Thor: Love and Thunder - Spoiler Alerts not necessary

I don't mind it. Just like I didn't mind Heimdall being Black in Thor.

Im not sure I see black peeps as elves and dwarves, humans sure, but Im waiting to see how its done before I pass judgement. However, I dont believe that seeing black peeps in LoTR does anything much for anyone (though im happy for the actors getting these roles).

The real problem of "representation" isnt that we want established characters to be race bent. The real problem is that race holds back our artists/creators so they dont get put on.

They do?

because I didn't hear a lot of laughter for it.

People are saying it's great?
On 2 different podcasts.....yup
however....on one podcast (double toasted) Korey said it was a rental (wack), Julian said it was high matinee (good) and Martin said it was a full price (great).

This is gonna continue to happen with Disney if their movies aren’t great. Why see it in movie theaters when I can wait for Disney plus? Side note why don’t pov or whatever the abbreviation for streaming sales count as movie gross?? Not streaming subscriptions but sales of movies when they release them…

they would also be counting businesses with 30 -45 day b2b licenses: airlines cruise ships resorts military mobile platforms etc-
flat fee paid in advance of theatrical release

When a movie has a budget of 250 million, 600 at the box office is barely breaking even. It's not like the studio gets ALL the money. They have to split it with the theater. Overseas, they get an even smaller cut. I read that studios only get around 25% of the Chinese box office revenue. When a studio spends that kinda money, they expect to make a billion at the box office.

They still got pov and dvd sales; merchandising and licensing agreements and streaming. They might “break even” at the box office but all the other things puts major money in their pockets. Plus I’ve never believe that number shit. Those are faguzzi accounting shit if you ask me…

Back in May i said this shit in the Moonknight thread

they gonna fuck that story line up with Gorr- theyve made Thor WAYYYYYY to "jokey" and funny now - Gorr is on some ridiculous level of power and has been killing Gods from all kinds of realities and worlds......

Gorr is a real SERIOUS heavy story in the Thor comics - as a young God Thor barely escaped with his life from being tortured by Gorr for almost a year .... that whole Gorr the God Killer series was off the chain - and it required Thor , Odinforce Thor ( who has the arm of the destroyer armor and Mijlnor and his Axe and is as old as Odin ( its the end of time )) and Young God Thor to fight Gorr .......and still that was barely enough.

that should merit its own movie by itself

AND THEY FUCKED THIS MOVIE UP !!!

Idris Elba Comments On Heimdall's MCU Future After Thor: Love & Thunder

Idris Elba comments on Heimdall’s possible Marvel Cinematic Universe future after his brief and important appearance in Thor: Love and Thunder.

Warning: SPOILERS lie ahead for Thor: Love and Thunder.

After having made a surprise appearance in the film, Idris Elba has commented on Heimdall's Marvel Cinematic Universe future after Thor: Love and Thunder. Elba made his MCU debut in 2011's Thor as the sole protector of the Bifröst, the gateway to the various reaches of the universe, and as the closest ally and friend to Chris Hemsworth's titular character in Asgard. The Golden Globe winner would reprise his role in five other films, including 2018's Avengers: Infinity War, in which he was killed by Thanos after successfully sending Mark Ruffalo's Hulk back to Earth to warn the titular superhero team, and in the Disney+ animated series What If...? as a variant of himself.

Hemsworth returned to lead the cast of Thor: Love and Thunder as the God of Thunder in his quest to find inner peace, only for it to be upended when Gorr the God Butcher sets out on his own journey to eliminate all gods in the universe. Alongside Hemsworth, the film saw the MCU returns of Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Jaimie Alexander as Sif, Natalie Portman as Jane Foster and Taika Waititi as Korg, as well as co-writer and director, and marked the franchise debuts of Christian Bale as Gorr and Russell Crowe as Zeus. Though receiving mixed reviews from critics and audiences alike, Thor: Love and Thunder paved the way for a number of new paths for the MCU and one star is sharing their thoughts on what the future may hold for them.

Return?
While speaking with Collider for his upcoming action-thriller Beast, Idris Elba opened up about his possible MCU future. The Heimdall actor confirmed his interest in returning to the fold following his surprise appearance in Thor: Love and Thunder and teased how he could appear in the future. See what Elba shared below:

“Pretty much his whole sort of like arsenal of gifts have been tapped into one way or another. He’s all-seeing, you know. But he’s quite a warrior. We’ve seen him as a warrior as well, and he has an immortality around him and that would be something that we haven’t really explored so that I think may be interesting. Hey, listen, you know, the Marvel world is ever-expanding. You just never know.”
Despite his death in Avengers: Infinity War, Elba returned in Thor: Love and Thunder's post-credits scene, greeting Portman's Jane Foster to Valhalla after she succumbed to her cancer after taking up the Mighty Thor mantle for the final fight against Gorr. Not only did this leave many audiences reeling at the happy-sad nature of her fate, but those familiar with the comics understood how it left the door open for Jane to return and opened the door back up for Heimdall to also come back from the dead. In the comics, Jane was resurrected with the help of Thor, Mjolnir and Odin after being greeted by the latter upon arriving in Valhalla and though Heimdall greets her instead in the Thor: Love and Thunder post-credits scene, Anthony Hopkins' Odin did ascend to Valhalla in Thor: Ragnarok, creating the possibility for him to assist his son in reviving his love.

With Elba hinting at Heimdall possessing some form of immortality within the MCU, it seems likely that the character could further return following his appearance in Thor: Love and Thunder, especially given the credits confirmed Hemsworth's hero would be back, much to the surprise of the star and Waititi. Outside of Heimdall and Foster, audiences are also eager to see what could come from the introduction of Brett Goldstein's Hercules and the teased fight between him and Thor in the future. In the meantime, audiences can catch up with Elba's Heimdall return as Thor: Love and Thunder is still in theaters.

Shit is horrible. "Oh no, someone named Gorr the God Butcher kidnapped our kids. Oh well, let's just tell some dry jokes and talk about our relationship." this was like watching a spoof of a Marvel movie.
It was ok. But Morbius was awful. I thought both Venom movies were bad; but Tom Hardy is a great actor though. Thor could and should have been a lot better...
