1. He wasn't showboating at all.
2. He did not get dropped.
3. He was definitely stunned by the hit and immediately recovered.
4. He recovered enough to have his opponent be bloodied while he was in guard.

Not doubting the veracity of your statement. I'm merely stating for those here who are rushing to give Weidman credit for BEATING Anderson Silva that the injury was a freak accident and thus the victory was a fluke. Nothing more.

Chris Weidman was victorious against Anderson Silva two times. The first time Anderson Silva effectively beat himself and the second time was a fluke.

checking kicks is key but realistically you cant check all of them because despite how condition your shin is it will still hurt. I train in muay thai so I know.


funny a month ago one of my instructor was barking at me at sparring for not checking the low leg kicks. im not a fan of checking kicks unless their mid section kicks.

You can condition your legs, desensitize them and calcify/harden the shin over time. It wont always hurt the same.
