter how much smoke you got beaten back with...
You would always hear this..."cough,cough...arrrrr,cough...anybody got a light?"
They take in a ton of smoke, and they still want a cigarette...
Some more drill school pics....
After you got to the top of the 6 story tower,it was even harder to control the Pompier on the way back down.Due to the weight of the ladder and of course you are worn from going up...it was a bitch.
But,next day...you did it in teams, with a guy on each floor...and everyone did a time at each of the 6 floors.
Me on the way up...

Our team, check out the top guy...you can tell he wasn't digging it.

whoa...good pics BLUES....shit looks fun...![]()
dreads...I got them...real neat...it reaches my shoulder...yay or nay?
You gonna do alright....cause man,you ain't got no senseThat stuff had me scared...
Cut them mfers man.Why leave shit like that to chance you can always grow em back to the extent of the policy after getting hired.
damn movies... my B.C. would kill me doing some shyt like that
Blues...you a savage.I would have hated those pompiers. We use wooden ladders in my DEPT.Personally I hate heights but when I know I gotta do shit I just ignore it and dont hesitate.Im on the Truck so you KNOW how that goes.Personally I like the engine better but the truck is alot more macho so i'd never say that to anyone in my DEPT.I like extrications and rescues but during a fire i'd rather be IN than on TOP of it.Truck work is definitely the most dangerous and skilled though.
PPE= Personal Protection Equipment---your SCBA(Self Contaiined Breathing Apparatus), turn out coat, pants, helmet, hood and boots
also Level A, Level B and Level C Ensembles and the selection criteria if your doing HazMat
know there limitations as if your life depends on it because it does.
Dont ever let me catch you on the line w/o your gloves... Steamed hands is a horrible way to go out..
see thats that bullshytI know a guy that did that to a BMW.Broke 2 windows and ran LDH through his shit.Of course it was a white dude.
from what I read on Firehouse...most calls in certain dept's are medical...very high number....
is this not true....?
see thats that bullshyt
i told him cut them dreads
