Warning: This article contains spoilers about Tuesday's episode of FX's Mayans M.C.
Cheering for FX's renewal of Mayans M.C. for a fourth season was fun for a little over 24 hours before the penultimate episode of season 3 aired on Tuesday night and completely changed the game. A lot of blood was shed, and tough decisions were made, including Adelita's (Carla Baratta) decision to promote her surrogate daughter and protégé Mini (Melany Ochoa) by gifting her the honor of killing Palomo (Mia Maestro).
"In this episode, we finally start to see Adelita's plan, and part of that plan is giving Mini the responsibility of being the new leader of Los Olvidados," Baratta tells EW. "This puts Adelita in a very vulnerable position, and we don't know what the last part of her plan is yet. I think it's really interesting to see her give so much power to this little girl that's almost her own child. Adelita thinks she's ready."

Adds Ochoa, "In season 1 and 2, Mini was more Adelita's sidekick, but throughout season 3, she's grown into her own. She was forced to grow up when her mom Adelita was [taken by Potter]. With no one to look up to, Mini started doing what the other kids were doing, and that was tough to cope with. She was lost."

Baratta feels killing a big fish like Palomo was the perfect rite of passage for Mini as she steps into the light in this world full of darkness.

"I thought it was a beautiful way to do it because these characters are surrounded by violence, and it's all they know," Baratta shares. "It was like I was giving Mini a prize by killing Palomo, earning her the top spot. Trust me, Adelita would've loved to have been the one to kill Palomo, but this is how it needed to happen."
Ochoa is one of the youngest members of the Mayans M.C. cast, and she giggles while sharing an anecdote about how her mom only allows her to watch her own scenes on TV. She also says she believes Mini "was nervous when it was time to kill Palomo" because she "wanted to make Adelita proud."
"I was really nervous on that day, but I got the gist of what was going to happen when I saw Carla kill Salvador [Chacon], who played Pablo," she says. "Before my scene, there was already blood all over the floor, and I was slipping and sliding on my knees! By the way, what I used wasn't even a real knife; it's a prop with a blade that just goes in and out."

And while Palomo's death will hardly matter in the big picture, the M.C. will be reeling from Steve's (Momo Rodriguez) heartbreaking suicide for some time. He had only minutes earlier been made a fully patched brother after killing on behalf of the M.C.
"Growing up, I saw men like the ones in the M.C., and if I hadn't listened to my parents, I'd have been Steve," Rodriguez says. "It's that search for something greater, wanting to be known in the neighborhood and respected. That's what Steve wants. Steve is in love with the way people look at EZ [JD Pardo], with how Hank [Frankie Loyal] is feared and respected. Steve has never had that; he's the punchline. But he soon realized that not everything that glitters is gold."
He adds, "EZ was Steve's guiding light, and that was a relationship EZ initiated because he had also been a prospect. As it turns out, though, EZ and Steve are two different people. Steve couldn't stop seeing the guy he killed [in his mind] and his kids and his family. He was really traumatized."
Rodriguez, who acts and is also a stand-up comic, embraced a sad event from earlier this year to bring real emotion into the character's struggle.
"My mother passed away in January, so it was really tough for me to be on set that day," Rodriguez shares. "The cast and crew, everybody was so beautiful to me during my loss, and they were there for me every second. I used Steve as a way of therapy. I wanted Steve to be amazing for my mom and for me because that day, I lost somebody else. I was about to lose Steve, the guy that was there for me when I needed him the most. It was a very emotional experience. My eyes that whole episode are glazed, and that was no makeup, that was all me."
He adds, "When my scene was over, I walked off, and everyone was clapping for me. I was so proud of our journey together and all we accomplished. I hope Steve will be remembered next season and that the show touches on the hurt left behind, especially with Hank. And I hope he will always be a remembrance of brotherhood."

Caught up with the episodes last week before the season finale.

These mofos are fighting and killing each other like crazy. The clubs are completely out of control. Waiting to see how Bishop is going to make himself King if he can.

Yeah, Coco needs to go. That fool goes back to Meth Mountain to get that chick. Him being a ex-Marine should have known they would have some type of security on that camp being what they doing at that place....but his daughter Leticia needs to stay. That girl is Smashable like Hell!

Aletia and her Messiah crap is getting on my nerves. That crazy bird needs to be taken out.

Angel needs to get his ass kicked big time. That fool still stuck on some teenage drama because Easy was the family favorite. Dude made a complete ass out of himself when Easy was trying to get the family together. Aletia lost her kid and now he got his girl preggo, its going to be interesting on how he handles it.

Tranq thought he could move in and take Angel's girl, that idea went out the window.

I was cracking up when Reyes showed up at Nestor's crib. Dude was all tatted up and had his hair loose looking like a crazy Samoan. And Reyes is going to go down somehow with that crazy Butcher dude now siding up with that Mayan chapter to take him out. Dude is all fucked up trying to kill his wife.

The season finale is going to be interesting.

Watched the season finale last night.

A lot of shit happened in that episode.

They closed out a lot of storylines from the past 3 seasons and opened up a shitload of new ones for future seasons.

Next season is going to be real interesting for sure.

‘Mayans M.C.’ And ‘Sons Of Anarchy’ Are Going To War In Season 4 Teaser Trailer

EXCLUSIVE: To say war is imminent in Season 4 of FX’s Mayans M.C. would be an understatement — it already has begun. Deadline has your exclusive first look at what’s ahead when the Mayans face off against Sons of Anarchy‘s SAMCRO in the teaser trailer above.

With Van Ghoste’s cover of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs “Off with Their Heads” setting the scene, men from both sides angrily embrace in defense of their families on the battlefield.

On one side, the Reyes siblings, EZ (JD Pardo) and Angel (Clayton Cardenas), are leading the pack, flanked by their loyal brothers Gilly (Vincent “Rocco” Vargas), Hank (Frankie Loyal) and Creeper (Joseph Lucero). But in order to win, they will need all hands on deck.

In the Season 3 finale, the fates of Bishop (Michael Irby) and Taza (Raoul Trujillo) lay in the balance after a gunshot was unleashed in a room where it is assumed only the pair are present. Taza committed an unforgivable sin in the eyes of the club, and to cover it up, he exposed his brothers to retaliation.

William Lucking Dies: ‘Sons of Anarchy’s Piney & Veteran Character Actor Was 80

So it’s only fair Taza and Bishop — as seen in the clip — are in the middle of all the action in Season 4.

Speaking of unforgivable sins, Coco (Richard Cabral) lost himself to addiction and was kicked out of the club. Thanks to his best friend Gilly, Coco’s life was spared and he lived another day to put some hurt on the Reapers.

On the Sons’ side, the imagery seems intentionally vague so the following is purely speculative. In a blink-and-you-missed-it shadow, it appears that Happy (David LaBrava) might have a role in this clash of the titans.

There’s also a jaw-dropping moment with EZ tussling with one of Charming’s own who, from the back, looks eerily like Jax Teller (Charlie Hunnam). But unless the war is going down in someone’s dream or in the depths of the beyond, a fair guess would be he’s fighting Rane Quinn (Rusty Coones).

One person noticeably missing from the melee is Marcus Alvarez (Emilio Rivera), who’s more of a free agent who can pick a side (but might not want to). He still could serve a pivotal role in brokering peace but it is still anyone’s guess — unless you are co-creator Elgin James.

Woooooo now that’s Show you open a season ( looking at you snowfall)
Shit!! Seems like day of reckoning is coming for San Pedro.. Yuma and the other chapters brung it to their doorstep literally! San Pedro members looking at Bishop like… you ain’t that MUTHAFUCKA no Mo’.
Yuma chapter have every right to kill all of them off- but I see Alvarez is back and control of all chapters.
Part 2- makes sense (although I disagree) I’d kill off all San Pedro members) but Alvarez made sure to bleed San Pedro dry with no connections, no house, basically being Mayans little bitches. And now Vice President is being a spy to report to Alvarez is in another level.. Bishop definitely gonna be gone this season

Just watched the first two episodes of the new season.

That season premiere definitely was probably one of the best episodes since this series debuted.

The suspense of watching how they were gonna get out of that shit kept me glued to the screen.

After the show started going 4 months later, that played out well showing the status of the club. Marcus coming back to the club will make this season good with him getting things back together.

I’m glad they are moving forward for now with Miquel and Adelita storylines, it was getting stale.

The end of episode 2 definitely opened up a bunch of new storylines. Seeing Emily was interesting.

EZ looking to have some drama coming to him from that cat in prison he hooked up with. Looks like a debt needs to be paid.

And SAMCRO is looking to make more of a presence this season. They introduced the San Bernardino, Cali chapter with their characters. Chibbs was mentioned which was good and shows he is still running things up North.

Looking forward to the season.

Just finished the last two episodes this afternoon.

I predict Bishop will have to be taken out along with Canche. No way the club can move forward and reunite with them two going on with their shit.

Seeing Miquel hiding out at his aunts covenant is pretty funny. Curious to see how he gets out of his situation with the rival Cartel after him.

Nestor had me laughing as a security guard. And now he joined up with the Mayans as a Prospect. Dude is loyal as fuck and will be a big asset for Marcus.

Shit is about to heat up between San Bernardino SAMCRO and Mayans with Chibs giving them full approval to take action.

They showed a preview of coming episodes and Tig is gonna make his debut. He looks to be in Los Angeles.
