They made a policy based on pressure from the apple/itunes store not to allow forums with adult content to use their app. That policy had us screwed up for a long time.
When the finally were willing to work with us, we had moved on to the current responsive layout which seems to work fine. Some members want to go back to tapatalk, but I felt screwed so I never went back.

I haven't set a date, probably within the next 30 days. The reality is not much will change. You will still have access to the the Main Board (Blackgirl Online), and every other forum on the board.
We are creating a new forum that will be a clean version of what we do here, There are a lot of permission problems etc I must work out before this can happen.

I'm all for you making money off this site. My suggestion once the new board comes up, you need to be a much more active presence on it. If you want it to be a money maker, you're going to have to hustle to make it happen.
Let's be honest, it seems like this board is largely on cruise control. We're all used to it.
But if I went to a new board that seemed on auto-pilot, I'd be less likely to keep coming. I mean why would expect someone else to be excited about posting on a board that the owner isn't even excited to post on?
That means adding features, updates, shit like that. You want the average new visitor to feel like they're on a well run site.
And, I am 1000% serious about this, you might not know it, but there's a borderline pedo crew on this board that you need to stress will get banned, permanently on the other board.
Folks arguing that sex with 14 and 15 year olds is ok had ME questioning how much I wanted to be here, I can just imagine a new visitor, first time on the site. I'd never come back if I was them.

When I first BGOL it was all about downloading content...the style of post have changed and my reasoning for being here has changed...I continue to donate to the cause because of the conversation...the post and pics dont hurt...but some of the Brothers on here bring a true conversation to the Group.... I guess what I'm saying is i will continue to support the cause...Ain't nothing wrong with a Man trying to make his money

I wake up every morning at 6:00-7:00 AM and I do what I call my morning routine, which takes between 3-4 hours. All of that work is done in the Admin area, I then go through the 1st few pages of the main board, then most of the other forums looking for problems. I then answer PM's. Most days I will comment on threads that have been posted.
This board appears to be on cruise control for a reason. This board is on a shoe string budget, we are losing members everyday, so I have to make sure we have enough members to have a forum, there is a formula to make that happen. It's not magic. It's one black man behind the scene doing work.
I post here most days, but sometimes I spend the entire day researching plugins, answering questions from member who have detailed questions. Right now I'm working on all of the problem that come with adding a new forum. It's not as easy as adding the forum and telling everyone I'm here. You have to have a different set of permissions for each forum, and each forum has to act differently. Here are some problem I'm working on: (1) Can I let the Main board continue to have sigs, but dis allow signatures on the new board. (2) Can I censor the new board, but continue to let the old board curse and be who they have been for 20 years. (3) How can I ban a member from one forum, but not banned a member from the entire website. These questions don't answer themselves. I have to answer these questions and it takes time. Once you find a suitable answer you have to run test to make sure it will work. I can go on and on.
They are on a well run website, but I aim to make it better. I'm going to update the board soon I hope, it cost money. I'm going to add a portal, which is an entry page that highlights the top topics, and I have a few more things up my sleeve.
I'm not aware of this, show me some threads and we will handle it.

I disagree. Some of the most popular threads have no porn in them. You have the hurricane threads, the celebrity death threads, the sports threads, the political threads, the funny threads, etc.
Plus, HNIC has made it clear that the board is already dying due to the cost. He's making these changes in an attempt to save it.
I was thinking the opposite will happen. The board needs new members badly. Each morning I have to literally put you on ignore just to see the remainder of the board because you are the only one posting
Look at a typical sports thread. Game day around here you can barely get two pages. Other sites have 100 pages on game days
If you and few other stopped posting, we would really see the negative impacts. We needs new infusion of members who can bring a more wide verity of content

I'm going to try and have everything going by the end of September. Like I said earlier there really will not be a lot of change other than we will add a new forum and will be sending traffic to the new forum.
The new board will not be everyone's cup of tea, that's why we will still have the Main Board (currently Blackgirl Online).

To get that money, the new board will have to follow moral code. Unfortunately the moral code in North America keeps sex and taboo issues away from the dinner table. The structure will be the success of the board, but what direction to follow? The Christian way?

I'm not hating on your come up. I'm just saying that this is a trend on other platforms I used to rock with. Once you enter that arena, all of a sudden, that group you was trying to get the bag from will find out about this place. The things that are being said on here will be deemed "problematic to the overall business structure".

I agree. However, you misinterpret what I said.
First of all, I wasn't talking about the porn. Porn is on other platforms. The issues is the rhetoric on here from an OUTSIDE perspective. Once you open that world up to the BGOL landscape, how long will it take for someone to find this place, and complain on vice/buzzfeed/the root/etc.
Secondly, the real play is for HNIC to separate this brand from the new one. Meaning, someone on her needs to buy this straight up. That's the only way that HNIC wouldn't have to destroy this board for the new platform.
