Black Americans are or should be part of Africans. The problems arise
when a small population of people goes to Africa and attempts to treat
on the basis of cultural equivalence. It does not work that way. You can
assimilate, and be an African, or you can remain a black American and
essentially be an outside foreigner living in Africa. The choice is yours.
There will not a meeting where we sit at a table and agree on a culture
based on an average made by adding yours and ours, and diving by
2. If I decide to move to Kenya, I am going to learn Swahili, eat what
they eat, and become what the black people there are. If I move to say
Nigeria, I will speak Pidgin English, eat egwusi soup, and become Nigerian.
When Nigerians move to Uganda, they do the same thing. It takes time but
they eventually learn LuGanda, Swahili and happily eat matoke. As a black
American, you can choose to embrace your full African blackness, or be
the half-white American, and remain outside African society. The choice
is yours
