Once you download the file... remove the .zip extension so the file ends in .ipsw
Mac Users: Option + click > Restore > navigate to file
PC users: Shift + click > Restore > navigate to file

MY UPDATE PROGRESS (LIVE)
1. Did a backup of my iPhone (sync). Started update... so far so go..
2. Currently said "restoring" then I got this message
3. iPhone restarted.. then I got a msg on iTunes saying choose a file to restore from.. which I chose my last sync (your most recent backup should say 'iPhone'
4. msg appeard on my iphone saying "Restore in Progress" and "iPhone os activated"
5. No problems yet.. still waiting for the restore of my backup to complete
6. restore just completed
7. Update complete.. iPhone restarting.. here is a screen shot... blacked out my serial number and phone #
