Arrow on CW

Playahation constantly posting spoilers, I knew who Jay Garrick and Zooms identity was before the episode aired because he constantly posting spoiler pics.
Well it's one thing to do it in a discussion thread. It's entirely different when someone posts a spoiler in a off topic thread.

Hold the fuck up,I just saw the previews.Did I just see,we have to wait til the 27th for a new episode....wtf

They just came from a break two weeks ago.... :smh:

I love CW's shows but I don't understand their system at all. Flash comes back from two week break with a new episode and then you throw in another break after that. See this is why I'm a fan of FX's year round programming.

God I hope not but yeah it was weird.... I don't see how Detective Lance could ever trust Oliver if he made him believe that he lost one of his daughters again.

it will be about Darhk so it will be fine.

funniest joke of the night is when Oliver says he has been keeping a secret

and Speedy goes "I'm shocked"!

The amount of blatant lies on this soap opera is damn near obscene and the hypocrisy even more so...

(you listening Felicity!?!?)

How Lance gonna be mad?

he teamed up with Darhk and DOZENS of citizens and law officers were killed as a result to save his ONE daughter!

And it so OBVIOUS she aint dead,, that was the most awkward transition in the show's history.

btw...the first 3 minutes of the Det. gordon in Blackgate montage should win a damn award and was the best series of scenes in the history of the series.

The show kills or tries to kill off an key character every season. They really needed to trim the fat around team arrow. There's too many members on the show. Canary should have been nothing more but a side character during big events of the season.

What the hell are their plans for Mr. Terrific? Is he just gay-bait?

If you’re enjoying Arrow‘s Season 4 flashback storyline, you’re on an island.

The storytelling device, which since the CW series’ launch has revealed how a mop-topped billionaire brat was honed into the hero known as Arrow, offered compelling correlations during Seasons 1 and 2, as Oliver Queen (played by Stephen Amell) first washed up on Lian Yu and learned some hard lessons at the hands of Yao Fei, Slade Wilson and the Amazo captain.

The flashbacks began failing this series, however, with Season 3’s meandering trip to Hong Kong, while this season’s return to Lian Yu seemingly exists solely to tell us that Oliver encountered Damien Darhk’s mystical idol once before. TVLine recaps regularly sum up the island events in a single sentence, while The CW’s own press site hosts exactly one photo from the glacially paced arc.

Arrow‘s showrunners are not unaware of viewers’ escalating indifference to the flashbacks, and in fact addressed the topic head on at the Writers Guild Festival on Saturday.

“Part of the appeal of the flashbacks – certainly in the first two years, but I think the first three years – is seeing what a big difference it is between Oliver Queen in the present day and Oliver Queen five years ago,” EP Marc Guggenheim shared. “The problem is that we are telling a five-year story in the flashbacks of Oliver becoming the guy you met in the pilot. So the deeper you get into the flashbacks, the closer he becomes to being that guy, and, thus, you lose that element of the flashbacks that was so interesting, which is how different he was…. That’s something we have struggled with this year.”

Arrow

In addition to highlighting any disparity between Oliver then and now, the flashbacks endeavor to be “emotionally or thematically connected” to the current storyline, said EP Wendy Mericle, though the writers have also “experimented with having them not speak to what’s going on currently” — which is probably when the flashbacks are most met with ennui by the audience.

So, might it be time to put an arrow in the flashback device and let Arrow simply and exclusively unfold in the present?

Speaking with TVLine after the panel discussion, Mericle said that she “loved” Stephen Amell’s work in the earlier flashbacks, “because I thought he really inhabited that character. It was less the very stoic superhero and much more dimensional, because he was so flawed.” And though Oliver has evolved in the flashbacks to a point where, as aforementioned, he’s not a far cry from the man who set out to save his city, Mericle said, “The way we write the story is still very much married to that backstory, and trying to change it up at this point would feel weird.”

Arrow

But looking ahead to next season, “We know what we’re working up to,” she shared, as the past timeline inches ever closer to where the series began. Thus, the flashbacks are poised to be more engrossing and focused. “The season will be easier to break because we have an endpoint, and we work backwards from there.”

And where might Season 5’s flashbacks take us? Mericle would not confirm the destination, but a recent reference to Russia by Taiana (that’s the name of Oliver’s island gal pal, by the way), would seem to offer a clue. “I don’t want to tip too much,” the EP allowed with a coy smile, “but it’s a very good possibility that we’ll finally find out how Oliver got that Bratva tattoo and how he learned to speak Russian.” (With reporting by Vlada Gelman)

WAS IT ALL A BIG FAKE-OUT?

When a seemingly fine-and-dandy post-surgery Laurel began to ask something of Oliver, the camera pulled back, not allowing us to hear what was said. Moments later, she began seizing, fatally. Could the two have whipped together an elaborate ruse to fake the hero/would-be DA's death? In a word, "No," Guggenheim makes clear. "We've done a fake death before." Nor did Laurel ask Oliver to euthanize her, the EP adds. So what was Laurel's request? "You'll know in Season 5," says Mericle.

Sarah (the original Canary) was cast as a lead in the spinoff show: Legends of Tomorrow

So for continuity sake, they gotta 'resurrect' her on Arrow first... then let her appear in a few episodes (to wrap up any 'loose ends' her 'sudden return' creates)... then write her off the show again (Once and Forever)... So she could 'transition' over to the spinoff with a 'new purpose' for the new audience.

Meanwhile, it gives the Arrow TV writers more 'creative license' to improve / or do something different with Laurel's character to address the criticisms she has been receiving since jump.

Maybe they will use the time to also try to 'mend the fences' between her Dad's resentment of Laurel for not telling him that Sarah passed away.

Either way, whatever they do... she will probably undergo the biggest 'character arc' this year, and I'm pretty sure Laurel will not be 'the same person' she is at the start of the new season.... as she is by the season finale.

Laurel (more than anyone else on the show) needs a 'personality makeover'.... and the writers know it.

I predict she will either die off somehow, or become someone/something completely different by the last episode.

Time will tell.
I knew it would happen.

You know when a casting is wrong (Katie Cassidy) when the original and new Black Canary instantly look the part

Now they need to get rid of Speedy, give Diggle a new mask and go back to a Trio of Arrow, Diggle and Canary.
Two Arrow characters Speedy and Arrow are just redundant.

Why did Captain Lance have a full head of hair during Tomny's funeral when he was balding during season 1?

They need to end the flash backs. After he left the island during the 3rd season it all felt stupid. This show downfall is continuing to plummet.

Dark kills people almost every episode but now that he has killed a friend its time to get serious :hmm:

Yea I mean they killed ol girl and Digger peeled the drivers, pulled ol girl out the car and for what? A fucking speech. Then he cried outside the car. WTF. Kill her ass and get on to the next one! What was worse was Olliver onion headed ass coming with that save the whale bullshit. Nah man, get busy son!

So this low level agent had a chip that can control the world's nuclear weapons? :smh:

Let's not forget Dark bringing Oli's sister to his ark to blow the secret location

So Oliver went from not being ready to fight Darkh's magic to all of a sudden hearing voices telling him you can do it and miraculously fights him off...........
And am guessing Thea is being kept at Genesis to keep Merlin in check...
And seriously though Digle......can you seriously be that stupid?.....uhhm yes you can.:smh:

Lila was not a low level agent she was put in charge after they killed Waller.

Oliver also heard this guy in his head and that's what pushed him over the edge to fight Darhk

What the fuck are they doing with Diggle now.I understand Laurel was a friend and that his brother betrayed him(even though I knew it was going to happen)but god dayum, they're making him do stupid ass mistakes.

It was plain ass day that it was a trap and yet Diggle fell for it anyways.

:smh::smh::smh::smh::smh:

I swear they go out of their way to make the black dudes look weak as hell. The hotheaded dude that flies off the handle without thinking. :smh: Looked like Darkh was not only after that chip but the baby as well probably for Genesis.
