If you are talking about the board that is currently named Blackgirl Online it can keep the exact same name. If members want to change it no problem. The Barbershop and The Basement are good names. Once things shake out we will run a poll and what name wins will be the name.

Like I suggested a long time ago, if you want to make money you will have to re brand BGOL. Regulate the trolls more aggressively. Can't have a "talk shit and post pics" attitude. More Disney and less rated R. This place will have to reach a wider audience with less hostility from the members.

This place also has a LOT of data. Many in depth reviews on products and services from a black perspective. Car reviews, tech reviews, vacation reviews, movie reviews, restaurant reviews from across the country... how about all the educational, employment or investment advice from an "urban" point of view? That alone has a lot of value.
There's money to be made around here but HNIC wasn't trying to hear it back in the day so those suggestions fell flat.

I’m talking about the other board... we could also merge the other board with the new board. I do see the need for having separate sex forums.. if the other board is going to end up like classic BGOL and off the grid...
But I do see how it’s going to be tough to drive traffic to a board that’s going to be Ad supported. Isn’t this kind of what you intended with the grownfolks board and that place is a ghost town. You might want to think about adding tiered membership options..
Like you have regular membership that has access to the main board and certain other boards but if you want access to premium content Aka the uncensored BGOL board, the sex forums, the entertainment threads... or game threads that contain exclusive shit.. then you pay a little extra.
You will get push back from a lot of folks ... but in the end folks are going to pay. It’s too much good shit downstairs.
But some members will be cool with just having accessed to regular BGOL.
That way you will still have new blood coming to the board to talk shit... but for the members that like seeing naked bitches and free downloads.. they can pay to access it.
You can call it BGOL+ and make it a monthly membership that a member can opt into and out... instead of the Patreon... you use that. 7 dollars a month.

1. We create the new forum, it will be visible to everyone.
2. We make what is now the Main Board visible to donors only. Let them post and reply like they always do with no restriction.
3. Move or Copy all non porn threads to the new clean forum. On a daily basis we will move all non porn content to the new board. (I have no problem copying threads, we will only be depending on the main forum for a few months).
3A. Setup a move team of 3-4 people who will tag non porn threads that can be moved to the main board.
4. After we get 20-30 pages deep start the Ad program.
Some High post count members like @playahaitian @Lexx Diamond may want to handle their own moves since they are down to help us make this happen. We can work with that.

This works, the only thing is I would move non porn threads and not copy them. Copying won't force current members to use the new forum, divides replies since the discussion would be ongoing in two sections and takes up server space. We need old heads and new members to participate to make this successful, otherwise everyone can hide out on the old forum and snubb the new folks.
If we just clean and move the non porn threads as they are replied to, then we can keep the new board active. I'd like to think this would also make some of the old heads happy that complain about all the non porn topics on the main board. They will finally have a all adult forum, no current events.
It will be at least a week on the avatar, I'll let you know. All your threads should remain in the same place according to this plan. I still need feedback from a few more folks before it becomes the official plan.I like this idea... The nice side and the dark side

For future reference server space is a non issue at this time.
OK I'm cool with a straight move of the threads, the only reason I ever say copy a thread is I've lived in this world where everything is a cluster fuck for 20 years, but other disciplined boards move threads all the time.
I guess I'll hit you up with the next set of issues and a soft flow chart and we will go from there.

I think this is a great idea. And you deserve to get the bread you should be getting. Plus I barely come here for the porn these days. It's just like a side serving. The information and barbershop/playground style camaraderie is what's really good.

This board failed when HNIC let members run women off the board and Vet members run amuck. The boards was at its highest growth potential when SOL was in its beginning stages. You had new faces, joining the board everyday, pornstars, etc. HNIC allowed those who weren't willing to support the board financially to dictate the direction of the board. HNIC you gotta looking at the members to accomplish what you want to achieve, because the support aint there.
Letting these assholes run the women off the board was the biggest mistake I ever made. There was no support for controlling the situation, everyone was hell bent on making every woman prove she was a female. I may not ever get the chance again, but if I do things will be different.

Don't know what exactly you are thinking is debatable, but alot of the vets were against donating, most of those same vets were against women joining the board.
Glad you see it for what it was. it was not just them having to prove they were females, they were attacked. Yes that time has passed. There was support but they were out numbered, You got caught up in the whole this is a barber shop argument. Anyway, whats done is done.
As for the growth, the "Roll call" thread on SOL had at least 1 new member a day. Pornstars joining and posting.
Anyway.
I would suggest you study some of the social media sites and kinda pull ideas from them.
Not going to happen, they screwed me around one time, can't let them do it twice.
