***Official 2010 FIFA World Cup Thread***

Yep. That is why I like this team much more than the last Brasilian team... they play intelligently and are defensive-minded as opposed to the previous team that not only looked unenthused, got owned in the midfield and were mad suspect defensively.. yep and they attacked when given the opportunity because it was very obvious that the Ivory coast was faster in the mid-field...

All along, I thought Brazil would compact the midfield, as they always do and play a high back line... Against Ivory Coast they absolutely refused to that. They played the length of the field and never let Drogba have running room between the offside trap and the goal keeper. As a result of the stretch, Kaka was forced to try and move up the ball from the defensive to the offensive midfield, but the Ivorian midfielders took it away from his with shocking ease. The inability of Brazil to move up, was why they were so impotent in the front line in the first 15 minutes. However, that defence of Melo, Juan, Bastos, Maicon, Gilberto Silva and Michel Bastos simply choked out the supply of air to Drogba too... In all fairness, that game should have ended in a draw if Kolo Toure had stood and challenged Luis Fabiano instead of going down..

Brazil were going nowhere in that game; they simply were not going to let Drogba loose on Juan and Lucio...Props to Dunga for showing how great a strategist he is...

I feel for the North Koreans. They may get killed, and its not even funny. with their crazy ass leader man. :smh::smh:

Hope the players can claim refugee status

Ivory Coast might as well pack there bags.:smh:

N.K. is not gonna let themselves get embarrassed like that again, and i don't see Brazil putting 3 past Portugal.

Did you hear them say that the manager said that he received tactical advice from the "gentle leader" before the match? :hmm::lol:

Thats what they deserve for not trying to get 3 points off Portugal when they had the chance and for not playing against for Brasil for 82 of the 90 minutes. :smh:

Wow portgual ended ivory coast this morning. I see Julio baptista running all over them though.

CIV could still make it if Brasil wins and CIV put up a 10 spot on North Korea

:hmm:

these fuckers have me heated the more I think about them holding the ball up in the corner at the end of the Portugal match. Instead of trying to get the 3 points, they are playing for the fucking draw when they had the portuguese on the ropes...:angry::angry:

Come on Honduras!

Controversial referee Koman Coulibaly was left off FIFA’s list for the next batch of World Cup matches following the error that cost the United States a victory against Slovenia.

jus wondering if it wuz a different country would the punishment b the same....

In the last world cup. An English referee gave a player three yellow cards. That was his last game at the World Cup. Whether you come from a 'big' country or a smaller one, when you mess up like that..........

:itsawrap:

He will not be the only referee left out in the next round. That is what they do. With or without the controversy, he was not gonna go. How many other African refs are there in the game. Now the French refs who let Fabiano palm the ball will be in the next round; as will the motherfucker who gave Uruguay a penalty...

I picked David Villa as the golden boot winner. Hopefully he will get his plenty of goals because Torres left his shooting boots at home

Penalty!!!!!!!!!!!!
