Other than a character angrily saying, "GET GRELL ON THE PHONE", or something to that effect, and his friend, "MERLYN", shit was like "SMALLVILLE" all over again. I did like the "twist" at the end though. I'll wait for others to watch before I make mention. I didn't see that coming.
I'm going to give it a few more watches though.
Just to see how they use certain characters.
isnt slade a.k.a deathstroke supposed to be the main villain in this?
off topic the new beauty and the beast
I was waiting for it Movie career didn't do so well huh?
I caught like the last five minutes, can't make a judgement. But glad to see dude from the Dresden Files got another job.
They twist at the end was a good suprise. I don't like how Ollie is portrayed, his fighting skills are a little to good for someone with no fighting background. I really want to see what happend on the island.
Yeah, this series writers seem to actually KNOW and care that it's based on a fucking comic book...unlike Smallville. Smallville tried so hard to stay away from the comic book stuff that it fucking sucked ass. For example, THIS is a picture of Deathstroke from the Smallville series...BGOL's own Slade The Assassin about to make his acting debut on there soon
I was pleasantly surprised. At first I thought it was typical DC cliche: brooding billionaire crimefighter with split personality but then when he actually killed a couple dudes, that was pretty shocking.
Speaking of shocking moments, the end was chock full of them. Here I'm thinking his dad is bound to reappear and that was taken off the board.
I also liked how they incorporated Green Arrow core characters like Speedy and Merlyn.
I didnt plan on watching but I will now.
I agree with this assessment, However it does create a problem on several fronts. Remember he doesn't have super-powers so he's venerable like any human, albeit one apparently in good shape. Thus he can get hurt, he tires, he's susceptible to the elements etc. I really hope the writers keep this in mind with his "heroics"
They are also going to have to explain where and how he acquired those fighting skills. I'm imagining some guru on the island taught him a few stuff. However, I'm not sure if thats enough to justify his apparent "advance" fighting skills. Remember he took out the retired "marine" guy, his body guard like it wasn't shit. Also, he soundly beat the head of security for the bad guy, quite easily.
I really like the temperament/tone of the character. It's a far cry from the portrayal of the "funny boy comic" on smallville
Let's not forget that Slade's mask was also on the island. I'm guessing Deathstroke was on that island giving him problems.I agree with this assessment, However it does create a problem on several fronts. Natas is the one that trained GA into a killing machine, so i hope it's shown in this series.

fool me once, shame on you.
fool me TWICE, shame on ME.
i will NEVER get screwed over again by those miserable bastards like they got me with Smallville.
cot damn white teenager soap opera dressed up to resemble a coherent superhero serial.
MOTHERFUCKERS!!!!
YEAH, I'm STILL MAD!!!!

If he's too "super", it'll lose the realistic vibe it has. I like that he uses plain arrows and not trick arrows with boxing gloves and shit.
