ur setting yourself up weighing ur self so much. That scale wont tell you if your BMI is decreasing or what you're actually losing.

I'm telling you weight goes up and down and once you stop seeing rapid loss you're going to get depressed and lose motivation. But this is a life style change or it should be, so whats the difference if you lose 10 lbs this week or lose it over the next few weeks?

You're concentrating on the wrong result. Go by your clothes and how ur body looks. Can you take ur shirt off outside without being embarassed? No? So what does it matter that u lost 10 lbs?

Not trying to bust ur bubble, weighing yourself constantly will eventually do that, but trying to show u the goal is to look in shape and be in shape not to weigh some ridiculous number.

When you get ripped and can walk with no shirt on thats weight you should be. Put the scale in the garage my dude

Main reason why weighing yourself everyday is not encouraged is because as soon as you stop losing. Even start gaining. Then you will probably get depressed, discouraged, and drop this whole weight loss plan all together.

Not to mention, all of the loses you are getting now is water. Which means, you can gain it back just as easy.

I'm planning on getting back on my p90x/muay thai workout this monday. I had a thyroid problem not to long ago and I'm finally adjusting to my meds.

Bruh, you are going for drastic weight loss, you better have your fat ass on that scale every morning at the same time. Everybody I know that seriously cuts is on the scale every day making sure shit is going right.

Take weekly photos of you fat ass under the same conditions. Pick a day and stick to that day and take some pictures once a week so you can stay motivated watching your fat ass turn into a human being again.

Good luck, I hope you are posting from the gym.

Both are right depending on your mindset. It just seems that people I know going for serious cuts are on the scale everyday.

I have seen people avoid the scale only to hop on it after 4-5 days and it hasn't moved and they just say "fuck it" and run to Wendy's. They thought they were putting in work at the gym and had the diet going right, but they didn't.

You will lose fat and muscle. You are not taking in enough protein. You ever seen a vegan with muscles?
Yes.

Ay bruh..... congrats on your success so far. I know you're getting a lot of conflicting advice in this thread so I hate to throw one more viewpoint out here when it's already so thick in the field. I think it's important though.

If you have any idea what your LBM is (lean body mass) try not to bring your cals down below maybe LBM*10 or maybe 12.

Reason being that you want to preserve as much muscle as possible especially since you're lifting and doing cardio. At some point you're going to plateau and you won't have anywhere to go with your cals. You might wanna start higher and give yourself some room to play with and reduce cals as you go along. For a big dude like you starting at 1000 cals is bad news and pretty unsustainable.

Anyways.... good job so far. Taking care of your health is a blessing man.... life gets better as you get more fit to enjoy it.

I didn't get a chance to read all the advice in this thread but alexw dropped some science earlier that I hope you incorporated ie building your diet around lean protein and veggies. Shit works.

Good luck and stay up man. I hope this thread encourages more people to take the steps you have.

Respect

No worries man

At the end of the day results are what matters and you'll never go wrong listening to your body and watching your results like a hawk.

Keep pushing mayne

Keep up the good work brother. Anticipate and prepare for your "quit point" and visualize yourself fighting through it. The biggest problem for people is failing to anticipate the point where your mind is telling you it's not worth it. Happens to all of us. What separates the "men" from the "women" is what you do when you get there. I'll be checking in on you to track your progress.

great words bro! thanks

great words bro! thanks

Man I cant see why you dont look at the fatty areas on your body and judge by whether they are shrinking or not. So what ur 268 now, alot of football players are 268 and ripped.

So what you get to 228 but if you still look like a mushy pile of playdoe is that success?? No. It matters more if your body is changing in the mirror, if you pants size is shrinking or if you're seeing defintion

Losing scale weight JUST means you're a smaller version of your fat self bro. That aint nothing to post about. Sorry for the tough luv but I been there
