Man I remember when I first got on bgol I was downloading so much porn I still to this day wouldn’t be able to watch all the porn I downloaded. Also I use to get my free adobe off this Bitch and all my music programs. This place was a gold mine but now with all software going to cloud format and porn so easily assessable it kinda force the board to Morph into what it is now. It’s like how fast food restaurants are using kiosk to take your orders instead of humans. Shit evolves and it’s either adapt or get lost in the sauce.

I’m not made at HNIC for doing what he gotta do to keep the board alive because honestly if it was me I’d probably say the hell with it.

I left before because I never took anything from the board except community, laughs, info and porn pics. Some would say that's worth paying for, I'd argue differently. I never downloaded bootleg movies or music and don't intend to. I always felt a added more to the board than I took from it. That's from all my id's as :Aquarian, AFKAQ,Nosmo King and Lou_Kayge.

The main board has been open for a few years now, so I don't see any big changes. Ten and Lexx will still be the main board mods (Blackgirl Online) and they have done a great job over the years.

The new forum will have it's own mods, I really don't see it being this huge success immediately. It's nothing more than a place where I can run some legit ads and in time remove some of the financial stress.

Gump is another word for homo and shim she+him is tranny. So on the section of the new board for the old school members we still want a ban in place and not get homo and tranny bombed. So those new weird dudes better beware when they come to our section of the new board they will not be welcomed and dealt with hostility. As long as they keep their weirdness away from us things will be fine. I just want mods in place for our section that will enforce the no homo/tranny rule what they do elsewhere on the upgrade makes no difference to me. I am just speaking for myself but I think others understand my sentiment on maintaining our culture. As someone under 35 who has been an active member on this board for more than half of my life, I thought it was interesting that HNIC's ad strategy is to double down on that rather than expand.

I think that's probably a smart move, though I'm not sure I'd put all my eggs in that basket.

To be honest with you ronmch20 we are running out of paying members. If I didn't let them participate there would be less people posting. Also folks who have paid for years just stopped paying also. If you decide to quit supporting the board financially it will be more normal than you think. We lose about 20 paying member a month, that's been going on since 2009.

That's why I'm starting this new program, it's the only way to save the board.

I just setup a test board today, I'm upgrading the board to Xenforo 2.1.4, I'm going to add a portal page and a few other wrinkles, implement my plan and hope for the best.

Are paying members supposed to get "Shop Related Products" ads? They're super annoying because they load later than the rest of the page, so I often go to click the most recent reply in my watched threads and end up with an unwanted tab popping up instead.

I'm in full survival mode right right now, with bills coming at me like heat seeking missiles, and I still have to spend more money to replace all of my plugins. I just haven't spent a lot of time thinking about how to have less money. (not trying to be a dick)

When we are a month or 2 out of the transition hit me up and I'll try to work something out for you.

In fairness; there’s been basically ONE member (he pays, it is what it is) who has been posting 95% of the WSHH links.

I get your point but BGOL has become more of a “news of the day”; “topic of the day/week” spot as the Internet continues to grow and the Board’s base gets older. The last five years have basically been @HNIC stabilizing the Board to ensure that it didn’t crash every night during prime time hours (if you weren’t here, it fucking sucked), getting rid of the FTPs (it was even worse than the Board crashing having a thread hijacked by some asshole posting he-she’s) and a generally movement away from mainly porn in the main page to more robust and mature (sometimes Lol) discussions. Even ocking is way down.

I started answering your question last night and half way through I figured out I was answering the wrong question.

Your question is when is the advertiser friendly board going to open, that may take another 7 days.

I was answering the question about when I'm going to upgrade the board from XenForo 1.5.2 to XenForo 2.1.4 which is a major upgrade. I'm going to make that change in probably 3 days.

I want to get the home page portal setup first (that will be the spot where most people enter the website). That's where all of our original articles will be posted. I'm thinking we need original content before we kick off the new forum.

So I've been working on getting my plug-ins straight. Since this is a major upgrade I have to purchase all new plugins. Some I had special made like the Adult Videos embed plugin. He just got back with me over the weekend with his price.

I'm still waiting on the person who setup my payment processor to get back with me, hopefully he will do so today/tomorrow.

In summary, I'm going to do a board upgrade in 3 days if everything goes correct. Then install my Home Page portal. Figure out how we are going to handle those who want to write articles for us. (we have a lot of talented people on deck) Then I'll work towards fixing all of the bugs.

Then we will setup the new advertising friendly board, get all of our rules in place, then tweak as we move forward.

There are a lot of other things that have to be done, but this is the basic outline.
