I have to disagree. I think the summer is way too problematic for Dre's money. If Dre plays his cards right, he'll have his money doing winter salts yearly. That's when all of that money movement really counts. Like they say in Westeros, Winter is Coming.

In the past 20 years, we've had two black men become majority owners of NBA teams; a black woman became a billionaire and is, if I'm correct, a 50% owner of a TV network; Obama, a black man, became a two-term president; and Dr. Dre is now filthy rich. A dude from the HOOD-HOOD. Hell, from a hood that's famous for how hood it was during his time.
That's to say NOTHING of the successes of guys like Tyler Perry, Diddy, etc.
These are simply the individuals that are visible, but the more of them there ARE, the more of a shifting there is in the collective self-esteem of blacks in America.
Slowly but surely, black presence in business and corporate America is growing.
No one said any of these people are the best human beings in the world. However, you TAKE from them the positive that you can.

Why not state it accurately and honestly and say "WE get to look at these people and pretend and delude ourselves into believing we have achieved accomplishments within their system and under their nose or right in their face."
We all know that to be false, they give us money and wealth because they know we will not only MAINTAIN their system but turn around and give it back and make them even MORE money through us than we were given with no exertion on their part required.
Let us call it what it is and not pretend it's something more grandiose and meaningful. Look at Tyrese and his reaction, the swelling up off of getting more money....just more money yet you pubbing Forbes because THE SYSTEM and its structure is what folks are basing their own worth and identity on.
Tyrese went from the empowering self-worth spewing Dalai Lama to Crip walking and cursing and showing ignorance, something we can search YOutube for and won't find whites, or Asians or the Indian diamond families bragging about and making fools of themselves and feeling the need to make sure others see it. We are inherently ruined people within this system, in actuality we are no different than white folks anymore other than pigment, we want what they tell us we are supposed to want and that is whatever they have.
