170

and you are supposed to weigh yourself EVERYDAY at the same time preferably in the morning

damn bro u shredded the fuck out! i need to get down to 170:eek:

Props to everyone posting pics. Betterman and A TO Dah K, you guys look great and honestly I'd like to be a little leaner. But I was just trying to point out you can be a big dude but still look good too and in shape

I may buy a scale tomorrow and see If I can shred down to maybe 205 or 200. My head is too big to go down to 170

Again props to BGOL for not clowning these pics in a positive thread

This ain't no check mate homie. You told my man, "By all means excuse yourself from the thread, you continually exibit you have absolutely no clue to what the fuck you are talking about."

He's about twice as big as you. You're cut right now. But you won't get as big as him without bulking. Now I didn't go back and read the whole convo. But you two need to agree to disagree. I'm going to work out.
Post yo picz homie. Don't be writing this long ass response. Him and Betterman stepped up and posted. We got a homie cut up and one on swole. You mentioned it first. Fuckyou needs motivation. Don't worry we'll wait. You got some so don't front. (No homo).
The points been made dont matter who made it. Homie didnt know what the fuck he was talking about. I said i was done before he posted but still came and gave him props on his progress. The fact remains the "losing weight is useless" and "weighing yourself everyday is wrong" comments were flat out bad info, and thats even more apparent now. And looking at your comments about bulking, apparently you missing the point yourself. Again, the point is cats need to stop passing out bullshit info while shitting on the routes others take. Again, props to RepostKing on his work though.

Wait hold on bruh thanks for the props but ur acting like its ur way or the highway. OBVIOUSLY the way I did it works for me as a bigger larger frame so where do you get off saying my points were bullshit or bad info. AND I'm only 6'0.

Whats bullshit is you not posting ur results to back up ur talk. I can agree to disagree but saying my way of just going by the mirror and my clothers while working out and eating right wont yield results has been proven incorrect. It worked for me and I will tell anyone you dont and shouldnt weigh yourself everyday or even every week.

The OP wants to get in shape. Weightloss is the by-product of getting in shape in the first place, thus making it secondary to the program. The OP is making weightloss primary and focusing on the wrong thing in my opinion.

BUT there is more than one weigh to achieve this journery.

Oh and piece Donwaun, appreciate it.

Again, I think the OP is using the scale as a MOTIVATIONAL TOOL for getting in shape. What works as a source of motivation (ie. looking at yourself in the mirror to see how your pants fit) might be deemed useless by another person. I get what you're saying but if the OP wants to use the scale as a motivator and it is effective for him how can you say that he is taking the wrong approach? He seems to have a balanced workout program and he doesn't seem to be obsessing over the # he sees on the scale so he should be good. Your thoughts?

I honestly have nothing to tell you what you haven't heard before but everytime I fall off I look at these dudes who are doing it big time for motivation.I wish you nothing but success in attaining your goals!

Transformations Skinny to Mass

Just work hard, take it day by day and it will pay off. Don't stress over it and continue enjoying life. About every 8 weeks I take a whole week off from the gym and eat whatever I please. Once a year I take a whole months off from the gym eating what I please.

For example, I know November is a big event month with the holidays and I was getting pretty burned out at the gym so I took the month off. I decided that I would start counting calories in December to reach my goal. It was great because I was still eating what I liked, just in moderation.

My fitness regimen consisted of

About 15 minutes of lifting at moderate weight (to retain muscle memory and not burn myself out during the week)

Chestx10 Supersetted Bicepx10
Tricepsx10 Supersetted Backx10
Shoulderx10 Supersetted Shrugsx10
Elevated Weighted Sit-ups x10

45 minutes of cardiovascular activity followed by a 10 minute cool down in the sauna.

I did this 5 days a week.

11-2-09 193.4lbs
11-30-09 200.4lbs
12-7-09 195.2lbs
12-14-09 190.2lbs
12-21-09 188lbs
12-29-09 185.2lbs

Results = 15lbs of of weight loss. Again I lost some "muscle" but my strength stayed exactly the same.

OMG, I cant believe you talked ALL THIS SHIT and just proved my freakin point. Ur total weight loss was only 15 lbs BUT yet ur encouraging FU to lose 70 lbs cuz that what he would need to do to get to where ur at. Obviously you didn't stress the scale.

NOW which makes more sense, drop 13 lbs but have a similar physique to mine or kill himself trying to drop 70 lbs and stressing weighing his ass everyday...:smh:

Good question and one I should have answered earlier. I've failed and got discouraged sooooo many times when the scale wasnt moving. I wanted soooo much to have a lean frame like betterman or A K.

I would binge and quit when my weight loss stalled at only 10 lbs for months. But then I started noticing more muscle and my clothes fitting better. I started accepting my frame for what it is.

I realized I was focusing on the wrong thing. I threw out my scale and focused on heavy weights, cardio and eating clean. By the time I reached the goal in the pics I had lost only 3 or 5 more pounds. BUT IF during that time I didnt stop weighing myself I would have quit and never made it to this point. And thats because weight loss was getting in the way of me getting in shape.

I got you brother. Hopefully you get what I'm saying now though. You say you became discouraged when you only lost 10 in a month. The OP might notice the same changes in a month's time and decide he needs to grind harder (run more, lift heavier, change his motivation from losing weight to gaining muscle, etc.). Essentially, one man's trash is another man's treasure.

Most Def there is more then one way to do this. Unlike Amajor I admit that lol. On the weightloss you miss-read I was discouraged because it had been months and I only lost 10 lbs. I was hearing how kats on here had drop 30 or 40 lbs in the time it took me to lose 10. I was soooo close to quitting.

Peace

I got you. I actually suggested HIIT for the OP bc the point where your body no longer responds is inevitable whether trying to lose fat or gain muscle mass. Have to keep your body asking "what's next" to see results. Peace.

And for the OP...KEEP GRINDING!

Props to everyone posting pics. Betterman and A TO Dah K, you guys look great and honestly I'd like to be a little leaner. But I was just trying to point out you can be a big dude but still look good too and in shape

Again props to BGOL for not clowning these pics in a positive thread

yes my brother you are correct, you can be big and in shape and look excellent also,it's all a matter of preference. I'm only 5`9 though so i don't want that stocky look,i think the taller you are the better you will look with more mass'

Hum started restricting Carbs on monday, today I am 6 lbs lighter

This does not make any damn sense at all, something is wrong....

I am going to test out new balances tomorrow...

Water weight mainly.

Very true, I know we all have different types but this just rubbed me the wrong way.

No you stop cuz you dont shit about getting in shape.
Just cuz he's losing weight has nothing to do with him getting shape and weighing himself like a dumb ass every day is counter productive. But keep telling him to watch paint dry :smh:

Oh well, agree to disagree. Props on hitting them weights hard.

Dang A to K, you got shredded forreal.

I work nightshift and I watch my kids during the day.

6.6lb difference.

I added apples, peanuts, and seeds to my diet. I have no more than 50g of carbs per day now.

When you guys say "lift heavy". How many reps n sets are you guys doing? How often do y'all go "heavy" per month?

I can't get my muscles to pop for nothing.

damn bruh fell off on the weekend but im back on it! :smh:
Its ok FUCKYOU, it happens. Look at the weekend as your cheat day for the month and pick the ball back up man. You on a long journey to change man. Stay positive and focused fam. Dont try to overcompensate for the weekends relapse either. Just jump back on your same program and keep pushing!!

that's real talk.

one major lesson that took years and years for me to learn is that, when trying to lose weight (especially a lot of weight), you HAVE to make a lifestyle change.

most people that want to lose a significant amount of weight, thinks that they can just eat certain food and/or exercise for a while and get the pounds down and then they can go back to eating whatever they did before they lost the weight. the next thing they know, they're fatter and unhealthy than they ever were. :smh:

people who are really serious about this must realize that you have to make a lifestyle change and that means making changes in your life FOREVER, and not just short term for a quick fix!

it's just like marriage. before you say "i do", you have to ask yourself, "do i want to be with this person for the rest of my life? and not fuck no one else? until i die?? if more people sat down and truly asked themselves this question, there would probably be a lot less married and divorced people.
:dunno:

hum so for me being 6' my ideal weight should be between

140 - 184 lbs :hmm:

Is that serious??

I do want to go under 200 but really below 184 is ridiculous

I think it's a mistake to focus strictly on "weight". People are built to carry weight differently (skeletal structure etc). If you know your general bodytype you may be able to get a ballpark figure for an ideal weight but the better strategy is to focus on body composition. If you focus on body fat % and get committed to being under 10% or so.... you'll probably look pretty awesome at any weight... at least in terms of lean-ness.

Figure out what your lean body mass is and work from there.

PS great job RepostKing, betterman, A to Dah K. Yall put in work for real.

FUCK YOU........ like dude above said fucking up a weekend is no biggie. This shit is a marathon so in the long run your efforts pay off as long as you're eating perfectly something like 80-85% of the time. Don't let it mess with your psychology too much. Infact carbing up on an occasional weekend can actually help you if you're on a low cal/carb diet for most of the month.

:smh::smh::smh:

yo on some real shit,
it took me like a year just to lose a measly 27 lbs no bullshit.
it took me a year of trying diff stuff and finding what worked for ME.
I did read or hear that somewhere before too that it takes at least a year to find a routine.

at first i started doing cardio, but i was still eating bad. bacon egg and cheese on a croissant with a snapple every morning (thats like 700 cals already) so i need not go through the rest of the day,and i wasn't really seeing any progress.Started to eat better got down to like 188 i was STUCK there FOREVER. Started lifting weights and cardio was still stuck, said fuck the weights imma just go hard on the cardio until i get to my desired weight and then i`ll go from there. Made it my goal fro there to eat 1200-1500 cals a day and burn at least 500 of that. I would put the treadmill on 3.8 speed and 15 incline bam 500 cals in 40 mins and steady weight loss. Then said fuck it,bought a sauna suit & Started doing cardio twice a day 800-100 cals burned 2-3 lbs a week routinely.

its just trial and error man....many a times u gonna get discouraged, disappointed etc etc..

LOL I went to a funeral and a wedding this past weekend, my fam was like, how come you're not eating...
Fuck that, I got goals dammit, but I do give myself a grace day each week where I "taste" some stuff I crave with extreme moderation though.
I realized one thing, is it me who controls what I eat or is it the food that controls me, seriously, nobody is tying be up and forcing me to overeat Se7en style.
Mind over Body! No matter what!
