Discussion: Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness - confirmed Sam Raimi directing UPDATE: REVIEWS!

I didnt have a problem per se with the storyline. A noir Batman flick...ok ok. But the nigga didnt feel like Batman. He felt like a nigga in a Batsuit with some gadgets. Even the Batmobile. I'm like, this nigga got a armored Hellcat for a Batmobile?
I get what you're saying. The world was a bit too real and kinda clashed with the innate campiness of Batman.

You can't make Penguin a Godfather type gangster but still have a dude walking around in a batsuit. It makes Batman look ridiculous. There's no room in that world for villains like Killer Croc or Clayface either.

I wish we would have gotten a live action Batman The Animated Series film that basically took the Sin City approach.

I remember sitting in a movie theater with one of my friends watching Sin City wishing for Batman film done in that style.

This was a few months before Batman Begins of course.

Still hoping to see that one day.

Wait until you find out Batman actually is a nigga in a Batsuit with some gadgets

That would be cool af. Frank Miller did the Sin City and Batman: The Dark Knight Returns graphic novels.

It would be cool to see TDKR done faithfully to the graphic novel with an old Bruce Wayne in a future Gotham where all of his old enemies are dead and he's facing a new generation of villains. Of course the whole film will be stylized not overly realistic.

But Penguin IS a gangsta. He was never campy.

That would be dope as fuck. Batman: TAS is a GOAT level show anyways.

I saw the movie Saturday. I left the movie feeling indifferent. The movie undid Wanda's story arc in Wanda Vision. The entire movie she never mentions Vision. You could say she came to terms with the loss of Vision but they should have used him in the movie. I liked the movie but I also got my hopes up. I was sure Deadpool would have made a cameo. We probably won't see Wanda again until late within this phase.
I agree . It's funny i only realized the lack of Vision when someone brought it up to me . He should have been front and center in that home with Wanda and the boys.

she mentioned Viz when she said they discussed whether or not the multiverse existed. Only mention of Vision was in the fake orchard.

The longer this is out, the worse the reviews get.

Someone brought up a good point......why didn't any of the sorcerers use their sling rings against the scarlet witch? Also, if the Multiverse was at risk, not one of the many already introduced characters thought it was important enough to intervene? Also, why are they trying so hard to make Dr. Strange a dumb ass? So many other plot holes and inconsistencies.

As I said before, watch it for entertainment. But, do not expect it to be as good as the first Dr. Strange movie. To be honest, it is not even a sequel to Dr. Strange. It is truly a sequel to Wanda Vision.

This movie was on par with No Way Home. You bugging the fuck out.

That shit sucked golf balls thru a hose.
Bad plot. Bad acting. Bad cinematography.
The whole damn story is about a mom-wannabe whose uterus is aching to pop out a few, but reality won't let her, so she steals the kids of her alternate reality self. The fuck? The only saving grace would/could have been the alternate reality Professor X, but they ruined that whole plot line, too.

We go from a utilitarian galactic tyrant obsessed with universal order willing to sacrifice his daughter to this?
We go from a young hero driven mad by the killing of his aunt nearly crossing over to complete darkness because of his loss pain to this?
We go from Ironman learning that Cap's best friend is the murderer of his parent's killing and fighting his trusted colleague to the death to this?

Here we have the story of 2 characters who experienced trauma and heartbreak having their stories intersect.

One who has the power to change her life and finally be happy but has to go to extreme measures to do so.

The other who also has the power to fix his life but isn't willing to hurt others to do so.

What exactly did you want from the movie?

The X-Men to show up? If you had any sense you would have known Marvel would not have done that.

The illuminati was just a lil bit of fun just like "Quicksilver" in Wandavision.

If you aren't seeing what the new phases is setting up then sit this one out and go watch the old movies.

People were talking shit about Captain America the 1st Avenger too but go back and watch it and you will see a lot of shit you missed.

You aren't smart. You are a lame loud mouth.

Your response shows the difference between my intellect and yours.
Stick to clown faces.

Well...I finally saw the movie tonight.

And I feel a certain way about a lot of it.

It's not a bad movie....but because it's basically the tentpole for Phase 5, it shows its flaws very easily.

Spoilers for anyone that hasn't seen it yet:

My first issue is how did they designate the MCU (that C is for Cinematic) as 616, when you cannot have a 616 without the FF. Not to mention they went through a cartoon world, why isn't that 616?

They made too many characters...dumb, for lack of a better word. You really think that the Illuminati wouldn't have tactics in place to attack SW & keep off balance & distracted enough not to fully use her magic. It was a free-for-all that made no sense for a group that basically organized their world. The minute SW killed BB, Captain Carter (who does NOT have the same outlook on life that Steve Rogers has) should have beheaded her with the shield with CM accelerating the shield with her energy.

And don't get me started on how she killed them. Black Bolt's powers don't work that way & if you can hear him speak, you are dead. Bolt's speaking voice has the power of a nuke. He usually whispers to cause traditional damage. Captain Marvel taken out by a statue. A demi-god with Class 100 strength that just got mollywhopped through a structure's foundation & a statue "kills" her? And the worst was Prof. X. The master of the mindscape killed there? Seriously? If the Shadow King couldn't do it & Cassandra Nova couldn't, how could SW?

And Wanda just turns villian & then turns hero at the end like she was John Cena in the WWE? All that death & destruction & a 2 minute "it won't happen ever again" is the answer? Wasn't Wong supposed to end her, being that any threat to the multiverse dies?

I'm glad Wong isn't dead tho. I like that character...although I know that Strange has to become the Sorcerer Supreme one day, so that means Wong is counting his days.

The explanation for the incursions was dumb....you can easily tell it was rushed in to create some sort of connecting storyline.

Matter of fact, the fact that Dr. Strange is more powerful than Wong is dumb as well.

Maybe it's because I'm a big comic head. But this was not what I expected. Nice to look at. I'm not gonna say it sucks, but I will say that they are going to retrofit a whole lot of changes in the upcoming movies to make this all make sense.
