Weight Loss/get in better shape journey thread

See that is what im having to do. I have to start back strength training. Actually went to Planet Fitness today. Haven't been in months but I been logging hella miles running my neighborhood.

I'm going to start incorporating sprinting into my workouts along with steady state cardio...running.

Another mistake cats shouldn’t make is eating very low calorie or under eating. This slows down your metabolism. You’re eating little and wonder you’re not losing weight this is why.

Now the first time you try this you may lose weight quickly. It’s cause your metabolism hasn’t adapted to the new low calorie intake. But, it will soon.

I’ve tried all of those diet fads and I’ve learned it’s all about calorie deficit. There are many calorie calculators online you can use. It basically asks for your height, age and how often you workout.

This people think you gotta starve yourself
You actually destroy your system

Peace brothers tonight’s workout because got off late
5 min jump rope
100 push ups in 4:30
3 -1 minute sets of curls with the heavyvest (50lb)
3-1 min sets of squat/lunges with the heavy vest and body bag (100lb)
And finished with core (alternative toe touches)

I'm looking to get MIR weighted vest this black Friday. Specifically the Air Flow vest. Price point kind of high right now. 50LB runs $223.76

Mir weighted vest finally went on sale, originally, $223.76 now on sale via Amazon for $165.58 (50LB).

Just put my order in.

Jenny Craig and Nutrisystem usually uses the 1500 calorie intake. I would say this is the magic intake of calories for men and 1200 for women. They don’t do any calorie calculations for men or women they just use the 1200 or 1500 intake, usually.

It’s not too low to slow down your metabolism or put you in starvation mode. It’s not high enough to keep you in the same weight range!

I’m already seeing the weight drop. Add in high intensity workouts for even faster results.

Now once you lose all of that fat, you need to eat to maintain your weight. I would say up your intake to 2000 to 2500 calories!

You can use ChatGPT to measure the calories on your plate or each individual food item. Just take a picture of it and ChatGPT can tell you the approximate amount of calories. That’s if you don’t see the calorie amount on the package if it package at all.

If you have an iPhone, the calculator you can use that to login all of your calories you eat for a day and even if you turn the phone off the number you put on your calculator won’t disappear

Anyone got a home gym set up?
I have a treadmill and a pull up tower but looking to invest in some weights
I have a home gym set up. I have a full power cage with cable system, olympic barbell and about 700lbs total of plate weights. Including 250lb of bumper plates for deadlifting and such. Then dumbbells from 2lb - 50. And 6 kettle bells from 10lb to 35kg. Plus 2 aerobic steps wirh risers and a plyo box. And resistance bands for structural work and foam rollers.

I just need another cable system and a sled for a full gym setup.

I’m telling you man, try this. I’m seeing fast results now.

1) get into a 1500 calorie intake daily!
2) get all of your sleep
3) get 0.7 to 1 gram per pound of body weight you have
4) do high intensity exercises

I guarantee you’ll see results quickly if you don’t have some kind of medical issue with your fat loss

I agree with number 2 and for 3 it is 1g per kilo gram. If you do per pound you will be eating like 250-300 grams of protein. Unless you are a body builder that is too much protein in general.
1500 Calories is not good long term either but for less than 120-150 days then it will be recoverable.
HIIT is great but if you want to burn fat and not kill your joints you can just do Low Intesity Stead State Cardio (LISS) or now a days Moderate Intensity Interval Training (MIIT). Sleep is what was holding me back. I think I have it dialed back in to getting between 6-7 hours most days. Weight just melts off when rested.

Of course 1500 calories are not good long term. It’s only for losing weight. Once you lose the weight then you adjust your calories where your new weight is maintained.
