Jaguars Sign Cleo Lemon and finalized trade for Troy Williamson. Say what you will about the Jaguars but they are commited to having the "Doug Williams All Stars" running the team and I couldn't be prouder.
Jaguars agree to terms with WR Jerry Porter from the Raiders. He is now the #1 wideout in Jacksonville, LMAO!!!
Say what you want about us but we are quietly getting better and we had about 30 million-plus in cap room at the start of free agency. David Garrard more than proved himself as a legit starting QB last year unlike Byron "Cement Boots" Leftwich.
And we dont run the kind of offense that will produce a WR with 80-100 catches since it's primarily a ball-controlled ground attack with the combo of Fred Taylor & Maurice Jones-Drew. By the way, don't sleep on our TE's either.
Jaguars receiving corps:
Marcedes Lewis (young TE with size, speed, & tremendous upside)
Jerry Porter (the dark-horse of the group)
Dennis Northcutt (the jury is still out)
Reggie Williams (who used to suck really bad, but he caught 10 TD's last year)
Troy Williamson (hasn't lived up to the hype, but may flourish in the right system)
Matt Jones (okay, it might be a wrap for this guy)
Viqueens are set to announce these signatures @ 3pm cst
Thomas Tapeh FB
Madieu Williams S
Bernard Berrian WR
Justin Smith DE
im not holding my breath
whats philly doing? any receivers coming?
Any Word On Michael Turner?
Panthers are giving Rod Coleman a physical...
Panthers re-signed LB Donte' Curry to a two-year contract.
I didn't really pay attention to the Falcons this year. Is Coleman a difference maker?
I expect McFadden to end up with the Raiders. Wish the Giants could somehow make a play for Glen Dorsey.
What do you think about Javon Walker and Bryant Johnson in Philly?
Jaguars | Porter contract update
Fri, 29 Feb 2008 10:24:19 -0800
Updating a previous item, Adam Schefter, of the NFL Network, reports the Jacksonville Jaguars have signed free-agent WR Jerry Porter (Raiders) to a six-year, $30 million contract, with $10 million in guaranteed money.
Does an average receiver get this kind of cash these days? The Jags could have gotten Bryant Johnson and Donte Stallworth for that much money.
