How much does a suit cost?

No way im paying that much for a suit when I can go to a tailor here in dallas and she can make tge same suit custom for me at 375...with the same materials but cut to fit me only

It is handmade. $375 is a little cheap for these materials. Maybe $600 to $800. This is actually cheap for a Brioni. Nothing touches a well made Italian suit. You put this suit next to anything mentioned here and you can see and feel the difference.

What suit store you know drops price by 70%

But as another poster said above, you care about suits more if you wear them daily as opposed to once in a while, or just at church on sundays...

But seriously $400 for a fully fitted suit isn't bad... Next time you might as well get a Made to Measure (MTM) suit for $500... Those things make you feel like a million bucks. It's not the name brand of the suit, it's how it fits on your body anyway--so you're good OP

Since I am a senior sales executive, I have about 20-25 suits, and another 5-10 sports coats/blazers in my wardrobe and they are all of the high end variety. But you can get a quality Hugo Boss or Joseph Abboud suit for %60 off at Nordstrom Rack, or Off 5th and, before they closed, Mark Shale. These are the outlets for Nordstrom and Saks. The key is to catch the red tag sales. I can't tell you how many $800-$900 suits that I have bought in the $250-$300 range. I found a $1200 Ferre suit for $275 at Off 5th. I snatched that shit up with the quickness. I rarely pay full price. The key is to shop around.

And I have a real nice Korean tailor 3 blocks from my house. A great tailor is key to looking sharp.

Co/Sign. No 5 or 6 button suits for me. And my 4 button joints have been retired permanently.

Y'all some skinny leg suit wearing lames. I'm from Detroit and we been setting the trend for suits and gators for decades. Y'all clowns wearing then glued together factory made flat front legged suits. That used cars salesmen type shit. You don't wear that shit when you go out. Post one suit you have that you could wear with a pair of Mauri Gators?

This may be the funniest shit I've seen on BGOL all week...

I wear Ermenigildo Zegna suits. Retml at $1800-2800. I shop the sales and usually spend about $1200-1500. My favorite forum next to BGOL is Ask Andy (about clothes). You should ask that question on there. http://www.askandyaboutclothes.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?31-Andy-s-Fashion-Forum
I like your taste zegnas materials are awesome.. And askandy is my go to when I need to decide what to wear something that is out of my comfort zone....best time to shop for off the rack quality suits is black Friday at saks fifth...zegna fabric suit 700!!!!...listen to this man he knows what he is talking about... Im surprised no one mentioned men's warehouse... Also a decent store to find a low priced suit...material and tailor to fit is the key to avoid choppa suit/ old Steve harvey syndrome

Ever watched Showtime's House of Lies? I'm trying to find where can I get suits and ties like muthafuckin Marty Kaan. Whomever does wardrobe for Don Cheadle is making that character the best dressed man on TV in my opinion.

Saks and/or Barney's have two major sales a year, one about July and the other just before Christmas. I have Zegna suits that are 20-30 years old that still look and feel good. Can't tell you how good it is to have a woman who knows clothes, slide up, put her hands on your shoulder and say "nice feel". That's usually a quality woman. Ijs.

That's a lot of suits!--cool... With my build I need too many alterations when I buy a suit off the rack. There is only one brand of jacket that fits me OK, but requires alterations anyway (end up spending at least $150+ on alterations and reworking the suit, so rather buy a suit that fits). After a few nightmares, I have 1 italian tailor I go to that isn't cheap but the work is ALWAYS sharp and good the first time (used to go to a black dude, but the work took forever and had to return multiple times to get shit right)... For me, my suits need to be made to measure (can't afford/won't pay for true bespoke anytime soon), and they must fit like a glove, so I can't even really buy off the rack. I do have a friend that can literally buy off the rack and go right to a meeting with his suit on--I cannot, no matter what the brand--from the suits I've tried over the years.

Shirts--found a brand that works well enough off rack, so i can get away with that...

Need a version strictly for brothas too. Tired of seeing pencil drawn mustaches and goatees. Saw a mustache the other day looked like one of my wiz's eyebrows. Shades on indoors or dimly lit rooms. Chains on top of button ups? Let that camo go famo.

Lot of power in dressing mature. People for the most part take you more serious and you get a-list treatment from store workers, waiters etc. Some guys I grew up with are still keeping up with the high school - college trends. 30+ still dressing like they 19. It looks goofy sometimes.
