I always say after season 3 or 4 is usually when the writing goes to shit I hope that’s not the cause with ozark and they know when to end the series

I think Wendy mite b medicated 2... runs in families they say

This is why I try to read every post in these threads. Bipolar disorder IS herdeditary. I think it is a very likely explanation for Wendy's erratic behavior, going back to the affair.

Great thread as usual. I'm not so keen on plot predictions, but the plot interpretations here are pure gold. Now I gotta watch the whole season a second time.

Jonah already has multiple accounts, shell companies, crypto currency. He hooked Charlotte up last season. I believe Jonah is going to kill someone next season. He'll probably save Marty's ass too.

Jonah could kill someone if he wanted to.
I think he separates from them more now. He's not a little kid anymore. And there's nothing they can do to stop THAT part from happening.

Wasn't the case with Breaking Bad tho.

Breaking Bad ended perfectly in 5 seasons. Five is usually the sweet spot for these type of shows.

The writers and show runners said that they got up to 6-7 seasons planned but the minimum could be 4.... I think this show can go a max of 5 seasons, although this is a well written show, if they go more than five it will be pulling shit out of they ass, unless the byrdes somehow get into politics and wendy becomes a senator or something, but that cant happen lol. I do see marty and wendy divorcing and going into a war, and the kids going their separate ways

true it’s shows that definitely are good all the way thru

I would say “the wire” as well but it’s debatable since season 2 and the last season people didn’t like

I think the season 2 thing with the Wire was more at the time than looking at it as a whole. Taking the show in full context, season 2 makes a lot more sense and I understand why it was what it was.

I forgot about that. Thanks for bringing that up.

And now that he realizes his mother was behind Ben’s murder, he might be the one to take out the family and inherit the business.

That would put a big swing in things and can lead into a decent spin off series.

I just finished the season last night.

They left a lot of room for growth next year, particularly with the son.

He's a perfect combination of his parents best attributes, he's going to be a beast moving forward.

That story arc with her brother was heart wrenching.

He had an innocence and integrity about him that nobody in this series has even the kids. It made his ending even harder to see.

Fam Ben was a fucking lunatic that def needed inpatient hospitalization! Everything they did with Ben is everything you should never do with a certified bipolar person.
great acting on the actor who played Ben. But Ben needed to be stabilized on meds.

man, i was like when is someone gon smack him in the mouth with a pill .....

My biggest gripe with Ozark has been the portrayal of the black characters. For example why does the dude have to be gay it’s like every black man on TV have to be gay or bisexual. And why is old girl damn near eight or nine months pregnant getting ready to pop still working this fucking case..? I mean what is the importance of having her be pregnant? why couldn’t she just be a single woman working. Shit kinda rubbed me the wrong way.

Was Ben a CI? How did he know about Marty's friend who Dale melted in the barrel during season 1?

He just pieced together the fact that his partner was nowhere to be seen and guessed that he was dead due to the other suspected deaths.

If he actually knew anything he wouldn't have suspected them of his murder at all.

Jonah isn't coming after anyone in the family and he's not mentally unstable lol

Jonah just don't give a fuck about giving an inch.
He's a kid.
He's just going to be straight up with his mom and start his own thing.
They keep stifling his growth opportunities.
He's just going to stack up money and keep it 100 with them and then roll out

The kids aren't a liability. They're numb to this shit as far as being concerned about snitching

Remember in The Untouchables and it kept coming up we can get Capone through taxes but everyone ignored it? The same way Jonah keeps coming up with these different but great ideas it will be great if thats how the series ends with them actually having to use
Jonah's ideas.

Jonah was killing animals, pulling out their guts and leaving them on his yard for Vultures when he just 13 ...

How does he not have some kind of mental issues?

Because it's just curious shit that kids do.
When you're 13 your teacher in science class has you open up a frog look at it's guts take them out and study them. Is your middle school science teacher making you a serial killer?

His ideas are going to be used.
He probably has $500k
He made 6gs on that mobile project
He has Bitcoin
He has shell companies ready to go when they need to run.

It's not a matter of if it's when.
When he's old enough to want to really do his own thing and they can't ground him he's just going to ask them to leave they'll say no and he'll say ok
And then he's going to leave in the middle of the night

That or he'll meet a girl fall in love and leave

Man if you can't tell that he has issues then you've missed all the clues from Season 1 through now. He has had problems with emotions since episode 1 of the series. Go back and look at the scene where his drone was taking video of the cartel gunning down the KC Mob.. ZERO Emotion. He just stared. Ben was about to have a fucking breakdown. It's the same look that he gave in the first season when he was looking at the all the brutal killings committed by the Cartel. Even in the first season... .Marty and Wendy picked up on it.

You can be highly intelligent, but also have a mental illness.

I haven't missed all the clues because I don't agree with you lol.
We just have a different opinion.
There is no 1 way to be or to react or to behave in order to say someone does or doesn't have mental issues.
And then you make the mistake of saying he DIDN'T react like a bi-polar individual off his meds, to point out how he clearly must have mental issues?
So he didn't react like the actual crazy person so he crazy?

I've been able to watch brutal shit all my life. Faces of death all that stuff.
I used to listen to Bone Thugs N Harmony HEAVY and all they talked about was smoking weed and worshipping the devil.
Shit didn't affect me because I had my own mind.
Just like he has his. If they make him a psycho it'll be lazy writing because honestly everyone is different and some shit doesn't phase people
For all, we know it could be the traits of a trauma surgeon.
Think about all the people who gag on the sight of blood or don't have steady hands or can't do the things that a trauma surgeon does every day
does that mean the surgeon maybe has a mental illness?
You don't think a surgeon might not have been obsessed with the human body enough to want to be one?
Dude is just a kid coming into his own.

This whole season seemed like they were setting up ole boy to win an emmy or some shit. When he kept trying to call Helen and
apologize I actually wanted to jump in my fucking TV to whip his stupid, mentally challenged ass...so I guess he did a good job
playing that roll. Yeah, usually when a key character is killed...like Helen, the show tends to go downhill. But at the end of the first season
Darlene's crazy ass killed a boss and it kept going, so hopefully it will now.

It's good they even gave the black dude a job and both the gayness and the pregnancy play a part in the plot. The white agent needed to be gay, to tie him in with Wyatt's dad or uncle (forgot which) that was downlow gay..and the agent needed a reason to to be leaving to put a time limit on what she was offering Marty. But you're right, they wouldn't assign her to a case that has a chance of being prolonged in real life. But the pregnancy will probably going to come into play later. It's not like she is playing a hoodrat. And the way the portray Darlene and Ruth along with other whites leads me to believe it's not racial. Most shows wouldn't even have a black person in sight on a show based in this place and nobody would even notice.
