Last month, FIFA president Sepp Blatter admitted that choosing “high-risk” Qatar as the host of the the World Cup was a “mistake”, and the international federation is currently performing an investigation into possible corruption surrounding Qatar’s successful bid.
So far, five of FIFA’s six main sponsors have publicly issued statements of concern relating to the Qatar bid, with Visa’s chief marketing officer Antonio Lucio stating that he would expect FIFA to take “aggressive action” if any of the claims proved to be true.
Meanwhile, Qatar has denied any wrongdoing, including claims of bribery. FIFA’s report is set to come out next month.

Via @ESPN_JorgeRamos: alert: #FIFA called #USSoccer to have ready an organizing Committee for 2022. There would be no #Mundial in #Qatar

Please let this happen!

FIFA should come to Central Florida.

We have Raymond James Tampa - Bucs, Disney Wide World in South Orlando, University of Central FL stadium, the Citrus Bowl home of the new Orlando MLS team and Dome Tropical Fields in St Petersburg.

5 stadiums in 100 miles along Interstate 4. Plus plenty of hotels and beaches and amusement park. Disney, Universal, Busch Gardens and Seaworld.

:dance::yes::yes: I live between both Orlando and Tampa. YES! Hoping this happens as well. Central Florida would be perfect, especially with Orlando City starting in a year.

Was actually thinking about this the other day....possible locations if the World Cup came here

I think Florida gets one (was thinking Miami but maybe Orlando where the new team plays)
NY/NJ (hopefully where the Red Bulls play and not Yankee Stadium or MetLife)
DC
LA
Seattle (Sounders seem to have a good fan base so would be a good location)
Dallas (you know jerry will lobby his ass off to have them play there)

then i don't know.....maybe Boston, Chi, I'd throw a not really thought about city like KC some love

If it came back to the US, they won't play in MLS Soccer Specific stadiums. The MLS stadiums don't have anywhere near as large as the capacity/seating space as an American Football Stadium.

The 1994 World Cup was the biggest money making WC in history. They will want to repeat that.

Trust, any games in the NYC area will be at MetLife Stadium and either in the Citrus Bowl or Raymond James and Joe Robbie/Miami Dolphin/ProPlayer/Landshark/Whatever the fuck they call it now Stadium.

Soldier Field will host it again
Metlife
Gillette Stadium
New 49er Stadium
Redskins Stadium
Dallas Cowboy Stadium
Seattle Seahawks Stadium (where Sounders play)
Maybe Ford Field...but it's so cold in the D.

Hell, I'd be cool if the US/Canada both hosted as a joint bid. Games could be held in Toronto/Montreal and Vancouver.

The US had/has the infrastructure, which is why the 1994 WC was so successful. There is no building of roads, hotels, stadiums, etc... needed.

Yeah I know, but the way the costs have exploded for these countries to host the World Cup and Olympics is just crazy. That $14 billion isn't even counting the costs overruns, people are saying it could be as high as double that. That doesn't even include the money they are spending to host the Summer Olympics.

Shit is just crazy when you put it in perspective, now I see why no one wants to host the 2022 Winter Olympics.

It is not that simple. If FIFA does this, they risk a revolt from the majority
of the member federations. This bullshit started with the Sunday Times
of England printing accusations, and now there is an investigation headed
by an American lawyer. If Qatar is removed, the World Cup is likely to go
to an neutral venue, a country that is not involved in the bullshit of the US.

While we are on the subject of questionable bids, how did the US get the
1993 World Cup when it did not even have a football league?

It is amazing to see Americans who know nothing about the sport
and profess to have no interest in it, have so much to say about
it. If Argentina were to build for that World Cup, it is entirely likely
that they would get it.

Brazil might be fucked economically/socially after hosting both the WC and Olympics in a two year stretch. Probably done on purpose. Isn't Russia hosting the next World Cup next too. Are All BRIC nations set to host an International Sporting event in the near future?

:smh:

Every World Cup is successful. This is the World's sport, there is no shortage of
money. Fifa does not need the US; the US needs FIFA. The World Cup must
stay in Qatar. It is the right thing to do. This is an egalitarian sport, and every
one is equal

shut the fuck up

Qatar should've had the World Cup revoked when it was reported that over 600 slaves had already died while building their stadium.

It was a stupid decision from the get go. FIFA needs to save face, pay back the bribes and move the World Cup somewhere.. preferably somewhere that isn't gonna end up sticking their tax payers for newly built stadiums that won't be used past the world cup.

:smh:
How is $11 billion going to fuck a country with a positive current account and a GDP
of more than $2Trillion. Brazil will be fine.

America has 1.5 million black men in jail. The US was less deserving of the
1994 World Cup than Qatar is. You shut the fuck up. Go and talk about Rap
Music or something you know something about.

take it from Russia and give it to us in 2018
No Keep where it is. If it moves, then let it go to Saudi Arabia.
It is the turn of the Middle East. We built this sport by supporting.
It is popular because it was built the right way. Fuck the US. The
World Cup should stay where it is. If they do not like it, let them
go back to playing their own sports.

It is not the US turn. There is system of rotation incepted
by Blatter. The Middle East gets it next, then Russia, then
maybe North America, if Oceania does not exert its bid..
The US may be eligible in 2030

Football does not need the US. All the billionaires in the World, and all
the people the world, are invested in football. No one thinks about the
US and that is the problem. The US would like to be the center of all
attention, and that is why it is making all this noise. The World Cup
was the single biggest political or sporting event in the world whenever
it occured, before the US even qualified for it. Nobody cared or cares
about the US.

Its the pressure from the sponsors that could get the world cup out of there.

Who wants to go to a world cup where you can't drink, can't hold your woman's hand, not mention the sun baking weather hovering around 110 degrees.

Fuck Qatar!
