40 pounds in 40 days! Attempt number 2

yo on some real shit,
it took me like a year just to lose a measly 27 lbs no bullshit.
it took me a year of trying diff stuff and finding what worked for ME.
I did read or hear that somewhere before too that it takes at least a year to find a routine.

at first i started doing cardio,but i was still eating bad. bacon egg and cheese on a croissant with a snapple every morning (thats like 700 cals already) so i need not go through the rest of the day,and i wasn't really seeing any progress.Started to eat better got down to like 188 i was STUCK there FOREVER. Started lifting weights and cardio was still stuck,said fuck the weights imma just go hard on the cardio until i get to my desired weight and then i`ll go from there. Made it my goal fro there to eat 1200-1500 cals a day and burn at least 500 of that. I would put the treadmill on 3.8 speed and 15 incline bam 500 cals in 40 mins and steady weight loss.Then said fuck it,bought a sauna suit & Started doing cardio twice a day 800-100 cals burned 2-3 lbs a week routinely.

its just trial and error man....many a times u gonna get discouraged,disappointed etc etc..

I find a lot of folks over-complicate this body building stuff. It really boils down to trial and error. There's a little basic science but it's mostly an art and it's very individual. Which is why some shit may work like gang busters for one dude and the exact same routine may deliver nothing but frustration to the next dude.

building and maintaining muscle burns fat. it also makes you want to eat more. so you just have to be disciplined and find a balance of daily calorie intake that will maintain your muscle but not too much to store fat.

find that balance and you'll accelerate your fat loss.

To be honest you where over doing everything. Get a Heart Rate Monitor and you will be surprised how much less intensity you will need to burn fat. Down load Fitday. It's on the board and start monitoring what you eat. It's great to eat clean. But eating below maintenance will cause wait lost. It's that easy. LINK You can eat Twinkies and as long as you eat below maintenance you will lose wait. But that's NOT the best way. I have a cheat meal ever week. I don't do a whole day. I will eat Thai with white rice once a week but I skip breakfast that day. It's a lifestyle change not prison.

Lifting Heavy is 6 - 8 Reps to Failure. If you make it to 8 Reps add weight. Cardio after lifting only, as much as you want but you need to be in the fat burning zone.

Get yo ass back to it. Fucking up is part of life. You will fuck up again too. But quitting is not a option. I'm going to work out.

Diet
In step one (213-166) I ate many small meals every day. And kcal intake was about 1000 aday.
Food looked like:
Cottage cheese/quark
Tuna in water
Egg whites
And lots of broccoli

In step 3 (233-198) I tryed a diffrent diet IF, and I strongly recomend it! Kcal intake was 1500-2000.
Food was like:
Meat
Chicken
Cottage cheese/Quark
Cheese
Eggs
And lots of vegtebels

Suplements has been:
Creatine
Whey
BCAA
Omega 3
Multi vitamin

Cardio

In step 1 (213-166) i was obssesed with the tought of getting fit, so i rushed my diet with loads of cardio, twice aday I took long fast walks, morning and evening. About 70 min each time.

In step 3 (233-198)
I maybe took 3 walks every week for about an hour each time, and i wasnt so obssesed with getting fit fast, and i must say i liked this approach much more!

Work out

Been keeping it pretty simple, during the cuts i have been doing low reps to keep my strength.

During the bulk i have switched betweeen low reps and high reps.

Bench, deadlifts, and squats have been the base of my workouts.

To enhance my martial arts, and I used to be overweight. I was in good shape until my thirties, then because of inactivity and bad eating habits my weight ballooned to 258 pounds. I joined a gym, that's where I met my MMA instructor and we worked out and did kickboxing and jujitsu. The weight slowly came off over the next 3 years with 80-90 pounds of fat lost and then 15-20 pounds of muscle gained.

My cheat days are nothing like my cheat days before...I haven't even really had any cravings for sweets lately. Stuffed my face yesterday with 12 raspberry filled cookies (1,200 cal) within 10 minutes.

Man if I can keep this up for 3 months, I won't even have to worry about getting in shape for next summer. 4 more days to complete week 2.

I do a cheat meal. A day would be too much right now. Even when I eat dirty I try to stay at maintenance calories by skipping meals. But you know what your doing. You'll be alright.

But i need to go back to my bowl of oatmeal in the morning, fruits and veggies through the day and grilled/baked chicken and fish at dinner. Lots of broccoli. Up by 5lbs but I ain't sweating it. Fucked up and ended having a cheat weekend but hey you gotta enjoy life. I have been lifting what I consider heavy weight for the past 3 weeks and now switching to a high rep (10-20) routine for a week or two to heal my muscles.

I love high reps because with all that blood circulating, I look huge. Slowly leaning down but for fucking up this weekend I'm doing a straight keto diet till Saturday...Honestly I don't even think I've hit a ketosis state since beginning my journey to 185lbs.

Goals, I've been really working on my pull ups because I suck at them. I would like to be able to do 10 pull ups for 5 sets with 25lbs of weight by January. I gotta step up my cardio too, I want to be able to run a sub 6 minute mile by January.

I'm not losing weight anywhere fast as the first time around on Keto diet, but I'm still noticing fat loss. Had a cheat weekend, doing that all the time now because a cheat day isn't enough with my odd schedule and football season underway. 1 week away from a month, 2 more to go...

sad shit but i didnt give up! i knew i had to try something different so i switch to the diet alex recommended.. which is basically all meat with the cla pills.. so today im actually down to 256... i will weigh my self in the morning and post it!


so far i have lost 22 pounds in 30 days.. i still got 10 days left so lets see what happens.. smh

Not trying to burst anyones bubble, but a lot of those cat's are using steriods while they diet down to those low ass body fat percentages. I'm not saying that it cant be done without them, but to really retain your muscle mass and get shreded, you need the juice and a low carb diet, or targeted keto diet. Dont just change how you eat and workout till you loose the weight, make it a lifestyle change.......... just my two cents. Keep up the good work fella's.

Is it worth working out with thermogenics like Lipo 6, man scorch, xenadrine or hydroxycut? I read somewhere you lose 3 times more fat as being on a normal diet with exercise

Missed 3 days of the gym this week when I was doing so well...FUCK!

Making more progress...I'm estimating it's going to take me at max 6 months to reach a :eek: body that I imagine...Don't think I can last that long tho.

My left arm contines to grow in size while my right refuses to. It's definitely a tricep problem. I don't want to become this guy

that spike in weight was probably just water weight,if u were eating out more than likely u were eating salt filled foods which cause water retention,no way u gain 8 lbs from one bad weekend.

picked up those CLA pills myself.

i been fucking up major. i am still strong as hell but i been fucking up on the cardio and the eating. i will be in this thread everyday!

i am going to be tight by thanksgiving.
