getting the suit cut right (proper alterations) can make even an inexpensive suit look like much more than it costs.
no one can save a choppa suit. but having access to a great tailor is more important than buying a brand name suit.

You paid retail for a Jos A Bank suit....yea you got ripped hard 
Yall crazy... my peoples company order directly from the distributors, and these fools pay 70-125 for these suits, Yall paying these fools building rents!

I agree but I think it depends on the location.
I bought several nice suits from the K&G on route 17 in Jersey back in 05. Ralph Lauren, Nautica, that kind of shit. K & G opened up in Harlem and the shit is a joke. U can find a nice suit here or there but their shit is generally not up to par. U can't find a nice shirt in there at all. I actually felt insulted looking at what they had in that store. Its pathetic. I dont know if they changed over time or if they just gave Harlem some bullshit but in either case they lost me as a customer.
Jos A Bank has nice shit but they run so many sales I can never pay for price for anything from them. I'm on the email list of several quality mens clothing stores.
If you're spending that much off the rack, why not just go Made to Measure and get a suit tailored with Zegna (or similar quality) material? It will fit you like a glove, and you can get it for the same price (actually little less) than the ($1200-1500) prices you're talking about

like everyone else said: good alterations will make a suit look real nice. $375 is not a lot for a good suit. if it's a fairly neutral color and has a classic cut, you'll use it for years.
I'd stay away from gimmicky or fashionable cuts because next year you'll be wearing last years suit.
idk where you are, but look for high end stores clearance sales. learn a little about fabrics. nothing, nothing drapes like fine wool.

Y'all clowns wearing then glued together factory made flat front legged suits. That used cars salesmen type shit. You don't wear that shit when you go out. No way im paying that much for a suit when I can go to a tailor here in dallas and she can make tge same suit custom for me at 375...with the same materials but cut to fit me only
