►►► OFFICIAL UFC 168 - Sat. Dec. 28th - Las Vegas - Silva / Weidman / Rousey / Tate

It will be interesting to see how Barao-Faber II pans out. Faber couldn't catch a break in the first fight in the summer of 2012 breaking his rib in the 1st rib and having Barao piece him up for the duration of the fight. That said ... Faber only had 1 fight in 2012, and went 4-0 throughout 2013. Hopefully we see a more competitive match-up ... especially considering Faber has only lost in TITLE fights throughout his career. He wins everything else. Lastly ... sucks for Cruz ... will we ever see him back, and at what capacity? He'll be gone for well over 2 years by the time we see him back (probably this spring or summer).

I like that story for Faber plus I got friends out in the bay. I was out there last time I saw him when he lost.

I wanna see him win now.

Yeah - I'm good in any scenario, Exiledking. It's like a win-win-win basically. I respect all those cats. Barao, Cruz, Faber and I'm good with any of them holding the strap and it's cool to see Faber having this late-career resurgence (that said - he could realistically fight for several more years, so he's by no means nearly done yet). Barao is easily a P4P fighter and has proven it over time (against various opposition in & out of the big league). Faber's long been one of the most recognizable faces in the sport. Cruz is unique in his approach and hard to get a read on in there. In & out ... odd angles, etc. Very elusive. I just wish he could get back in there soon ... being gone for so long already ... it may be hard to shake off some of that ring rust once he gets back. He last fought on Oct. 1st, 2011 (Johnson) and July 2nd of that same year (Faber). * His last loss was back in March of 2007 against Faber. As for Johnson? Shit ... since his loss to Cruz back in Oct. 2011 ... he's moved down to 125lbs (from 135) ... FOUGHT 6 TIMES ... and defended his strap a few times in the process with a decision over Dodson, a sub of Moraga, and a spectacular KO over Benavidez (who he'd already beaten once prior).

yeah - I'm glad it did big numbers. It was a good card to end the year, and was exciting. Glad it cleared 1 million.

MFH - Gonna be interesting to see how the landscape changes if and when he returns to the 185 division. Same for 170 ... and if/when GSP ever chooses to come back. This weekend's card should be fun, bro. HENDRICKS-LAWLER in the main ... CONDIT-WOODLEY in the co-main √

No doubt. What did you think of the Alexander Gustafsson vs. Jimi Manuwa card? I didn't see a thread for it and missed the whole thing.

It was pretty good, bro. Enjoyed some of the fights. Got home that morning around 8 or 9am and the main card started at 12pm PST. I don't have Fight Pass, but fortunately the event was aired on Sportsnet 360 and Pacific respectively (they have a number of designations here in Canada, and 360 is the main one for the UFC's programming). Gonna try and watch the prelims for the card in the next day or two. Alex definitely looked good in the main. I've always been impressed with his hand speed in close, and he definitely built his confidence in that great 25-min fight with Jon last September when most people thought it would be some shitty squash match of sorts.
